  1. This just in: Patriots sign 10 year vetran RB Willis McGahee.... to make room, they realease recently signed jack-of-all trades, master of none- Tim Tebow! Unless the most recent injuries have really taken their toll, Willis will find work somewhere quickly. The Pats were trying to horn in on Bradshaw, before the Colts signed him...Willis is a tough guy, somebody wants him.
  2. Unashamed and unabashed "Mary Tyler Moore Show" fanatic here...very sad indeed. Love both of these women.
  3. True...people have always been asses...but now they seem empowered by the notion that they can now be seen. This idiot is not only displaying wretched behavior, she seems to have no concept or has not even entertained the idea that nobody in the restaurant, or in the world Facebook (her account had to be closed) would be on her side in this argument. After all, she didn't get a receipt... her particularly nasty mouth, and offensive slurs toward the girl she had the issue with the night before pretty much tell anyone all they need to know. She claims she has given this particular Dunkin' Donuts location "100's" of kudos and good reviews on-line...but not getting a receipt, apparently was enough to nullify all of those hundreds of positive experiences. I can already envision a tearful video of apology.
  4. I love the line "I'm from Indiana, this kind of stuff doesn't happen there"... the poor brat has been victimized!
  5. What a horrible person... video cameras and social media are turing people into complete pieces of ****.
  6. Thanks! It was driving me crazy...I knew that guy from somewhere...Little Carmine! Yeah, that is funny...I think Don is in near complete "I really do not give a **** mode, whatever you say" and Ted is reading it as some sort of power play...he is reading more into Don's actions than is really there. Don is just getting by on reputation at this point
  7. Shame...Vontae Leach is about to be released by Balitimore..... All said, I thought that T Jax re-signing, especially when he re- signed, was one of the odder off-season moves this off-season...not so much from the Bills POV, but from his. I think somebody will sign him...he may not be great shakes, but a guy who has been a starter for 25+ games is hard to come by.
  8. Would you rather have a cold, or the flu?
  9. Yeah... that shot of Sally on the other side of the door as he gives her his pathetic excuse was really powerful. That moment a kid realizes their parent is not who they thought they were.
  10. Wow...Don broke his daughters' heart...he is on a roll... great episode last night. Of course Don isn't helping Sylvias kid (Mitchell?) dodge the draft becuase he empathizes with him, or even cares about him...he is doing it just to get back into Sylvia's realm..very interesting psychological stuff going on here. And, I guess we know a little more about Bob Benson now? Latest theory out there seems to be that Megan is already dead...ala the "Sixth Sense"....just silly stuff. I am wondering if Weiner and company love jerking people around so much with this stuff. Apparently (though I can't say I really remember most of the examples the guy gives) there have been numerous scenes this season where Don appears oblivious to Megans' prescence...like physically oblivious. Might be an interesting theory, but I don't buy it for a second...it wouldn't explain all the scenes of Megan at work...Megan being hit on by the bosses wife....
  11. As I said, I have been collecting for pretty much my whole life. A good frined of mine, here in Austin, used to run a card shop. For about 6 or 7 years, maybe one or two evenings a week, I used to go there to help him out, collating cards, hanging out, drinking beers, watching ball games... he wold just pay me in cards... I met a lot of other serious collectors...it just sort of snow balled from there...now I have people who I mostly trade with...we don't worry so much about value, as much as getting what we want...a guy in Seatlle sends me all his Bills stuff, I send him all my Seahawks stuff..also similar situations with a Ravens fan and a Redskins fan. If I go to a weekend card show, I am always on the lookout for Bills stuff, but I will also snag good value Ravens and Redskins stuff to send my trade partners...it is amazing, after years of this, how much stuff, some of it really nice, that you can accumulate. And, of course, with an eye toward selling some of this stuff at some point, I will pick up, what I cosider, good values of other teams, for possible future trades or sales. It is kind of fun...

  14. So funny...just saw a version of this story about 20 minutes ago, thoght of linking it with the title..."Poojer would"
  15. Yeah, I think its' rediculous too...but trying to be respectful of everyone...no matter how rediculous they are! Honestly, though I never seek out spoilers, I have been exposed to many of them over the years...if the work is good, it doesn't ruin it for me...there has to be a reason people can watch the same thing over and over and get more out of it with each viewing. I don't do it with everything, but I typically watch Mad Men twice each week.. on Sunday night, and then again, whenever I can fit it in during the week, before the next one airs. I always notice something I didn't notice on the first viewing..sometimes knowing what is going to happen can actually appreciate the craft more.
  16. No, I am not saying that at all. Race is obviously an issue, because Brown always makes sure that it is. What I dislike about Brown, at the core, is he has railed against our racist soeciety, but rarely fails to co-opt racism to take the spotlight off of his own failings as a man. He has made them part of issues where they don't belong. He has been playing the "race card" long after the game was over. Believe me, I am not discounting the things that Brown went through as a black athlete, and I respect the various stances he took over the years to make his points. And, as rudimentary as the argument might be, there were plenty of black athletes who faced worse circumstances than Jim Brown, during the same era who never had these issues. One of my personal heroes is Bill Russell. He had the same moral rage that Jim Brown had, but managed to keep his hands to himself. If you can't form an opinion of a person from his actions, how can you at all?
  17. Actually, went to see Paul McCartney a few weeks ago. I was amazed at how well he has aged. Sure, a few wrinkles, but the guy looks to be in great physical shape...
  18. I think the more we talk about this, the less I understand what you mean about "understanding". Many of the issues that people have with Jim Brown have nothing to do with the color of his skin, but the content of his character.
  19. That's the good thing about being fugly, like me... you never look any worse!
  20. Excellent point! I made a post earlier, then thought better of it, wondering how the hell "I Love Lucy" was the #12 best written show in television history? Really? I admit, I always hated that show, but I acknowledge that Lucy was a pioneer in many ways, and as it turns out, so was the head writer for the show...one of the very first females to hold such a big title in tv history. I can understand that it might be funny to many, but the writing, in my eyes is pretty formulaic..it almost defines that term. I can see it being somebodys' favorite show of all time, because it made them laugh their ass off...but the if writers are juding the shows on their writing merits, it seems like a bit of a dis-service to all tv writers. I can like a show ("Dexter" comes to mind) even if it is poorly written...but I can recognize the difference. Hey Chandler...do you watch "The Newsroom" on HBO, Sorkins' newest show? I think it is awful, but I have never seen the "West Wing". One of those shows I consider plunging in to...but then the "The Newsroom" was so disappointing, I hesitiate. How do they compare?
  21. Agreed..I used to hate him...he was just too loud...I am not into loud! But, for about 4 or 5 months, our local sports talk radio affiialte carried his morning radio show...and I saw (or heard) what you see...a really bright guy, who doesn't seem to take a stance, just for arguments sake, and who belives what he is saying. He is the anti-Colin Cowherd/Skip Bayless...guys who just talk for the sake of talking... I am also an NBA fan (also not very popular here), so maybe I appreciate him a little more. He is probably one of the only current ESPN talking heads that I like. And yes, it was me who made the VY comparisons, which is why I posted the Stephen A clip...it kind of goes with what I was saying. VY was able to put together a winning record as a starter in Tennessee, using his athletic ability alone. He never refined his QB skills...if the had, he wouldn't be looking for a job today. Maybe I am being too optimistic, but with what I have seen (admitedly, mostly high-lights), EJ looks to have similar athletic skills...but, by all accounts is smart, and coachable. I don't mind going with Kolb for a few games if that is what the coaches feel is best...but I also don't mind the option of putting the kid out there, let him get the mistakes out of his system, make som big plays along the way, and make Buffalo Bills football fun to watch again. If all the hype about this kid is true, that he is charismatic, a true leader...lets' get the EJ Manuel era started....
  22. I realize most dislike Stephen A Smith, but give this a listen...talking about EJ Manuel. I realize Smith kind of shoots his argument in the foot, when he mistakenly ID's Ryan Fitzpatrick as Manuel's competition for the Bills starting job... but I think he does a good job of explaining why EJ Manuel has a very good chance of being the opening day starter... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXvPABbR5nw
  23. Fug the kids...they don't know how to rock any more!
