  1. Any word on if the umbrella delivery guy moved their beach chairs? Who knows how far Bradham was pushed here?
  2. No, but I've heard tale. It went something like "We beat the crap out of each other for 80 minutes, then both teams go get hammered together." Funny thing, my 13 year old son just told me he wants to try rugby and we found him a league to play in next season. Good. He could use that in his life. I fought full contact Tae Kwon Do and it was largely the same drill. We got some Mexican fighters so drunk one night they missed their flight home the next day. "¡Una mas tequila, Carlos!" Good times.
  3. That's great. Sounds like you got yourself an alright lady. After we were dating for awhile my then girlfriend, now wife took me back to meet her family. She's from rural Central PA and she was sure I was going to bail. My mom's side of the family is from a couple towns over from hers so I knew exactly what I was in store for. She was so freaked out all weekend. It was hilarious.
  4. I read a post from an Iggles fan years ago and wish I could find it. The thread had to do with fan behavior. He said he was a long time season ticket holder. He avoided taking his girlfriend and eventual wife to a game for years, but finally gave in took her to one. He sat in a rough section. She was appalled at the behavior of the fans there and couldn't believe he had gone there for all of those years with what she saw going on. He wrote that they had had their fair share of issues as a couple, but he was sure that she never looked at him the same way again after that game and it definitely contributed to them getting divorced.
  5. Ravens are desperate for OT help. They've got Stanley, who's a highly drafted rookie, and Wagner. That's pretty much it, unless I'm missing someone. They need insurance for injury or if Stanley isn't ready right off the bat.
  6. And also there is very little else happening in the NFL.
  7. Honestly, how baked are you right now, Koolaid?
  8. Further proof that decent people should avoid Philadelphia and South Beach.
  9. Agreed, mrags. I'll root for Watkins as a Bill, but I'll never care for him as a person. And, yeah, what a stellar university Clemson is.
  10. I really do appreciate the time and effort, TurnerE. Thanks. It's nice to get a good picture of how things are supposed to work.
  11. I'm not sure what one thing has to do with the other. Bell could sue the NFL over confirming the leaked pending suspension, but that doesn't change his guilt/innocence in the matter at hand or consequences for it.
  12. You think you're going to get seven rookie starters (yeah, I'm including the 3rd CB as a starter) from one draft? To save $15M in cap charges? No part of that makes sense.
  13. That's where I am. It's like $40 for my wife, 2 kids and me to eat at 5 Guys. And it's about $30 for us to eat at McDonalds, BK or Wendy's. That extra $10 is money well spent.
  14. Exactly. When Josh Gordon flew to Vegas after the 2014 Browns season a pic appeared on social media of him in flight with a drink. He didn't realize that he was not allowed to drink until the end of the league year, not the end of the Browns season. He was "randomly" tested immediately after landing.
  15. An article stating only those three points would have read much better. That's probably the best case that can be made for him.
  16. The scariest thing happening this football season is the presidential election. Don't knock the high effort girls. There's something to be said for girls that feel they need to put forth the extra effort.
  17. Agreed. I think it gets done. Just prior to training camp is a logical time for negotiations to conclude. I think we are seeing some end-of-negotiations posturing. It is very unlikely that Gilmore would hold out, but threatening to do so might make him a few more bucks. Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to try. There's just too much guaranteed money on the line for Gilmore not to sign. And right before he steps on the practice field is a great time to do it. It's a time when his leverage is about as good as it gets and before he gets on the field and risks injury.
  18. That would probably come down to reasons for the record and how the team was responding to him. I suspect he'd be retained for another season, but on a very hot seat.
  19. Yup. When things heat up like this a deal is often close.
  20. Lotta Kool Aid in that article. Some good points too. 1. Good work ethic - it's good he has it, but it's In the "necessary, but not sufficient" category. 2. Leads by example - that means he's not a vocal leader, but perhaps that changes as he earns his stripes. 3. Growth last season - agreed and he has to continue to grow. 4. Chemistry w/Watkins - sure some was built last season, but Sammy is going to have a short offseason to build more 5. Impressive in OTAs - good, it'd be a big problem if he wasn't. Still, it's a good sign. 6. Summer with the starters - it's good that he's "the guy" from day 1; that's very helpful In building cohesion with his squad. Sammy won't be ther tho. 7. Percy Harvin's replacement - no, he hasn't been found; the WR corps is very shallow after Watkins. 8. Deep ball helps with short throws - dunno about how that. It should've helped last season. He's got to find the short throws for it to help and that's a big area for needed growth. 9. OL returns - great news that Incognito, Wood and Glenn return, but not so much the right side. 10. Roman - yup, he's a good coach.
  21. Agreed. As a player there's much more downside than upside to bringing him back in. Imagine the Bills signing him only to cut him when Karlos comes back. That'd be ugly.
  22. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/these-nfl-teams-will-probably-start-hot-because-of-an-easy-schedule/ Was going to start a thread on this, but I'll stick it here. Fivethirtyeight.com's analysis of the Bills' schedule is showing that it is front loaded a bit. Just something to keep in mind when the season gets underway. A somewhat slow start wouldn't be the end of the world and a fast start would be especially encouraging.
  23. Bill Murray is very high on my list. He is one of the few comedic actors who was able to transition to other kinds of roles. And he's still funny as hell.
  24. Shia LaBeouf. The only exception is Holes, when he was a kid. Couldn't agree more. Awesome movie. Awesome character.
