  1. 4 yard pass Hogan to Tyrod. Oh wait... Tyrod, 14 yard pass to Robert Woods (running a seam route) on third down.
  2. I saw an earlier prediction re: Romo/retirement. I think you are right about it happening before the season ends. Brady*...we can only hope; Kelly...wouldn't be a shocker!
  3. When I heard Rex's interview at halftime, I told my boys that Gay just got cut. Sure enough, Carp came out to take the kickoff! I'd be surprised if Gay makes it through tomorrow. Maybe they can keep Nick around to be Rex's caddy.
  4. Less clarity for the average Joe is always a bonus for Vegas. I think this is an improvement for player safety because teams won't be able to go after someone who is slightly dinged up. In addition, it keeps teams from getting in trouble for not listing someone as probably (like the Mario Williams wrist situation a few years ago).
  5. Player goes to rehab = players are out of control??? I don't think so. More likely a group of people including family, coaches, advisers, and front office personnel have Marcell's attention. There's a better chance that Rex is assisting with that decision to go to rehab, rather than blame Rex like he was the supplier for Marcell's habit.
  6. Cam Newton isn't in HS. I think the difference will be the size of the guy. Vick was fast, but smallish, like TT. I was reading how track has changed because of taller sprinters and new training. Usain Bolt pushed the boundaries for Olympic sprinters with his height. I think we'll end up seeing someone big like Newton with sub-4.3 speed. The problem with that type of player is that they ultimately get beat up doing a secondary function (running). The passing part of their game is so rare that NFL coaches will always lead them away from running. The limited training for speed and perpetual aging will cause the fastest guys to slow down.
  7. He did look good, but he also had an INT called back on a defensive penalty last night. Also, the TD to Bryant was poorly thrown, were it not for Bryant's freakish ability, that is likely incomplete, possibly killing the drive. He's also playing behind the best OL in the NFL, against a mix of starters and 2nd tier defenders. I'm not saying he stinks, but the stats aren't a perfect reflection of the total package. Romo will start, Dak will back up and the Jones clan can promote him next season (2017), right after Romo's body explodes again. I think that Cardale would look as good as Prescott behind the Dallas O-line.
  8. We took Cardale. What do you mean by "We're going to regret not taking a QB."?!?
  9. As soon as I saw the subject of this thread, I thought "oh no... Prescott will be Russell Wilson 2.0."So, let's get started. What bust did we pick instead of Prescott? How many rounds did we waste passing over him? What front office heads should roll?
  10. That's the truth. I was never as amazed by a college player as I was when Vick was at VT. Guys like RGIII and VY had better teams to go with their athleticism, but Vick almost single-handedly carried the Hokies. With some guys you think they could break it on any play; with Vick you expected him to break loose on every play.
  11. Could Keith Goganious make the switch to the outside? At least we wouldn't hear someone call "43's the mike" if Bryan Scott lined up at Edge. What about Scott Radecic? Did he play inside or outside?
  12. That's good to hear. I was surprised to see him make a couple plays vs. IND.
  13. So, Stads, when you're listening to the John Murphy show, you get a little frustrated with the line of questions, right?
  14. Yep. Watched the whole thing. Painful does not begin to express the experience.
  15. Yeah - Ray Lewis territory for sure. I'd be thrilled if he can merely outperform Bradham from 2015.
  16. Jordan Gay - best (only) kick-off specialist in the NFL.
  17. I'd say we are going down from last year, unless our draft is our best ever. Too many holes.
  18. Yes - why root if you don't expect success? We're not some dumpster fire. We'll get there.
  19. This defeats the purpose of the cap, which is essentially macro-level price-fixing. Besides, the movement of players in FA is what helps make the NFL a year round business - something for which the TV networks are willing to pay massively! The "tag" gives enough leverage to organizations to keep their own. Just be glad we aren't in the same boat as Denver re: Von Miller, Brock Osweiller, and Peyton Manning. They could end up losing both quarterbacks and overpaying a LB that could blow a drug test and lose significant playing time! I'm pretty confident that we'll retain our LT and LG. They'll cut or restructure Mario, Graham, and McKelvin. The only starter of consequence that will be lost is Bradham. I think we'll be able to replace him in FA. (He and Mario should check in with The Schwartz in Philly!)
  20. I was very disappointed in Manny's role/performance under Schwartz. I think he was our best LB in the second half of the season, even though he was playing different roles every week. I love to watch the guy run down a play. He looks like he's a machine. His track roots really come out. Definitely smart. Rex even lauded him for his intelligence and comprehension of the scheme.
  21. Trading him to SF would be worse than when Marcus Allen was on the Raiders and Al Davis buried him on the bench because of off-field disagreements.
  22. I agree on Mario. He isn't saying, "I REALLY REALLY want to be in Bufffalo!" He is saying, "I want to look like I want to come back because that is good for my market in FA." Before the "I'll take a paycut" talk, he looked like a selfish whiner. Notice that his comments also included demands - the coaches have to come half-way on the playcalling. When has a coach ever welcomed that type of attitude, especially from a leader? Truth! You can scheme a pass rush in Rex's system on defense. You can't scheme blindside protection and dominant run-blocking on offense.
  23. Especially since he can retire from QB and turn into a top-notch GM! As impressed as I was of Elway the player, I really am surprised by his success in the front office. That is not an easy transition.
