  1. Here we go...Devin Thomas to Washington.
  2. Pretty much all of them except New Orleans and perhaps Green Bay.
  3. Donnie Avery to the Rams. I like that pick a lot more than everyone else probably will. I thought he'd get lost in the shuffle with all of these taller guys and go in R3 and seeing him go in the 30s doesn't surprise me. I am surprised that he's the first WR off the board, though.
  4. Yep. They've probably got two or three rated about the same and as long as two of them are still on the board, they'll just keep waiting.
  5. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them go TE at 41.
  6. Well, its official. No WR in R1 for the first time since 1990.
  7. 30+ career sacks in a major conference. Hardly a reach. Lawrence Jackson will be a good player in the NFL.
  8. Its definitely a bit odd, though there's no doubt whatsoever that OBD had better information as to who would go where in this draft. I'm very, very surprised, though, that 28 picks into this thing, no one wants a tall, fast, athletic WR. That's highly unusual. These guys typically fly off the board and that past tendency has been one of the reasons I thought the Bills would have to draft a WR early, whether at 11 or trading back a bit. I'm not sure whether this is a good thing or not. It may mean that the Bills get an excellent WR prospect at a bargain price or it may just mean that these guys really do suck. Usually when tall, highly rated WRs fall, its because they can't play at all.
  9. 2005 or 2006. It was the year Pittsburgh took Santonio Holmes.
  10. That's what I'm expecting. Initially, I thought they'd be better off picking a TE at 41 if they went CB in R1, but now that it appears a quality WR prospect *may* still be on the board, that may not be the case. Then again, if these bigger WRs are falling like this, the words Dewayne Jarrett are starting to come to mind.
  11. It depends upon whether or not they have a specific WR in mind. If they do, it certainly may be time to start working the phones.
  12. I'd toss in Baltimore, Miami and Atlanta. Kansas City might pick one as well.
  13. Not satisfied to reach for Chris Henry in R2 last year, the Titans decide to do it again.
  14. You'd think so, but who knows at this point. You'd think someone would be willing to take a risk on a tall, fast, athletic WR. Either the busts of recent years have scared teams off, or there's a feeling that these guys aren't just unworthy of a first, they're just not any good, period.
  15. I guess that depends. If Devin Thomas, Limas Sweed or one of the other guys turns out to be an All Pro, that might be in question.
  16. Yes, because drafting a WR in R2 and another in R4-5 when we've been in the bottom 25 in passing for the last 5 years is such a horrific idea.
  17. I guess it all comes down to the old rule of thumb when predicting the Bills pick. When in doubt, go with the defensive back. They love 'em.
  18. I'm not sure that either one is a legitimate starter. In fact, I'm pretty sure they aren't. Assuming they get the 5th-8th WR off the board at 41, I think they'll probably have to draft another one fairly high as an insurance policy in case the first one sucks.
  19. Well, I thought this would be Thomas. Looks like Aquib Talib. BTW, anyone see the price tag the Panthers paid for that 19th pick. A 2009 first rounder plus some change.
  20. I don't hate it, I'm just kind of indifferent to it. I am worried as all hell that this team won't be able to improve its offense, though. I was worried about that enough before they drafted D at 11. I have very little confidence in their ability to draft and develop offensive players outside of R1, especially with a defensive-minded coaching staff in place.
  21. No WRs have been taken yet, but no one expected a WR to go before 17 if the Bills passed, anyway. Now it gets interesting.
  22. McKelvin? Its an OK pick. He's better than what the Bills have, no question, but given how conservatively the Bills always play their CBs, and the fact they never re-sign them, AND the fact that I've seen more dynamic passing attacks at the local high school, this isn't a pick I can get overly excited about. Hopefully they can find some help offensively later in this draft. I'm not that optimistic, unfortunately.
  23. I can buy that. If they stay at 41, I expect the top WRs to be long gone. If that's the case, the pick will probably be a receiving TE. Fred Davis?
  24. That's very possible, but with 30 picks between, its also possible that every one of them (plus a few) are gone when they select again at 41. Hopefully, they made the right decision, but we'll see.
  25. I hope you're right. I'm not so much disappointed in the pick of McKelvin as I am concerned that the Bills will not be able to acquire some significant help for their passing game. If they don't do that, I think you can pretty much write '08 off before it begins. Of course, I also expect that this will be almost a straight offensive draft the rest of the way. If not, they're (probably) nuts.
