  1. Up until the middle of last yr, I, too, had DTV w/ Sunday Ticket & I agree w/ you that it is/was great. Unfortunately and somewhat ironically, upon buying a new TV, since DTV offers such poor High Def programming (& required purchasing a $500 rcvr at the time), I was forced to cancel my svc.
  2. Thanks for the legwork Vinny. I sent a polite email to Mr Becker.
  3. I'd say about 1/2 the time or so. I'd guess their preference of late would be Pats, Bills then Jets. Of course when the Giants host an AFC team, that preempts everything.
  4. I checked I think yesterday & according to FoxSports, they're showing Titans-Boys here.
  5. I think our problems on short yardage are more to do w/ the Oline than the back. Granted, my observations primarily on Bills games so they might not truly be indicative but how many times are our backs confronted w/ penetration behind the LOS compared to how often against us in short ydage, a back isn't touch until beyond the LOS. This could be attributable to our backs being slow getting to the LOS, but I doubt it. Our problem is that our line isn't that good. Look at recent QB sneaks. Losman has to struggle to get one foot, Pennington makes almost into our 2ndary standing up. IIRC, Brady had a couple good sneaks, too.
  6. In retrospect, we should've had two returners back on punts. I'm sure the wind made it VERY tricky to field the ball, but that problem was compounded cuz it appeared that Parrish was the only one back there & Graham was kicking away from him. When you've gotta run 20 or so yards b4 being 'near' where it's gonna come down, it makes fielding punts that much more difficult. I'll give credit to the Jets' punter, but I think our inability to field those punts cost us perhaps an avg of 10 yds /punt. It might not have made much of a difference, but I just wanted to point it out.
  7. I think Willis's problem WRT pass blcoking is that he tries to kill the guy. I recall from a couple of yrs ago, he would often crush oncoming rushers, especially if they were already engaged. We're witnessing the same thing this year (I don't recall him having much opportunity to pass block last yr). He's gotta learn when it's time to just suck it up & take another hit rather than try to deliver one. Let the rusher come to him.
  8. One thing you guys are either forgetting or aren't aware of about punting in these conditions - Not only does the wind effect the ball in the air during the punt, it also makes it more difficult on the drop, consequently you're gonna be far less accurate pinning them inside the 10 when punting from the 35. WRT the fake, it's quite possible that the wind impacted the shovel pass, too. Good call IMO. W/ the swirling wind, even w/ it basically at your back, a 53 yder is a low %age kick; as per above, you can't expect much of a positive play by punting. Had the pass been better, it looks like it would've been a good play.
  9. The INT looked dumb cuz likely the ball ended up about 20 yds shorter than he wanted. If he's able to adequately throw the ball so that Evans is roughly in stride, it wouldn't look like such a bad pass. Also, I haven't watched the tape yet, but is it possible his throwing motion was impeded? The only throw I recall going 'in the dirt' was toward the end of the game when it was raining heavily & quite windy. Not too concerned about that either. Those short out patterns on 4th down however were Holcombesque.
  10. That he got fined, doesn't surprise me (I don't think it's the refs have issue fines); that he actually got penalized on the play, does. Seriously, I didn't see the play in question, so I can't make a judgment on it. However, if you go along w/ conspiracy or at least acknowledge that the Patsies rcv 'favoritism' by the officials, the fact that he got fined I think is irrelevent.
  11. Actually, if Kimmel is like most talk shows, it's possible he didn't. I know that Leno, Fergy & Letterman are recorded in the afternoon & appear to not be filmed continuously. (i.e. They don't make the audience sit there ideally to wait for a 5 minute commercial break. Also, it's sometimes apparent that there has been editing.) As such, it is quite possible that he was oblivious to the time left. Personally, I assume that he was aware & in on it. As for the redness & bulging veins, venomously scream ant someone/something for a few minutes & I think you can turn yourself red.
  12. Obscure (IMO), but I get it. Personally, I woulda said Louise.
  13. Are they sure he said 'joker' & not 'choker'?
  14. Not according to the Scum Sentennal They gave the edge to the Dullfins. Also, I want to give kudos to Wire for his blocked punt. Count me among those that don't think he's very good, but he made a great play.
  15. Don't throw her out w/ the water. Sorry, someone had to say it.
  16. Chocolate battered Choc chip. If they didn't make me ill, Vanilla Bean (I think it's a local bakery in Albany) makes a sugar cookie w/ about 1/2" of choc frosting on it. I forget the name of them.
  17. It's relatively certain that it is NOT lacquer then, although it could be urethane or just regular enamel. If you opt for using a solvent, I'd suggest trying it in a small, inconspicuous place 1st to assure it won't ruin your paint. Unless you've got a lot of paint, I'd probably opt for a rubbing/buffing compound rather than a solvent. On the plus side, it'll remove some of the oxidation from the paint & improve its overall appearance.
  18. Depends on what sort of paint you have on your car. If you've got a newish car w/ OE urethane paint, it's pretty impervious to solvents so you can use what you want to remove the road paint. If it's an old car &/or has been touched up w/ lacquer, about the only safe method is to try & buff it out w/ buffing/rubbing compound or if necessary you might even have to attack it w/ VERY fine (i.e. 2000-3000 grit) wet sandpaper 1st. What type of car do you drive and has it ever had body work done to it?
  19. That's my sentiment. I would've liked to have seen them retain Baker & Leonhard over Vincent & Wire.
  20. That was over a 12 game season. Extrapolate the #s. I too, was too young to watch him play but based on his production, I'd say he was a man among boys.
  21. We had 4 KO returns and by my estimation, only 1 real opportunity for a punt return. The punt return hit Parrish in the face & we had to scramble to recover. We had 1 good KO ret & on a 2nd, some guy blew up Shelton & was able to get to McGee. From the tv shot, it looks as if had Shelton been able to block that guy, McGee had open field to the right. How far he would've gotten, we'll never know. So if not for those 2 screw ups, we may very well have had very good overall results.
  22. WRT Stamer on ST, IMO he WOULD classify as great or at least near great. (I'm not so high on Haggan). Much like Pike excelled on ST, he was sledom in the spotlight like Tasker. Same situation w/ Stamer & Aiken. I think you'll find that Stamer has consistently been one of our leading tacklers on ST. If he doesn't make that tackle, someone else has to further up the field.
  23. Unless he's so cocky & arrogant that he refers to himself using the imperial 'we'.
  24. You forgot to take into consideration that in Foxborro, the endzone extends all the way out to the 1 yd line for the Pats. (They also only have to get only "over 9 yards" for a 1st down.) "Just give it to 'em"
  25. Why not? They're probably too dumb to be offended. Sorry. Some people have facetiously blamed MM for WM's inability to count downs. Bear in mind that last year he was seldom in on 3rd downs, so he only has recent practice of counting to 2. Counting to 4 is covered freshman yr at "The U", so he was undoubtedly rusty.
