We have another trade. The Dolphins have traded 18, 70 and 185 to Tampa for pick 14. With the 14th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Jerry Jeudy WR, Alabama We feel good about the start to this draft. We have a top 4 OT, a top 3 WR and our QB of the future. @whatdrought and the broncos are on the clock -

You know he’s from Buffalo right?!? You can’t talk bad about him unless he plays for the Pats. -
That’s what I believe too and the @thebandit27 point Miller always has bad rumors. He’s a good scout but bad on this stuff. I kind of feel the same way on the Herbert to Miami smoke out there now. That has to be for Tua to slide, no?

It sounds like his medical evaluation was a nightmare. He could certainly go somewhere and not make it because of injury. There’s a MASSIVE injury risk with him. I guess to me I see an elite prospect other than that. I’d take my chances with someone with lesser ability and cleaner health. You might be right though. Either way after Burrow this QB class is nothing but questions. -

Oh I know!! I offered 5, 18, 37 and a 2021 first for 1 and was denied. FWIW, I think Miami makes that same offer to the Bengals and gets the same answer. Then I saw that trade for Tua and was like, “welp I guess I’ll say he failed his physical.” This start was the worst case scenario for Miami IMO. I hope that this is how it plays out, only I hope that they take Herbert. -

I just don’t think Herbert is good. I believe he’s a guy that the media is higher on than teams. He’s this year’s Rosen IMO. I would have taken Tua and made a big offer to get to 1 (that’s why I wanted Miami). I also thought about not taking a QB and saying that Miami signed Cam but that would REALLY have ruined the draft. I’m convinced that they are taking QB at 5. Love is the guy, imo, with the tools to be great. He could be terrible too. After Lamar and Mahomes though teams are more likely to take the high ceiling prospect imo. I had made an offer using next year’s pick ?? -

With the 5th pick in the NFL Draft the Miami Dolphins select Jordan Love, QB, Utah State. Love recently moved to the number 2 QB on our board. After seeing Patrick Mahomes first 2 years, the Dolphins couldn’t pass on the talent and risk him not getting to 18. @TPS and the Los Angeles Chargers are on the clock. -

Saw this tweet and didn’t see a thread like this. If there is one feel free to merge.

and the Layoffs begin @ Pegula Sports

Talking strictly business operations. This has nothing to do with team performance (although it does make one’s job easier). Basically sponsorships, branding, tickets, community relations, government relations, customer service, and stadium/arena operations would fall under that umbrella. Team performance often masks the deficiencies or successes on the business side. For years the best run NBA teams on the business side were the Suns, Twolves and Lebronless Cavs. The weakest were probably the Lakers and Bulls. They just didn’t have the challenges that others did and never had to evolve. When things are going well, as they are with the Bills, everything looks fine on the outside. When things go poorly, like with the Sabres, these issues are highlighted. Admittedly, a lot of my perception is from anecdotal stories from people within PSE. These people though, in many cases, have been with other organizations. You see the differences between good and bad. The Bills were a well-oiled machine in this department for years despite the mess in the other half of the building. Now the roles are reversed. -

He has spent about 10% of the time around there that he used to. That’s where this is coming from. -

Not a bad guess but no. He’s experienced but very weak IMO. Additionally, he’s basically a part of the Benson family. He’d be an upgrade but that would be like upgrading to Marcus Mariota. PSE needs someone younger and more innovative. That’s been floated out a few times recently. I can’t speak to that directly but it’s certainly possible. Apparently, they’ve treated the Sabres as a stepchild over the last few years. -

A lot of people are laying off and/or furloughing employees that’s not uncommon right now. With that being said, I’m on record, years ago, for saying that the Pegulas didn’t know how to run the business side of sports. Everyone hated Russ Brandon but he was really the man making those organizations go from that side. I know a LOT of people with both the Bills and Sabres and that’s 100% true (and has been forever). Now they had no choice but to let him go with what was going on. However, they let other strong business minds walk out of the door as well. Now you are seeing the results. There are/were 30+ people between those 2 organizations more capable of running the business than Terry and Kim. Of course they have the right to take control as it’s their money. At the same time you don’t see other owners running the day-to-day in many cases. The Pegulas taking control, especially of the Sabres, has been a nightmare. Forntunately, on the Bills side, they have such a strong football ops department it has insulated the other half of the operation (business operations). The Bills product, and brand, are so strong right now they will be fine. If we get back to a decade ago though the house of cards on the business side will come crashing down as well. They desperately need to hire someone to fill the role that Russ held. The need a high end sports executive to come in and really own the day-to-day. I have someone in mind but don’t know if he’d be interested. He currently holds that position elsewhere but would be EXACTLY what they need. -
Jay Glazer: I will break big, national news tomorrow
Kirby Jackson replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I bet it’s going to be something to do with the draft and money for COVID-19 research. He said that it was good news. My guess is that the NFL sets up a large fund to support the cause. -
I’m kind of expecting them to grab one of the top guys. It’s the last glaring hole on the roster and there are 5 RBs that will go between picks 20 and the end of round 2.

Or from UGA? OSU is going to have QBs that played there selected in the 1st round in 3 straight drafts.
