  1. The bar is Low!!!! I admit it. This is a function of how poorly we have brought in QB prospects as a team. There have been numerous threads about this the past few years. Off the top of my head, NP has looked better than : C. Jones EJ JP The last guy who looked competent was Trent. As a beginner he showed something. Then he took that hit/ concussion and he was finished. Todd Collins? Not!!! Im not saying he’s great or that I know he will do anything. I’m simply asking what young guy has looked better than him? Im hoping for 1 TD, 225 ish leading to an opened up run game and 3 FGs added in there and it’s been a successful debut.
  2. There was talk that they tried to get Hoyer but he turned them down. Screw it!!! We did have an agenda and took ridiculous amounts of condescending, sanctimonious BS for it. TT has finally gotten his comeuppance and a QB is actually slated to start the position. And, NP looks better than any rookie/ young guy , at that position we have had in ove a decade..... maybe two?
  3. One could reasonably argue that TT is an OC killer. Roman got sacked and people are blaming Dennison now. Maybe having a gun ( QB) that doesn’t consistently misfire is important for an offensive scheme?
  4. Here’s my thought process: The D looks shot. I assume McD feels the same. The only way this team gets 4 more wins is if the O gets markedly better. The O line isn’t going to improve markedly. TT isn’t going to improve; therefore the run game isn’t goin g to suddenly busy out. That leaves a Hail Mary to NP starting. He would need to average 3TD/ 1 pick a game to give us a shot IMO. I don’t think this will happen therefore the playoffs are a pipe dream and we might as well accept it and get him experience.
  5. Nope, A couple others have him beat but what do I know? ” I’m a loser baby, so why don’t you troll me.” ?
  6. Over a spent sixth round pick who can’t play the position. I trust McD and Dennison( and my own eyes) to think NP offers as good a chance or better to win this game.
  7. Because, for the second time TT has been benched when the regime decided he wasn’t the guy. The Playoffs were a pipe dream before the season started and still are. The prudent move is to see what your semi promising backup has and set yourself up for next season. This Defense looks shot also.
  8. They were snatching balls out of the air last week ..... when they were finally there to be snatched? KB doesn’t have the best hands on this team. Hes just big. Man, I have enjoyed the heck out of trolling theCowgirl fans for years. Romo was MONEY. Like Cliff Clavin on jeopardy, you just knew it would never end well???
  9. Point being that it takes some cats longer than others. He clearly sucked last year, as a rookie on a bad team but he kept his head down and got the experience.
  10. I’d be surprised. He needs the remainder of the season to grind and see if he can be coached and progress. As Mr. Tuel said, TT is done so let him grind.
  11. But I was repeatedly told that Goff sucked and wouldn’t amount to anything this preseason??? These numbers can’t be right.?
  12. I grew up on Kelly, Marino, Esiason,Montana etc. Those were QBs. They led offenses worth celebrating. I celebrate Phillips’ Defenses. Those were fun to watch. The offense led by Flutie was not exceptional. The idea that Flutie was on the cusp of some miraculous era and he had the rug yanked out from under him is delusional. In the other thread I hoped for 17-25 for 225 and 1 TD from a rookie making his first start! A ROOKIE making his FIRST start. Or as some of you would say, the APEX of QBing?
  13. AS is Benching TT. And there are still a bunch of Butt Hurt TT lovers lingering in the shadows just hoping Peterman fails so they can shout "I told you so!"
  14. 1999 Flutie last 8 starts stats Ravens 155 yards 18of 40 1 TD 3 Picks QBR 32.8 Skins 211 16of22 2 0 133 Phins 157 10of20 1 0 93.1 Jets 220 22of40 1 2 58.3 Pats 207 9of16 2 0 140.6 Giants 184 15of32 1 1 66.5 Cards 239 21of32 2 2 82.7 Pats 212 22of35 0 0 79.7 Total 1585 56.1% 10 8 85.8 2 good games (although 9of16 is sketchy) , Two bad games and a bunch of TTesque Dreck 239 was his highest output. I suppose its gonna be the old, "He was playing within the system" BS? They were 2nd in rushing attempts and scored 15 in the air(13 by Flutie) and 15 on the ground that year. Defense was 2 in points, 1 in yards. These rose colored glasses you all wear when you think back to the Original Saint Doug are sad. He was a crap, weak armed QB which is why the owner decided to force the switch. RJ turned out to be a bum also, this is not my argument.
  15. Not cool!!! Figured at least 9 points from him this week with 15 being a definite possibility
  16. Man , there’s the pump fake but no jump...... or ball for that matter.....?
  17. RJ couldn’t hand the ball off as well as DF? He won with a last minute comeback.
  18. The Defense and ball control run game got us to that game.
  19. So.... Back in the Bledsoe era, the week before we played NE in the second season, I got the name Buffalo Boy by one of the local radio guys as we were arguing about the upcoming Bill-Pats games. It was clearly meant to be pejorative but F him. So I own it. Mark from Charlotte just doesn’t have the same ring. As, already stated RJ turned out to be a Bum. In 98 though he wasn’t terrible when he played. Nor was Flutie. Then Flutie played Miami, Sub 60 Percentage completion, 1 TD, 1 BRUTAL pick and some other bad plays and lost the game. The following year Flutie got “ worser and worser”to use the local vernacular . His nickname could have been “ Bat Down” or “ Jump n Pump@ for that stupid fake he would do. He would not have won the Titans game!!! He had been figured out by the league already and the Titans were playing good D in the playoffs, regardless of what certain posters on here wish to believe.
  20. There are so many questions: How conservative is the game plan? How much latitude are they giving a Rookie at the line of scrimmage? NP has shown the ability to make pre snap reads that seems to already surpass TT. Kinda getting sick of seeing Shady tackled for a loss. Does NP rise to this occasion? There has been no pressure on him till now and he’s appeared fairly composed. Does being a starter change this. Does a bad play or series change this. How does the Oline and receiving Corp react to him. After this weekend we will be able to answer these questions better but I know this. I haven’t looked forward to a game like this for a while.
  21. 17 of 25 for 225. 1 TD, O int. If he does have a pick it’s because our receiver initiates a tip drill. YAC will be better than we’ve seen, markedly. Run game will be 175 including 20+ from QB
