Good Night / Bad Night - Pre Season Game 2
PolishDave replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ya know what? After thinking about it more..... Maybe Beaner is looking to downgrade the offensive line talent too - like he downgraded the wide receiver. Maybe Miller wants to get paid in the future. Doh! -

Agreed. Much better than Ducasse. Still lots of room for improvement. -

Preach! Your posting has been stellar lately. Absolutely jam packed with solid reasoning and evidence to back it up. Good stuff. Great effort. -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre Season Game 2

I don't think a lot of people agree with your assessment of how "good" Miller is. And more importantly, the coaches probably don't agree. They would upgrade from him if they could - just as they would upgrade anywhere on that line. The right side has been the biggest problem the last couple years. This offensive line has a long way to go to be good at pass protection. Fans mentally neglected the offensive line last year because they ran block really well. But pass block - not so much. -

In the defense of Tyrod Taylor...
PolishDave replied to Do The Reich Thing's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If his pocket doesn't break down, I have little doubt that Tyrod will execute the timing passes just fine. The rust will wear off with more and more reps with these new receivers. Tyrod is a much better passer than he is given credit for. I don't think he makes after snap progressions quickly - but I don't think he will be asked to do that. He can throw a quick slant with precision as well as any starter not named Brady. And if for some reason he can't and fails at the timing passes well then....only an idiot coach would force a guy to keep trying to do something he has proven he can't do. A smart coach who wants to win would move away from those plays and run plays that he has full confidence in the QB executing - Or he replaces that QB - But that is assuming the replacement QB actually does execute those plays at a higher level than the guy he is replacing. And I question that. -
According to the noobs - no they would keep him because he must be good because he was a high draft pick. All high draft picks are guaranteed to be franchise QB's. Didn't you know that? ~sarcasm

The other 3 (or whatever) are stuck impaled in somebody's garage wall somewhere.

Dude.... Fishing and camping with no booze. I feel for you man. That is downright harsh. Like a dry wedding that lasts for 4 days. Dang... Did you at least get to play one round of old school Jarts? (the pointy ones you can stab somebody with)

Because some people actually forked out money to go watch their team win this year. Its easy to turn the TV off when you are home. It is not easy to throw away tickets that you paid thousands of $$ for. Yep.

In the defense of Tyrod Taylor...

Yep. Everyone knows if Tyrod keeps playing like he did last night - the coach will replace him sooner rather than later. If Tyrod stinks it up like he did last night in the regular season, it is very likely going to be because of a really, really bad offensive line. We have seen Tyrod be consistently decent when the pass protection is good and even some times when it is not. If that offensive line sucks in pass blocking though, any QB on this roster right now is going to get creamed in the regular season. And Peterman will look even worse getting blitzed by blood thirsty defensive coordinators who like to feast on rookie QB meat. If Tyrod sucks bad going forward into the regular season - this year is going to be a complete dumpster fire. And Dennison, McDermott and Beane will get a lot of the blame. This offense was good last year. -

The Dilemma With Preseason Evals
PolishDave replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is a bummer that their very good backup LT is gone Kouandjio. He is gone because he went bonkers. He was hospitalized for "mental issues". If that hadn't happened, he might still be here. It wasn't chalked up to drunken Tom Foolery. Dude snapped. He's in Detroit now and he is not lighting it up there. -
McDermott did call for a punt inside the opponent's 40 yard line. Very Dick Jauron-ish. All I know is that Pegula isn't going to like it if McDermott and Beane take a decent team that Rex began screwing up and turn that team into a giant dumpster fire in one season. Not saying Pegula would do anything about it in year one obviously, but it helps burns through the bank account of good will that the new coach and GM got when hired. They claim that they are trying to win while building a team. Um....better be able to win some. The team that showed up last night wouldn't win any.

Was I ever an !@#$ to you in some way. I don't think so. You can talk to yourself from now on loser. What are you 6?
-
You can fix the QB situation without tanking. Play your best Qb whoever it is. Oh yeah...and stop downgrading what existing talent you do have. The goal is to upgrade not downgrade.
-
Yeah. They enjoyed them when they were in the worst division in the NFLi with opponents who won 2 or 3 games a season . No Patriots either. And how many Superbowls has Luck been to? And how were they last year? How about this year? And how come they couldn't even beat the friggin Bills? All that agony and still no Superbowls. Throwing a season on purpose is a whiney loser attitude and approach. Why even play the game then. Imagine teaching kids that. Well son, if you don't think you can win, you shouldn't even try. Just quit. Friggin losers.
-
Ask Cleveland how that approach is working out for them. Lets see if Indy goes to the Superbowl this year. They surely should have gotten there by now after bottoming out. That was so worth it for them. Wasn't it? Then they come to Buffalo with their superstar Qb and get their butts kicked by the lowly Buffalo Bills. Losing on purpose is for losers. It doesn't guarantee you anything except a ****ty record and pissed off fans.
-
Which is why the Bills are stupid not to invest in the best offensive line possible. O-line importance is way underrated. Give a guy time to throw and even a Dak Prescott will look great.

Another noob meltdown.
