  1. You forgot to mention that 75% of the guys taken this weekend will be out of the NFL 3-4 years down the line. The pros may have a lot more information than we do, but they're far from infallible themselves. Given that, the fans would seem to have some right to criticize, even if they're often uninformed or misinformed.
  2. He's always been considered an underachiever. I don't mind passing on Davis at all, but I think we probably should've tried to get one of the higher rated guys earlier, even if through trade. Oh well, nothing that can be done about it now.
  3. I'd like to see them add some kind of backup plan for the redzone, probably another WR. I'm expecting DT or LB, though this late and with the talent available, it may indeed be the best choice.
  4. The sum of the two phases of the offseason is less than the value of the individual parts, IMO. They got a lot of good players and prospects, they just concentrated all of it on one side of the ball. The other is probably still going to borderline suck.
  5. Taken alone, they've added good players in both the draft and free agency. Put them together, though, and it paints a picture of a team that didn't do enough offensively to be competitive, IMO.
  6. Its just an awful lot of frustration built up over the last several years. I'm sick and tired of seeing this team lose because the offense, particularly the passing game, is a joke. Its like 'here we go again.' Hardy will help, no doubt, but I've seen them try to slap on a single token bandaid too many times in the past to be anything but skeptical. I like this draft as a whole, but just feel that overall, this team has not done enough offensively in the draft AND free agency to be competitive.
  7. Happy with the draft alone? Yes. Happy with the free agency period alone? Yes Happy with the two together? Not so much.
  8. Taken alone, I don't mind the Reggie Corner pick. This one seems to have 'tossing darts at the draftboard' written all over it. Been wrong before, hopefully I am about this one, too.
  9. There's you're token try-to-make-the-fans-happy kind of pick. 6'2, runs a 4.8 40, averaged 8 yards per catch this year. Sigh...
  10. Its not the 2nd CB that bothers me. Its that here were are, through free agency, through the better portions of the draft and with the crapulent disaster that is this offense, what did they do? They added one WR. And Hardy is a great pick, don't get me wrong, but again, what happens if he doesn't make an impact this year. They have absolutely no fall-back positions. No TE help to speak of. No OL upgrades or even an attempt at quality depth. Nothing. I'm sure they'll add a few bandaids here late, but its frustrating as all hell. I've been very, very forgiving of this staff, but if this offense craps out again this year, when it was obviously horrid in '07, I'm not going to be very happy at all.
  11. Agreed. I have absolutely nothing against the guy they picked, but they need a lot of help offensively, and while a 3rd-7th rounder won't immediately start, they certainly won't 2-3 years down the line if you don't draft them at all! This is what frustrates me about it. A guy picked this late probably won't start this year, but the Bills are giving themselves NO options 2-3 years down the road, either, by ignoring these positions.
  12. The Bills aren't going to pick a TE until R6 or 7. The next pick will be a LB or DT.
  13. No I hope everyone likes defense, because its going to be on the field 40 minutes per game again this year, especially if Hardy is a little slow to adjust or gets hurt. The Bills appear to have put all of their eggs in one basket.
  14. You're right to a point, but for crying out loud, eventually, at the very least, you need to start bringing in some developmental players offensively.
  15. They've taken 6 defensive backs in the first four rounds since 2006. If their secondary depth stinks, its their own fault for drafting poorly.
  16. Two words: Dick Jauron. The Bills have now drafted 6 defensive backs in the first four rounds since 2006. I'm not surprised, though. Its typical of the Bills' style. Make a token addition to the offense, draft a bunch of depth defensively, then looked befuddled as all hell when the offense can't do squat this year. I love the Hardy pick, don't get me wrong. It just isn't enough.
  17. No big deal. Our street free agents are great players.
  18. Or perhaps they just can't play. And there are plenty of teams in the league that know how valuable a receiving TE can be. He doesn't have to start.
  19. Well, we've dropped the Pats from scoring 50 ppg against us to about 35. Meanwhile, we've upgraded our offense from 15 ppg to about 20. We're gettin' there.
  20. That's pretty sad considering that Teyo can barely stay in the league.
  21. Not surprising at all. This is nothing against the guy they took, but the Bills just don't give a about the TE position. Then, they'll wonder why their passing game sucks again this year. Hello, Bills, its because you can't threaten the middle half of the field!
  22. The problem is that we're unlikely to get a complete TE this far into the draft. Given that, I'd put the priority towards a receiver at the position, with Royal as the blocker. Not an ideal solution, but it would help.
  23. I'll grant you that Davis is a bit enigmatic, but Rucker? Yes, blocking will be an issue, but as a receiver, its hard to argue that he's been anything but productive.
  24. Yeah, Rucker would be a nice pick here, as well as Kellen Davis.
