  1. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, players wages during training camp is pretty low, last I saw, something like $500/week stipend. (Someone more diligent than me can check out the CBA to see how much it is now.) They only make the coin IF they make the roster and get a game check (which would amount to like $15k or more for that week)
  2. He probably was assigned to punt in the 1st half w/ Fitzpatrick doing it in the 2nd. IIRC, we didn't punt in the 1st half. As others have said, he was holding.
  3. Through the yrs, quite a few diff guys. Dennis Shaw, Gary Marangi, David Humm, Joe Dufek come immediately to mind.
  4. Actually, when they usurp it on your Income Tax (F%$#@@ them for that the 1st time they did it as AFAIK, it wasn't widely disclosed b4hand) you have the option of paying a prescribed amount based on your income, which could be SUBSTANTIALLY less than what you were to actually owe if they collected it based on actual sales prices. So, for low income individuals &/or people who make large internet/catalog purchases, it is good news.
  5. It would behoove Crayonz to figure it out.
  6. Last Mango in Paris - Jimmy Buffett I went down to Captain Tony's to get out of the heat When I heard a voice call out to me, 'Son, come have a seat' I had to search my memory as I looked into those eyes Our lives change like the weather but a legend never dies He said, 'I ate the last mango in Paris Took the last plane out of Saigon Took the first fast boat to China And Jimmy, there's still so much to be done' I had a third world girl in Buzios With a pistol on each hand She always kept me covered As we moved from land to land I had a damn good run on wall street With my high fashion model wife Til I woke up dry beneath the African sky Just me and my Swiss Army knife I ate the last mango in Paris Took the last plane out of Saigon Took the first fast boat to China And Jimmy there's still so much to be done We shot the breeze for hours As the sun fell from the skies And like the sun he disappeared before my very eyes It was somewhere past dark-thirty When I went back to the head I read upon the dingy wall The words the old man said He said, 'I ate the last mango in Paris Took the last plane out of Saigon Took the first fast boat to China And Jimmy, there's still so much to be done' I ate the last mango in Paris Took the last plane out of Saigon Took the first fast boat to China And Jimmy there's still so much to be done
  7. It didn't need much body work as I had painted it in lacquer about 13 yrs ago & I don't drive it much & it's always garaged. Disassemble and sand it down to bare metal. Each panel got primed & sanded about 3 times in order to get it perfectly smooth. (Most places will skim coat it w/ filler instead, which is quicker but results in thicker material & less sharp lines.) Paint. Color sand (by hand) and buff. Then reassemble. I'll add if you've ever seen 40 yr old bare steel based sheet metal, it's anything but straight & smooth. Time adds up.
  8. Likely a lot more than you think & more than it'll be worth. I just did a "restoration" paint job on my '68 Charger & it took me over 300 hrs. Granted, I'm slower than a pro, but I'm sure it would've taken them over 200. At $60 or whatever per hr plus a couple thousand for material, you're talking over $10k for the paint job alone. Roughly speaking, depending on the condition of the car, it's type & how pristine/exact you want the results, you're talking 1000-3000 hrs labor for a complete restoration. Not familiar w/ Caddy's, but most GM products of that era are pretty easy & cheap (relatively speaking) to get parts for. Still, you could probably find your way to spend maybe $20k on parts. Again, roughly speaking, if you're thinking of restoring a "regular" car, the parts will cost roughly what the car will be worth when done; if you have to pay someone for the labor, it's a losing proposition. On the plus side, consider it a volatile investment. If you hold onto it long enough, it may end up making you money. In the time being, you get to enjoy it (& it's 8 mpg fuel economy ).
  9. As people have mentioned above, you can "manually" open a link in a new tab, so although I voted for "new window" (which I assume based browser settings could/would be a new "tab"), that's NBD. The time stamps are nice reference so I don't have to readdress the issue of whether or not I want to read various articles. And as always, thanks for your efforts SDS.
  10. Best shirt I ever had, I only had for 1 day & I don't know if I even wore it. Buffalo Bills XXV Superbowl Champs! Outside, after the game (we lost BTW ) a vendor was selling Giants Ts for $20, Bills for $10. I got one figuring it would be a great souvenir. That night, the hotel room was really bright, so I used it to cover my eyes. It was white as were the sheets. When we packed to leave I obviously missed it. Called the hotel when I got home, but no one turned it in.
  11. I'm VERY much looking fwd to this! I'm hooked on Diablo II (offline). This has apparently been in the works for a LONG time, but went through a few reorganizations. (I had read about these rumors on a Diablo reference site I use.)
  12. 3 different scenarios. Butler was a minimum wage young player who proved his worth as a starter & had his pay aligned as such, much like Peters' situation a few yrs ago. Peters already had his original cnt renegotiated; his situation (like other premiere players) is that the mkt price keeps going up each yr. Evans was a 1st round draft choice (& had a cnt to match) w/ that original cnt set to expire & when/if it does, he will be paid on an elite level.
  13. It wasn't "needed", it was just something they do for "fun".
  14. Actually, Chris Brown's native language is Cantonese, so he has trouble pronouncing his Vs. j.k.
  15. Since you haven't had any responses yet, I'll provide something similar that happened to me about 10 yrs ago. 1st, IANAIA (I am not an insurance agent). I was driving & got hit on the top of the hood w/ a (apparently quite large) rock that left a very bad dent/mark. (Even called the police to see if there was any rpts of kids throwing rocks as I couldn't figure where it came from). It was a new (leased) car & I had the same concern as you. Insurance agent (State Farm) said it wouldn't raise my rates (covered under comp, which IIRC, meant I paid nothing) but seemed to imply that were I to have another claim that it would make it more likely that my rates would go up. But since it's an older car, if you don't think it's even worth your $500 deductible to repair, why bother unless you're intending to sell the car soon?
  16. Or unless there's sharks around. Then, he's just "chum".
  17. Going into the '90 season (the yr of "wide right"), he had made 95 of 126 kicks (75.4%). Up to the same point, Gary Anderson had made 186 of 242 (76.9%). I don't have the time to accumulate career rcds for kickers up to 1990, nor have any inclination to search to see if someone has that info, but I contend that 75% WAS a very good %age for that time. (Much like 60% was prior to maybe 1975 or that today, if you make less than 80%, your job is in jeopardy.)
  18. ??? Dude. For most of his career (once he qualified), he was among the top 3 most accurate kickers in history. (3 kickers, I think him, Anderson & Anderssen would swap positions every time one of them missed a kick). He did not have a strong leg, but I'd rather have an automatic 3 inside the 40 than the ability to kick it long but not be able to rely on it going in. For the era that he played in (kicking has evolved/improved vastly over time), he was a great kicker.
  19. I assume you've stayed about the same weight. Congrats. Roughly speaking, for an avg jumper, every 10% change in your mass equates to a 3" difference in your vertical. I started playing vball when I was around 30 yrs old & I don't think it's improved my jump (except if I didn't play, I'd probably weigh 300 lbs) and it is substantially less than when I was in HS (due to me being ~60 lbs heavier). Then again, if I didn't play vball, why would I need to jump?
  20. A couple of questions for my own curiosity, please. How tall is he (& how does that compare to the Middle Hitters)? You say his vertical is "off the charts". Can you estimate what it is. Thanks.
  21. Some of the better dog foods have it in them. (IIRC, Eagle Pack Natural has just Chondriton in it). That was one of the criteria I used when selecting a dog food for my dog (pictured to the left there; a Great Dane). FWIW, I take it myself during indoor volleyball season (Sep-May) & am convinced it helps me wrt knee pain.
  22. They usurp Sales Tax when you file your Income Tax Return anyway.
  23. At least w/ push mowers, there are recommended acceptable slopes; I assume riding mowers do too. (my 'ditch' area exceeds that of my new mower in places & I'd say it requires that you be especially careful, but it still works - I don't think you can really be "extra careful" on a riding mower except don't turn up the hill) How steep is steep & is it practical to go up & down rather than sideways across the slope? I would imagine a mower w/ a rigid mounted deck could accommodate side slopes much better than a floating deck, but of course they will yield a far inferior cut over uneven ground.
  24. Probably 1 on opening day. Maybe none. Hopefully, a couple of others will be "significant" contributors, but they won't start until maybe later in the season, perhaps not at all this yr.
