That’s not too far from where I am. Saffold, James and Tyrell Williams would be my ideal FA start. I’d be tempted to swing at Eiffert knowing that he is never healthy. I think all of that is relatively realistic. They need to let the draft come to them.

Bandit, I’m curious to hear your initial thoughts on the 2019 offseason and the Bills? I don’t want to put you on the spot but your thoughts are valued.

2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects
Kirby Jackson replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
This situation looks WAY worse for Applewhite IMO. It’s a really, really stupid rule. He went all the way to taking the coat off the guy in the ultimate power struggle!! He looked like an umpire or referee that tries to flex his power. He was Joey Crawford. -
He is a full grown man. He has also been at his best in their biggest games (at least from the little that I know about him). He is 6’6” and 225 lbs. He runs and sub-4.5 40 and is averaging almost 23 yards per catch!! That’s pretty crazy. I wouldn’t hate him at all.

I think that we all agree with that. The problem is he may not be out there this year.

I can answer this (kind of). There used to be a rink in BR. It closed within the last year. The closest rink to New Orleans is in Lafayette (which is about 2 hours). I don’t know what’s going on in North LA but I doubt it’s much different.

Tre White is special. That guy has so much personality. He’s one of my favorite players that we have had in a long, long time.

Is this a playoff team with Tyrod?

We were up 31 at halftime. We may have beaten them with Peterman on that day. That Jets team wasn’t beating ANYBODY on that day. They quit. -

This is where I’m at. Houston is the only win that I’d add. It’s not a playoff team. -

Not happening....if they draft Jonah or Trey Adams it is with the intent of playing LT -
I actually think that Jones has some “Mahomes rise” to him. I think that there’s a chance that Herbert stays in school but i think Jones climbs during the process. It’s already starting.

Usually the trade ups happen when there is about to be a drop off at a certain position. Last year there was a big drop after Davenport and Edmunds IMO. A team may trade up for Baker (around where we will pick) or even Daniel Jones (who I think will end up as QB 1). Not a ton though, the scouting book on this class was completed almost a full year ago. They scout a year in advance. There will be some movement but with only a couple of weeks left there isn’t going to be a ton of movement.

There are going to be a BUNCH of WR ranked between 20 and 100. Here are 13 between 19-99. https://www.drafttek.com/m/Top-100-NFL-Draft-Prospects-2019.asp. It is definitely possible for the Bills to secure 2 of those guys. Good teams don’t reach (ever). This draft will be dominated by defensive talent in the 1st and open up from there. Every draft has different strengths and this is on the DL. I’d bet my first born that AT LEAST 22 of the 32 1st round picks are defense. It is likely even more (closer to 25).

For what it’s worth there should be really strong value in rounds 2 and 3 there IMO. I said it in one of the college threads but it feels like there are a lot of “Robert Woods type” of WRs to me. There are a bunch of guys that will be like 60 catch, 800 yard, 6 or 7 TD guys. We could conceivably get 2 of them. If you pair them with Zay and another guy from FA (Tyrell Williams maybe) you have a functioning WR room.

I may be the only person on this board that wouldn’t hate it. CB2 is the biggest (and only) real hole at the present time on defense. It would give the Bills a chance to have an elite defense like the Seahawks were. At the moment, every important throw goes right at CB2. In addition, the value will be there. He’s universally thought of as a top 5 pick. I would much rather take him there than the 23rd best player in the draft because he plays offense. Assuming that a trade trade down isn’t an option this wouldn’t be bad at all IMO. We can then go offense from there. This holds especially true if they nab a couple of FA starters on offense. I think that they have a chance to add 2 starting OL and potentially a rotational WR in FA.

It has nothing to do with race. It has to do with a long shot scrub replacing a functioning QB in the midst of a playoff chase. Peterman was terrible and continued to get opportunities that other long shots (regardless of race) didn’t get. Levi Brown and Jeff Tuel were also scrubs that washed out. Tuel was WAY better than NP in his 1 opportunity. Peterman had a job that he didn’t deserve and was paid a lot of money to do that job. No one owes him anything. He sucked and is now out of the NFL (where he belongs).
