  1. I don't agree that it will be hard to hire a competent coach, but both Marrone and Mularkey turned down a HC job in Buffalo. Not saying it's Pegula's fault, but it has happened.
  2. i recognize Taylor's shortcomings like everyone else does, but as has been said many times, offense isn't our problem. I don't get the hate for TT. Especially with no obvious better replacement on the roster or as far as we know , readily available. 3 more years.
  3. don't know anything about him, but is this really that hard to believe, I could have guessed Schwartz in my sleep.
  4. it's called 'renegotiation' - as in you negotiate all over again and sign a new contract. If they don't agree on a renegotiated deal, the current one stays in place. I woudn't be confident in bringing in Glennon or any other QB that sat on the bench for 2 years. Flaws and all, our offense is pretty solid when healthy, and pretty decent when not. If you bring him in as a backup , ok, but I would spend all our energies on getting a strong coaching staff with a strong DC. As many have posted, this offense with an even marginally better defense has us in the playoffs.
  5. But was it a smart move? Jury is out. Wentz isn't anything special, yet.
  6. In those 6 years this GM has watched over a #4 ranked defense and now a top 10 offense with the best rushing attack 2 years running. Imagine if he was able to choose a coach that fit in with the type of players he acquired.
  7. Like him or not, Whaley is leading the coaching search. This is the correct move by the Pegula's. GM needs to pick his coach and there never should be a debate about that.
  8. How ridiculous to think that an owner of a sports franchise would tell the public about the thinking inside the administration. It would be so reckless to do that. You can't be serious.
  9. I agree with both points, but don't find either of them damning to TT or Lynn. Just precaution.
  10. I think it's a sign that they aren't committed to this contract. They may want input from the new HC or they may want to renegotiate in order to keep him but at a more team friendly rate. They still have no other options at QB as of now. Covering their bases. This makes sense.
  11. I understand it's tricky to assess kickers, but when you see signs of weakness, you need to act quickly. Going back in time, Norwood should have been released the year of Super Bowl XXV, it was obvious at the time he was aging and his leg was losing strength. Don't wait too long again please.
  12. Seems like a fair standard. I agree with you.
  13. what do you consider easy? XP's? 45 yards?
  14. You seemed to imply that by excusing his misses as 'all kickers miss'. I never said a new kicker would be automatic either. I'm just looking for someone better. Just curious, what would cause you to lose faith in a kicker enough to make a change. Can't have such a mentally weak kicker, if what you say is true.
  15. So it's ok if our kicker misses OT or final second kicks to win games? Do you not think the team should find a better kicker?
  16. How many of the misses of other kickers cost their teams a chance to win. Without even looking, I have Seattle and Miami for us. Those 2 put us in the playoffs. Are you saying we should address all those isssues, except the K issue? Would have been a helluva lot better if Norwood made the kick. Big deal he took questions. They were probably stupid questions anyway. And 'for hours'? Really?
  17. I wasn't a big fan of Marrone, but I didn't want him to opt out. Thought the team needed help on offense and we'd be a solid contender. However, he quit and whatever reason you think it may be, you don't know. I can't imagine any scenario that he would want to come back or be welcomed back. It just makes no sense at all to even consider this. You often make solid points in your posts, you missed big time here.
  18. I'm guessing his contract is guaranteed and with language that he picks his staff. I have to assume the decision has already been made. If he is staying, we'll probably hear it Sunday after the game. If not, Monday.
  19. I think if the Bills have no plans to keep EJ next season, Jones should be active for the game. Not saying he definitely plays, but there'd be no reason for EJ to play, even if he is better than Jones at this point.
  20. and because QB play cost denver a chance to defend their championship.
  21. apparently not good enough for many posters here. I wish we had him.
  22. I'm guessing Kubiak in Denver would love to have him.
  23. If you get suckered in , that's your own fault. Some people will follow the team win or lose and that's ok. When I lived in Buffalo, I was a season ticket holder from 1977 to 1999, lot of crappy years in there. I didn't pay attention to what the team said. My season ticket fee was in my budget year after year, regardless. i just followed the team and wanted to be at every game. Some fans just choose to follow their team.
  24. Who do you replace him with? Do you think that anyone will be an upgrade?
