[closed]Another Bills QB bites the dust
Buftex replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Been doing that for about a year now... -
Obviously, I would not make the trade that is being proposed...as a McCoy owner though, he has not been having a very good season thus far...certainly not #1 pick in the draft (where I got him) quality... Hate to say it, but of the four guys involved in this proposal, Spiler and Watkins are the weak links. Essentially they are wanting you to trade Brown for McCoy.

Why I think Marrone should be fired...
Buftex replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Benching does not necessarily equal "bailing". C Biscuit97, I am have behind EJ all the way, but I still think this is actually a very wise move on Marrones' part. I know it has been referred to elsewhere, but the "body language" of the the skill players on that offense last Sunday was screaming frustration, with the QB. Sure, it is Marrone's job to develop the QB (or to make sure it is being done), but he also has responsibility to the other guys on that roster, and not to be too corny, but to Bills fans, to not write off a season, 4 games in, because one guy is seemingly holding them back. I also don't buy into the whole narritive, as the national media seems to be writing it, that the Bills are necessarily "writing off" EJ Manuel. They have a tough match-up next week against the Lions, and EJ did nothing the last two weeks to suggest that he would be able to play well, with the kind of pass rush that the Lions bring. Who knows if Orton will fare much better? But they have to try something... -
I think I heard over the weekend, a team that has lost a game in the "London series" has never made the playoffs. If so,
-
I have been noticing these "body-language" issues with Woods since the pre-season. I think if anyone on this team explodes, it is going to be Woods. Wonder if that is part of the (perceived) tension that Woods and Marrone have had since this summer.

Who is the 2nd best Quarterback in the AFC-East ?
Buftex replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I pick Geno, but I think his ceiling is a little higher than you suggest. I know the guy makes some mistakes, but he looks awfully good at times too...like almost elite QB good. I, obviously, haven't seen him play as much as I have EJ...only about 8 games or so. He (Geno) makes some awful decisions, but he also makes some great throws....the other night against the Bears, I was really impressed with him, minus the two pics of course. He has a great arm, and is pretty accurate, from what I have seen. He is also decisive, and doesn't seem to "play scared", He has some kinks to work out, to be sure, but I think he is the kind of guy who will get better with more experience. I have also been impressed with his ability to throw on the run, and keep his eyes downfield. FireChan has been all over EJ since the beginning...I dont' think he will concede anything! -
If you are at all a music fan, you gotta see the "American Music" episode. Even if you could care less about the Sugarhill Gang and rap, that piece is so well done... I know what you mean about not being drawn in. I saw about 3 of them, on my own over the last year, at like 2 in morning. I found it mildly amusing, but sometimes I don't trust myself. I couldn't decide if this was just awful, or brilliant. Watch it with a couple of other people in the room, and you will all be busting a gut... Agreed. Key & Peele is pretty funny too...

So, I guess that means that they did listen to the transcript, and did complain to ESPN! The NFL is on a roll!

All the sites agree with you on Martin...except Rotoworld, the one I find most useful. Gonna have to sleep on this one another night or two... I have had D'Angelo Williams a time or two over the years. He is capable of a 2 or 3 very productive games per year...I kind of feel, given the health of the other running backs on the Panthers, this could be one of those games...

"Second verse, same as the first... I am Hen-a-ry the VIII I am, Hen-a-ry the VIII I am, Iam ...she wouldn't have a Willie or a Sam I'm her eighh old man, I Hen-a-ry, Hen-a-ry the eighth I am"

Check this out Jim... Masseria and Rothstein were my two favorites on the show as well...gonna see little, if anything from either the rest of the way.
-
I don't mind Glennon as a talent, but it seems like the Bucs are hell-bent on being a running team.
-
Yeah, killed me to have to draft Martin...only thing saving my bacon right now is that I have a good set of receivers, and most all of them are producing every week. My running backs have been duds. I picked McCoy with the first pick of the draft...all the guides had either him, Charles or Peterson as the hands-down #1 guy in the draft....glad I picked McCoy..but he isn't lighting it up either...but at least he is playing!

Bills' All Time Best Offensive Play Caller
Buftex replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm gonna say Jim Kelly, or Ray Prochaska. Prochaska was the OC under Chuck Knox. We all know about "Ground Chuck", but I think people remember those offenses as being far more one dimensional and limited than they really were. In 1980 and 1981, when Joe Cribbs was added to the offense, they had a potent combo of run and pass, and used Cribbs as a receiver out of the backfield, before that became a big part of the "norm" for NFL offenses. Those were really fun teams to watch, in a different era of football. As for Jim Kelly, I think everybody knows, he called his own plays...sure, he may have relied on his own arm a few too many times, but what to expect when a guy with a healthy ego is calling his own plays? We want a guy who wants to be "the guy"...and Kelly certainly was. btw- my dad, whose birthday would be tomorrow if he was still around, played some college sports with Ted Marchiabroda...got to meet him a few times...hell of a nice guy. -
I had seen a few episodes of this show, here and there, but recently have become hooked..it is hilarious. This may not be the funniest clip, but I laughed my ass off...this one is called "Al Capone was a Syphilitic Moron". The youtube clips are only portions of each story..but you get the picture. Just curious if anyone else enjoys this show...I haven't found anyone who has even heard of it...yet! The premise of the show, they get a comedian very drunk, and have them tell a historical story in their own words...with their own voice, as actors (some very well known people show up) act out their version of history. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzzYJ1aDjhM

Yeah...I guess the Lions are not the ideal matchup, but I still like him more than your other choices. If I had to go with anyone else, it would probably be Fitz...you never know with him... he has some decent targets (Hopkins has been good for a TD every week)....I just think the Bills D-line could get a lot of pressure on him. I am not as down on EJ as some (I say "as down"), but even at his best, he isn't much of a FF producer.
-
I think I would stick with Geno...much is being made about how bad he was last week...but in my league, even with the two pics, he still scored about 20 or 21 fantasy points. Take away the two awful int's, and I was actually pretty impressed with him. The pics might have lost the game for the Jets (fine with me), but they only cost 4 pts in FF terms. Kid has a great arm....

So, because of bye weeks and injuries, I am very thin at running back this week...hell, even if everyone was available, I have some isssues at the positon. Mine is a PPR league. My question to you TBD experts, which running back to start at the RB#2 spot: RB#1: LeSean McCoy Who at #2? Doug Martin (TB) @Pittsburgh OR D'Angelo Williams (CAR) @Baltimore Both Martin and Williams are coming off injuries and haven't played since week 1. All of the commercial FF sites are ranking Martin as a better start than Willams...but I am not completely sold. Because of other injuries at the position, it appears that Williams will be the primary runner for the Panthers (Stewart and Tolbert both out), and he is a pretty decent receiver out of the backfield as well. I could see him finishing with 40 yards rushing, and 3 receptions for 27 yards and a TD. That would be 15 pts in my league. With Martin, he would likely be the featured runner, but not necessarily. I think the Bucs want to be a running team, but even when all healthy, none of their backs have really stood out as being much better than the other...it almost seems like Martin is either going to have a huge day, or do nothing at all most weeks. What you think?
-
You know...Eli looked like he got a little mojo back last week...and he was able to hook up with Cruz. I don't have a ton of faith in the Redskins injury depleted secondary either...but I did give that some thought. I was fortunate (I hope) to get the Chargers defense.
-
He had his best game as a Bill in the second Jets game last year, and had a very, very good game a few weeks later against the Jags.

bands that you recently discovered and are in to

Those Darlins are my newest "favorite band" in a while...they get better and better with each album...this track kills me..kind of a slow burner with a nice build up... -
The "experts" take - Bills at Texans
Buftex replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me, more than Foster, JJ Watt and the Texans D-line (or the Bills O-line if you will) are the key as to whether the Bills win or not. I think the defense has looked pretty stout against the run. I think roster for roster though, the Bills are the more talented team. More depth. But do they have more depth and talent where they need it most? -

Week 4: Texans' Game Preparation
Buftex replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kinda got the vibe from Moorman's "farewell to Buffalo" letter, that he was leaning towards retirement. Can't remember exactly how he worded it, but it made me think that he realized he wasn't the player he used to be.
