  1. In his defense, run blocking put them way behind the sticks, then a well-thrown ball was dropped on second and long. Not many plays in the playbook for 3rd and 15. I thought he did well all things considered.
  2. Why is Daboll still our OC? No matter who the QB is, our offense stinks.
  3. Can Daboll be fired mid season? Off sides, holding, illegal formation, ruined rookie quarterback. I wouldn't even care.
  4. Yeah, I live in Lawrenceburg, IN, right outside Cincinnati, so I am about an hour away or so.
  5. Hey Guys - anybody planning on going to the Colts game in Indy? Was wondering if anybody has been to the stadium, knows where the best cheap seats are, or if you know which section there will be a lot of bills fans. Thanks in advance!
  6. I think McBean has a thing for tall WRs just like there was in Carolina, but for some reason he hasn't found out having a rocket arm QB with tall WRs doesn't really mean anything if none of them are talented.
  7. I agree with all points maybe except for the secondary. It's easy to grade individual performances but a little bit more difficult to generalize in a pre season game as far as depth is concerned. By that, I mean we were probably playing a base vanilla defense (4-3) vs. 3 or 4 wide receiver sets sometimes and there just isn't enough athleticism out there to keep up. I would look more for places where somebody obviously blew their assignment than just giving a blanket statement of "all of our backup secondary".
  8. I know I'm going to come off as a negative-Nelly, and I obviously wish Allen all the good fortune in the world and I hope he leads us to 20 super bowls, but a severely dislike taking quarterbacks with "a high upside but need some work". Wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more quarterbacks than not don't fix the issues and go right back to what they know and their athleticism / second nature when the pocket starts to break down, which this is the NFL so that happens 80% of the time. I would rather have a quarterback that is ready to play quarterback and might talk crap about the president every now and again. Tom Brady was tied to the president and he doesn't get crapped on, "Oh, Tom Brady is too political".
  9. no I agree, that's why I would like us to keep 22 and possibly grab 3-4 best TE in the 3-5 rounds.
  10. Why is nobody talking about getting a Tight End in the draft like we always are? I think if we draft a QB high, let's get a top tier TE along with a WR for our new QB. I would like a young TE that our QB can grow with like a Zach Ertz / Carson Wentz situation. I would also LOVE to off-load Charles Clay 9M price tag for his mediocre production and open up some more cap space to go full-hog in FA next year. How about getting a Mike Gesicki in the second or third?
  11. I would love Bradford. He does have some issues staying on the field, but that's why we draft for our future QB hopefully in the near future, even if it does end up being Peterman. I think Bradford is a great pure pocket passer. He makes a lot, if not all of the throws that Tyrod either doesn't make or refuses to try. He has a great touch pass and great anticipation. He throws receivers open. The only thing is we obviously don't have the receiving corps that the Vikings have, obviously. It almost angers me matching these Vikings highlights. Diggs, Thielen, Rudolph, Patterson when he was there. They all find the soft spots in coverage, make contested catches, catch with their hands, and come back to the football on comeback routes. Something our receivers basically never do, which was the reason for Peterman's interception in the playoff game. I think Bradford would be a wise investment on a 3-5 year contract.
  12. Romo was straight calling out Taylor for not being able to read a defense during the game. Any other decent quarterback would have been able to read the defense and put up 10 points on the Jags. We needed 11 to win the game.
  13. I don't want to make this sound like a postmortem, I want us to go to the Super Bowl and win it along with any other fan and think we have a legitimate shot at going to the divisional round this weekend. That being said, the road to the Superbowl is a tough one and the chances of us not only going to Foxboro and pulling out a win then elsewhere are very slim. I don't think I'm blowing anybody's minds by saying this. That being said, I think that leaves us with three options heading in to the off season, which would you rather see play out and give some insight as to why you feel that way. (To get this team to the point of going deep in to the post season, in particular). 1.) We are a few pieces away, get a quarterback in FA and get a lot of solid talent through the draft to fill our glaring holes (DT, DE/LB, WR, OT) 2.) Blow our draft pick load in the draft and get one of the top 3 quarterbacks and try to build around him in FA 3.) Tyrod got us to the playoffs, keep going with him and build talent and a better defense around him through the draft. I honestly think the 1 or 3 is our best option. We can get to the postseason with Tyrod, clearly, and he only started 14 games. I would rather have a QB that could get our offense in to the top 20, then we would have a mediocre offense and a top 10 defense (I think we are around #9 right now?). Get our defense top 5 through the draft. Lorax and KW might be on the way out due to age, so that makes DE/LB / DT a bigger need.
  14. Probably the same thing Kyle Orton did when Marrone was coach. If had had a half-competent quarterback, we would be 9-7 / 10-6 at the end of the season, probably be in the playoffs. Right now I think we finish 7-9 or 8-8. So, on average, 1.5 more wins. I still think we get blown out by the Saints. We would have at least been competitive against the Chargers. Probably still split with the Jets.
  15. I know we are a ways away from the draft, but what do you think you've seen so far this season that constitutes being addressed early and often in the offseason? (Be it through the draft or through FA). Coming in to this season, I thought CB/S were going to be a huge hole. Now I think we just need some depth players we could probably find later in the draft. My top needs going in to the off-season if the season ended today would be: Defensive line (DE/DT BPA) WR OT (RT / G, again, BPA) LB
  16. I don't love Eli, but you're comparing a QB that has won two Super Bowls with Tyrod Taylor. The one stat worth looking at, Eli Manning has came back in the 4th quarter 17.0% of the times he has tried. Tyrod Taylor has came back I thought I read a state somewhere where Tyrod was like 1-15 when traiing by 4 or more points in the 4th quarter (6%). That is absolutely abysmal. Basically, if we're losing in the fourth quarter, we're going to lose the game with Tyrod. How about this: if we're losing in the fourth quarter with 3 minutes to go, down by 4+, put in Peterman. Can we at least agree on that? It's at least a guaranteed loss with Taylor in. With Petermen, if he wins 20% (3x more than Taylor) of those games, the Bills go to the playoffs because our defense will keep us in each and every game.
  17. Looking ahead of our schedule after the bye looks like this: Buccaneers (very winnable at home) Raiders Jets Saints Chargers Chiefs (end of November) It's not until this game before we start playing in December that I think we 'should' lose. Especially playing at Arrowhead. The Raiders on October 29th, there's a 50/50 chance we are playing the EJ Manuel-led Raiders. Carr's back injury could be anywhere from 2-6 weeks, and if he tries to come back early, he still might not be himself. We might rather play a Carr with an injured back than a healthy EJ Manuel. Could we be 8-2 or 9-1 going in to December? I'm wondering if the Pats D will be better by the time we play them. I wish we played them at the beginning of the season rather than at the end. Let me know your thoughts or if I am totally off-base. We are going in to undoubtedly the weakest part of our schedule after the bye. Especially given Oakland's current situation.
  18. Pretty spot on. Only two corrections I would make is 1.) I don't think Preston would sit behind Humber. Although I'm sure we'll be in nickel on 2nd and 3rd downs so Seymour will probably be on the field more often than either of them. and 2.) The QB depth chart is probably going to be different on whom you ask. I don't think Yates will make the cut. I'm also not sure if CJ will make the cut, especially second string. He was brought in by the prior administration and not too sure he fits the mold of Dennison's offense (not that TT does either). Hopefully they tailor it to better fit TT. Videos I've seen though, I would say Peterman is almost more mobile than CJ. thoughts?
  19. I would have taken Reuben Foster at 10. I would have died if we got him plus an extra first and a 3rd. You select athletes in the first, not really needs. I don't particularly like it.
  20. Taylor keeps us competitive. if we go 9-7, 10-6 next season, get to wild card or just miss wild card, we are competitive for top end-free agents to come here as the one last "hurrah" to get us over the hump. Hopefully one of the two QBs we drafted will be ready to take the reins by that time.
  21. Why is Pittsburgh making Chris Hogan look like Julio Jones?
  22. I think simply saying, "the players like him" is a bit misleading. I don't think any player is going to badmouth a coach they currently play for or has a potential at becoming their head coach. Take Rex Ryan as an example. When he was our coach, every player said, "We're all in", and, "I think we can win with him". Now that he's gone, you hear a lot of, "The system was too difficult", and, "We need a coach that demands discipline." In other words, I don't think any of us know whether or not the players actually like Anthony Lynn until he's gone and then are asked. I'm not saying he should or should not be our coach, I would just like more objective evidence than, "the players like him" or, "he is respected". Of course he is. He is the current head coach.
