This could go down as possibly the dumbest transfer decision in history. He has everything to lose by transferring and nothing to gain. Leaving a program with better national exposure, guaranteed 30-40 minutes, knows the system, coaches love him, and I would expect he would have more freedom to play a little on the outside. Gives all that up for a total unknown in Oregon. Oregon too is stacked at the forward position. When they realize he can’t start at the 3 or play major minutes there, he could end up in a major time share at the 4. I feel bad for him. Just totally boneheaded. He should have just gone pro.

Historical Aggressiveness Index of Coaches

Just how I remembered it--seared into my brain. I can't actually believe this video exists on youtube. -
I had the same reaction (maybe because he burned me in fantasy years ago, when he missed so many games with turf toe). But I was looking at his game logs, and he has at least played a lot of games in the last few years (except last year). However, I do feel like even when he has played 16 games, he is hobbled for a lot of them.

I have to think any trade would require him to restructure. I could be wrong, but I believe he is due to make something like $15M in 2021. Also, I would be a little nervous trading anything more than a mid-round pick for an 11th year receiver with a high cap number coming off a season where he missed about 8 games.

it was a clever play call, if you actually have the players to do it. You throw right before the 2-minute warning because the clock will stop anyway. But in that game, Losman was terrible and the line was horrible. You have to know your players. I remember a similar move I think with Jauron against the Broncos. It may have been the game when Elam rushed onto the field as time expired to win. I think we were icing the clock, but then he inexplicably called a deep bomb as a kill shot— which missed terribly, stopped the clock, and allowed the Broncos to get the ball with time and score. you then take these bizarre aggressive play calls, and you pepper in there the numerous times he would punt from the opponent’s 35-yard line or not go for fourth and inches. Jauron was a good coach at coaching up some bad talent into mediocre 7-9 teams. But he didn’t know how to coach to win, or how to take a team to a successful level (except for 1 flukey year in Chicago). -

Jauron was weird. He was actually very aggressive in situations that called for caution, and then ultra cautious in situations that called for aggression. For example, I think this was Jauron, but I remember him rolling out JP Losman late in a game with a lead for a pass before the 2-minute warning against the Jets. The cautious and normal approach was to run and kill the clock. Instead, he was weirdly aggressive, and Losman was strip sacked, jets recovered and scored, and we lost. -
WR/KR Jeff Badet will work out for Bills

Good luck. No one is knocking McKenzie off this team. He is like Rasputin. -
One of my favorite random movies stars Groden. It’s called “Clifford” and stars Martin Short as a 10-year old kid. I don’t know why, but I just find it to be hilarious.

I started trying to walk a little bit more a few years ago. If I went out to lunch at work and had the time, would suggest places that were a mile or so away. Or would park my car a little further from the office to walk an extra mile in. I then started to get more into golf. I tried to walk 9 holes early in the morning before work and maybe once on the weekend. That is great exercise and you can walk usually about 3-4 miles playing 9. With carrying your bag And swinging a bunch, it ends up being a solid 600 calorie burn. I also got into hiking and will hike with the wife or family a fair amount. Working from home during covid, would try to get out to hike 3-5 miles each day if I could. Yet despite of all this, I put on 20 pounds during covid! 😀

not to derail this pizza thread, but last time I was in Rochester was around 2016. I was surprised at how different that whole Penfield Four Corners was. I went down there to try to find my favorite Chinese restaurant, kam wah (now closed)— and there were a bunch of hipster-type restaurants peppered around there.

haha— same. Would ride down to the village with my friends on our bikes or roller blades. Grab an Italian sub there if I had the money. Go scumming in the canal!

This got me thinking back to when I was growing up. I used to love going to Arrivederci’s in Fairport. Got their pizza occasionally, but mostly got their subs— and loved them. Just looked them up, and looks like they closed!!

that’s true. Now I am worried with this early Wade thread, we won’t see our first meaningful Duke thread until around August. -

This is about a month earlier than I would have expected for the first major Christian Wade thread of the season. It usually comes out around late June/early July. -

Getting a new grill— thinking about a Kamado
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in Off the Wall
Thanks for all the advice, everyone! I ended up going with the Kamado Joe Jr. Not a huge cooking surface, but quality, price and portability were really good. And I saw enough videos of people being able to grill and smoke a lot of big meat on that grill to get comfortable with the idea of the smaller grill. I will let you all know how it goes when it gets here! -
Anyone been to a game in New Orleans?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
re the Bike tour, my wife and I did that there, and it was ridiculously dangerous. We were all riding in a long line, weaving in and out following our guard through all sorts of traffic. At least when we were around the French quarter it wasn’t a great experience. Not ideal spot to ride. When we got out to the river and to other neighborhoods, it got a little better. -
Will fans returning affect team play?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i will have to check out this book. not to get political, but I believe in-person sporting events is one of the great unifying things, and without it this past year, it hasn’t helped with all the divisions in society. It’s only at a bills game where you have people from all races, classes, jobs, socio economic classes wearing the same jerseys, sharing the same ups and downs, and high fiving and hugging each other. -
Nice! Thanks for the update. Definitely a cool place; but totally agree with you re being an early bird town.
