  1. This isn’t good. Ownership is the single most important factor of a team and so many people don’t even realize that. Every person, from GM, to coach, to scout, to concession manager are responsible for carrying out ownership’s vision/goals. I have no idea if Bezos will be good. I know Woody Johnson is a disaster.
  2. Buffalo has been hit and miss with minor league sports. The Bandits get phenomenal support. There was some stat last year that was like “their lowest attended game was more attended than the highest attended game anywhere else in the league.” Before someone tries to come with the “that’s not a minor league sport,” it is. There are 4 major professional team sports. Maybe someday the MLS will make 5. Everything else is a minor league. There have been others that have come and gone. The Destroyers, Stallions, Wings and Blizzard all come to mind. The Bisons are hanging around. I just don’t see this minor league football thing working in Buffalo. It’s a pass from me.
  3. I’ll take the under. The Bills had 1 player listed on some of the NFL top 100 players (a different list had Dawkins at like 95 too). They aren’t sending 8 guys to the Pro Bowl. Josh, one of the tackles, maybe Cook or Shakir, maybe Rousseau feels safe. Benford doesn’t have the picks. Bernard has a case too but has some missed time. Taron is the same. They’ll have like 4 guys go. It’s a popularity contest based on reputation. These Bills players, outside of Josh, Dawkins and Taron, don’t have reputations.
  4. I was the same way towards them for most of my life. In 2019, they came to New Orleans for a game. It was normal to see opposing fans come to New Orleans for a game. It happened all of the time. It is an elite away game trip. I remember, in my 14 years living there, the 49ers fans were the most obnoxious. That was surprising to me. They were worse than Dallas. They were even worse than Philly which was a little shocking to me. After that weekend, I had a new found dislike for that franchise.
  5. Load the box and sell out to stop the run. Making a team one-dimensional is what you want in the nfl. They don’t have Lamar to also account for.
  6. This is always one of my favorite takes. Why do we want to play against a team that’s better? 😂😂 Does the win count more if they have Bosa and Purdy? I thought that we were past the days of the insecure Bills fans, desperate for approval from the outside? This is so dumb. The goal is to win. The more people that they have out, the easier that is.
  7. I may live to regret this but, give me Pittsburgh in the playoffs. That’s as close to a bye as you’re getting. That offense, in that weather, can’t score enough if you take care of the football.
  8. The Peterman defenders and excuses were hilarious. If you watched him ever try to throw an out, you could tell he had ZERO chance of ever being able to play in the NFL. That holds especially true in a place like Buffalo. He’s arguably the worst of all-time (his numbers were I don’t know if they still are). Either way, we’ve come a long way from that.
  9. That’s a great point. They were bad for Baltimore and horrible at Houston. In hindsight, they still had a very good chance to win that game. The bad stretches have been fewer than any team in the league with the exception of Detroit. By contrast, the New Orleans Saints have spent more time with the lead this year than the Kansas City Chiefs.
  10. I have been a McDermott detractor for the last 4-5 years. With that being said, this is, by far, his best coaching job yet. He’s been really good all year. They’ve overcome a roster turnover, and injuries. The record is the best that it’s been in 30+ years. He absolutely belongs in the COY conversation. I’m not sure where I’d have him but certainly top 5. I think, for me, Tomlin is 1. I don’t think that team is particularly talented, and, he made the controversial QB switch that worked. He deserves it. Campbell has been a popular name and he deserves consideration as well. His roster however is elite. He’s winning a lot but should with that talent. He’s in the mix. McDermott, Gannon, Payton and Jim Harbaugh would be the others for me. I’d have Tomlin 1 and the other group in whatever order you wanted.
  11. I think that this is an interesting conversation. I actually think that I agree. It’s crazy to consider that, but on a Bills team with the window open, minimal holes, and lots of draft capital, securing the best kicker in football would be worth it. On paper, it’s an overpay. I value an elite kicker, for this team, more than a depth player that could develop into a starter. The Bills have been incredible at finding depth (it’s the elite talent they’ve had a hard time finding).
  12. Josh, Shakir, Samuel, Cam Lewis, Bernard, coaching staff
  13. Not much to say but WOW. In the grand scheme, the game may not matter. The energy in that stadium today was at a level that rivals any game that I can recall (and I’ve been to somewhere between 250 & 300 games there). Just an INCREDIBLE atmosphere. I’ll remember that game, and that play, for a long, long time. Special
  14. Having a number 1 WR is nice. 2 massive plays from Cooper
  15. Taron Johnson is the only other guy that is irreplaceable. They have some quality young players. Bernard would probably be next for me. Rousseau is having a really good year but he seems like a really good player, not a dominant star. Spencer Brown is probably the other guy to consider in that tier. Shakir is a perfect fit with Allen as well. In summation: Irreplaceable - Allen & Taron Have to be blown away - Bernard, Rousseau, Brown, Shakir Edit: I forgot Benford. He would be in the 2nd group as of now. He has a chance to be in the 1st tier. A shutdown CB1, that’s young, is very valuable.
  16. Yeah, that’s why I’m saying “best case.” We want Pittsburgh to win that division (at least IMO). We want to avoid Cincy & Baltimore in the WC. We want to avoid Arrowhead in the Divisional Round. I’m not sure that is all realistic but if we are looking at best path, that’s what it would be IMO.
  17. I don’t believe catching the Chiefs is realistic unless Mahomes goes down. The Bills schedule is pretty difficult. I think that they probably lose a couple more games even if they beat the Chiefs. I’m not sure that the Chiefs have 2 or 3 other losses left. With that being said, the 2 seed is very much in play. The great part about it is that the NFL reseeds. I think that you hope for Denver/Indy/Jets/Miami in round 1. There is a chance that Baltimore or Cincy (if they get the 6th seed)is the lowest seed left after round 1. If that’s the case, they’d go to KC. The Bills could end up with Pittsburgh or Houston in Buffalo, in round 2, if things worked out perfectly. I would say that’s best case. If Baltimore or Cincy wins in Arrowhead, the Bills would host the AFC Championship against them. So, in this case, your path might be Denver, Houston and Baltimore, all at home. That feels about as good as you’re going to get.
  18. Mack has been really good the last few weeks.
  19. Josh has that look so far. He gets it once or twice a year. He needs to get in the game.
  20. I am good with it. He can stretch the field. He’s a high 4.3 - low 4.4 guy. I still think field stretching is necessary moving forward. The Bills have been creative but have an ungodly amount of throws within 5 yards of the LOS. Marcel Louis-Jacques tweeted last week that 32 of 39 throws were 5 air yards or less!! It worked. They’ve been good at stretching the field horizontally but still need to stretch it vertically. Virgil is a part-time player but can add an element.
  21. This is where I’m at as well. I always say you need to worry about getting in the playoffs before worrying about seeding. I don’t want the Bengals in either. Let’s bury them and then worry about seeding.
  22. This isn’t true. I worked for the Benson’s for a brief period. Gayle’s health is fine. She is 77. The team won’t be sold until after she passes. That could be 15+ years from now.
  23. I guess for me, the Dolphins are a bigger threat than the Jets. What’s happened the last few years though is tough to overlook. Maybe they can get back to a 10 win team with some changes to the OL & D. I just don’t believe in them. That feels like their absolute ceiling and it doesn’t seem like that window will be around long. Maybe next year? At some point Tyreek & Ramsey are cooked. They have a ton of money tied up in an average, to slightly above average, QB. It just doesn’t feel like that team can compete with the Bills at any point soon. The Pats have the “unknown” element. They have a young QB that looks like he may be the 2nd best QB in the division relatively soon. They have a young star CB, boatloads of cap space and early picks. If they get competent coaching (TBD) and do well with their asset allocation, it won’t be hard to go by both Miami & NY.
