  1. John Hiatt...nice! On a bit of a Stones kick, so indulge me: "Never kept a dollar past sunset, always burned a hole in my pants..." (Happy) "Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste..." (Sympathy for the Devil) "I'm a flea-bit peanut monkey, and all my friends are junkies..." (Monkey Man)
  2. Been saying all along, rumors of EJ Manuel's suckiness have been vastly overstated...
  3. Was watching Jim speaking at the Ralph Wilson memorial event from Friday and was thinking he looked and sounded lot stronger than he did even at the HOfF ceremony just a month ago....damn!
  4. As others have said, a good story, maybe only loosely based in fact. But that worked for Shawshank Redemption! If if really was an "FU" to the other NFL owners, the pending vote on a Pegula ownership might not be as certain as it feels right now...rememebef, 24 other owners have to be on board with this... I feel indebted to Mr Wilson for facilitating the Bills long tenure in Buffalo, but I have little doubt that his desire to keep the Bills where he built them did not include doing anything detrimental to the league that he helped build.
  5. I think the NFL is getting its' "come-upance"...these are very different times than the ones that the NFL built its' empire on. The game will always be great, Americans will always love it, but the league, and the way it conducts/had conducted business is getting a lot of negative light shined on it.
  6. Was just talking to somebody yesterday that was wondering if Pegula would have OJ Simpsons' name removed from the Bills Wall of Fame. Given the climate right now, and the new owners proclivity for honoring past players (at least with the Sabres) like nobody else, it seems like the Pegulas' will have an uncomfortable situation to deal with at some point. Interesting that Eastbrook braught it up too...
  7. EJ never hangs his head...to the ire of so many of the haters on this board. He is always cool and calm. One of my favorite NFL Films clips from last season, from the Panthers game (EJ's game winning td pass to Stevie in the waining moments), Marrone is on the sideline, looking like he needs a botte of Malox...he keeps saying to EJ, "okay, just stay calm, you can do this, just like we practiced it" or something to that effect. EJ just kind of smiles, and turns to Marrone and says "don't worry about me, I am calm...i got it". For all his accuracy woes, I think he has a lot to work with.
  8. I understand what you are saying, and I agree. However, Goodell buckled to public sentiment on this issue last week (as he should have), and this will only amp that up again. The players union will give him a hard time, but I think he will have to re-visit the situation. There is nothing in the "new" video that anyone with a brain in their head should be surprised by. However, if you haven't noticed, the NFL has been extremely reactive to bad PR over the last two years or so...trying to make up for lost time I guess.
  9. Pete Metzelaars wasn't too shabby... but I get what you are saying. There was a time, pre-Gronk, where having a pass catching tight-end was a luxury that most teams didn't have, and didn't spend a whole lot of capital trying to obtain...it was just kind of a "bonus" if you stumbled across that guy. In that era, Chandler would have been considered a very good tight-end/offensive weapon...but when you guys like Graham, Gronk, and you see the rediculous game that Julius Thomas had last night, it makes him look sub-par. I think he is alright....
  10. I get what Glazer is saying, but his "logic" is non-senscial here.
  11. Jeremy Maclin against Jax, or Ryan Matthews vs Arizona on Monday night...which would be your flex?
  12. Alas, a negative Buffalo story that is actually great news! Now just stay away!
  13. Don't play Welker!
  14. Agree with Hazed and Amused... I like Benjamin a lot, just not completely sure of that offense...
  15. Oh, you can tell, huh?
  16. In Austin...hate the Cowboys, completely apathetic toward the Texans...
  17. Seems like TBD is on off-season mode. If my depths of despair over the Bills was that great, I would likely just stop watching the NFL altogether..none of this Colin Cowherd, jumping from team to team for me...that is soft.
  18. I think Goodwin is better reciever (ie: pass catcher) than Graham, but Goodwin, I think, is going to be one of those guys who is perpetually injured...
  19. I have been listening to Clayton for years giving interviews like this one, to local sports talk radio shows. For the record,he pretty much blows smoke up the collective asses of the market he is broadcasting. He always spins positive on the Bills on GR...but he will paint a different picture on national shows. Don't hate the guy at all, but take his football opinions with a huge grain of salt.
  20. I do not say this as a judgement of his coaching skills (I am still very much in the undecided crowd on that), but I think his PC's are pretty brutal. He is only a shade more interesting than Dick Jauron. There was a time when I would listen to every PC given by a Bills coach, QB, and most others... but I actually liked listening to Chan Gailey.
  21. Seems like years since I have been B word-slappd by AD... happy birtday you old curmudgeon.
  22. I think stories of Manuels suckiness have been completely overblown the last two weeks... and I will take it a step further, despite the awful first half for the offense agaisnt the Bucs, I liked a lot of what EJ did. I think he is making progress. True, it isn't as fast, perhaps, as some would like...but he is making good decisions.
