12/8/24 Game 14 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Rams post game Thread
fergie's ire replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Have we changed our mind about Mcdermott again? Three losses this year and two are the direct result of poor coaching decisions at the end of the game. Such an annoying way to lose a good game. -

In order for me to get behind Cine, someone has to teach me how to pronounce his name. Does it sound like sign? seen? Kine? -

I think that's exactly right and I think malleability is the key difference between Brady and Dorsey. Dorsey seemed to take adjusting as a sign of weakness..wanted to "impose his will." The snow games (last week and playoffs against Cincinnati) are a key example. Dorsey ran the same routes the Bills always run even though they weren't effective in the snow and Brady morphed his offense to make it a perfect snow attack. -

Agreed. But the Bills offense is weird, which is why opposing fans don't worry (but I think they should). It doesn't SEEM like the Bills are doing a lot and then end up with over 30 pts every game. Last game there was the Cook run and the lateral so some really exciting plays, but even after the Chiefs game I heard mutterings (on this board and elsewhere) that the Bills offense still didn't look that great. Yet they put up 30 on a Chiefs d that hadn't given up more than 28 in two years. It doesn't look like they are doing a lot and then you look up at the scoreboard and "Hmmmm, they put up 30 again." -

He is there for emergencies, and to help coach up younger guys, but I also think he is there for Micah. I think this team is beginning to really believe they are going to the Super Bowl and I think part of the reason they signed Micah was to bring him along for the ride...as someone who deserves to join in. -

I saw the dive...and I think I heard the DE yell "Oh no...." just as he dove short of Josh. -

And credit to Brady, too. I remember after the Bengals playoff game one of their players talked about how bills were running routes that don't work in the snow. Tonight Collinsworth kept saying they were running simple high school plays...that were perfectly suited for the conditions. -
Or worse, Feb. 9th, 2025.

I've been reminded of this repeatedly over the last week. Almost every team I wanted to win was a bad team and watching them is so frustrating and annoying. How did we do it for so many years? Or he just knows which way the wind blows. -

I think the laughing face is because they DID break it out. Throwback to Singletary I think? Total disaster. Please don't do that again. -

I didn't see this was a reply to my post and thought it was in response to the snow! I guess it is looking festive on multiple levels. -

My favorite is from his rookie year. The touchdown to Foster in the Jaguars game. The pocket completely collapses around him (what an O-line that year...woof) and all you can see is his arm sticking out of the middle of the pack and he fires it like 40 yards downfield and hits Foster in stride...just an unreal throw. -

Phew. Good think Kedarius Toney's no longer on the team.

I'm not a Dr and don't even play one on TV but my own experience makes me wonder about a rotator cuff injury. My shoulder felt fine doing just about anything but if I tried to throw it was extremely painful.

I don't know....the gates of hell?

I said IF...IF THEY LOSE...and I kind of agree about 49ers...they are on that desperate rally/season implosion razor's edge. But I think IF the Bills beat the 49ers it just takes a ton of pressure off...particularly if the Chiefs and Steelers lose a couple.
-
14 is what I was thinking. If that's the case then if they can beat SF and the Rams then they can loose to the Lions and sweep the Pats and Jets. Of course, the dream scenario is winning out and clinching before the last week. That way they could rest starters who would then have 3 weeks rest going into the playoffs.

I, too, am pretty old and I remember about 1980 some Ithaca College kids on Halloween dressed up as KKK members escorting a guy in black face and chains who was carrying a sign saying "Eat at Sambos." They were all suspended and a few were expelled. Even though the things you say were true back then, even then we knew that racially insensitive jokes were not cool and making them had consequences. People have this sense that 50 years ago we could dress in black face or make jokes that make an allusion (intentional or not) to lynching and everyone would laugh and be okay with it. That just wasn't the case.

Worse. He probably said something smart to Rodgers.

I don't think it was so much that Romo saw the line struggling. It was more like he felt that Jones was getting close and he couldn't believe that the Bills would be foolish enough to block Jones one on one because nobody is good enough to do that and eventually Jones would destroy some Bills plays....but the disaster never came.
