  1. So we would take the cap hit for cutting him and then bring him back at a lower salary to take more of a cap hit?
  2. Mack with Vic Fangio.....scary.........
  3. I wonder what other "teams with whom Khalil would sign an extension" are included on the list Mack's agent gave to the Raiders? The only way the Raiders get a premium is after the terms of an extension are worked out with the new team. If that list is pretty narrow and it's basically the Bills as first choice and everyone else down the list...the Raiders and Bills may meet in the middle with a little pot sweetening by Beane. This is the only place where Mack and his agent have leverage. He can, within reason, narrow where he goes. The Bills have some cap room to maneuver. About $11.6 Million in space and they pick up another $3.4 by moving Hughes. An immediate extension is doable and still leave some room for rollover or injury signing. I would do 2019 - 1; 2020-1, Hughes For Mack; Raiders 2019-2 and in an ideal world Raiders 2020-3 or 4 In Mack, we are talking about a durable difference maker who can disrupt an offensive game plan. You are adding Mack to some really, really good pieces the Bills already have and the Bills key D pieces are locked up for a while (Other than Kyle who is year to year anyway). Immediately, Mack helps cover up the weakness at right corner and SLB with an appreciably better pass rush. He allows the corners to play more in the face like McD wants. No one would have batted an eye if we would have given up both first rounders this year for a potential franchise QB. It's very true that the Bills don't know if they have one in Josh Allen, but Beane is likely willing to bet that the Bills do, based on what he has seen. To not pursue Mack because you doubt that Allen is a franchise QB is just downright stupid for Beane. It's akin to him admitting that 4 months ago he made a big bet on the future of the franchise and you already feel you made a mistake. Beane also maneuvered to keep enough assets to draft a dynamic athlete LB in round 1 -- who could be an amazing player but is yet unproven. I believe Beane has been really smart with the assets he's been given thus far. If Beane makes a move for Mack..It will be controversial -- but it would also show confidence in what he has built to date. We all expect next year to be a contention year. Mack would be in my mind the first 2019 personnel move and propel the Bills forward.
  4. If Mark Davis has any sense of history, like his dad did, he would just give the Bills Mack.. https://www.silverandblackpride.com/2014/3/25/5547182/oakland-raiders-wouldnt-exist-without-ralph-wilson
  5. I think you are on to something. Benjamin is basically a TE...so keeping Clay, Jack's Grandson, Kelly's Boyfriend, the starting QB (Logan), Towbridge and Lee gets us to 7...
  6. I will go under (think it will be one). Another question...Offense Cuts from the Patriots - Over/Under 1.5.
  7. Should Tops and Wegmans start clearing the shelves for Peterman Puffs?
  8. I loved it.....the Super Fans were so much better than the crew last night...
  9. He's likely not in the top 4 but he has shown enough to be stashed on IR...
  10. Like the Oilers comeback. I have watched the second half 50 times. Watched the first half-never. I was working that Saturday. Anyway...that was fun!!!
  11. Logan Thomas baby....rocket arm....RPO tsar....he will wrap up the starting gig tonight. Mark my words.....Where is that mea culpa thread again?
  12. I thought outplaying the Panthers #1 O and #1 D the first preseason game was a good sign....
  13. Jalen Ramsey will use a Bears blow out as further evidence that Josh Allen sucks....
  14. Last year we saw this coaching staff can game plan and adjust. I am not willing at this point to write off the season. Here are the Bills major roster losses since the start of last year's regular season.. Tyrod Taylor - a read and react thrower who did a lot with his feet but less with his arm. Benched (1 game) and Injured (1 game) last year and we likely had the same record we would have had if he played in both these games. Cordy Glenn-injured 2/3rds of the season and the coaching staff coached up and found a replacement Richie Incognito - showed signs last year of deterioration particularly the later half of the year Eric Wood-The most impactful loss from both a leadership and performance perspective Marcel Dareus - Was not nearly performing to contract -- Bills managed to develop game plans without him that still ended in the playoffs but the run defense was porous EJ Gaines-Injured a lot but the team was better when he was on the field Preston Brown-Made tackles but did not make impact plays. Still a loss. I think there are 5 high impact losses - Incognito because our alternatives suck (this is a Beane miss); Wood because of leadership and our alternatives suck; EJ Gaines - not yet replaced; Preston Brown - Edmunds lacks the steadiness right now but adds big play ability, Taylor-Bills lack anyone who can improvise like he could but this system is about rhythm, not improvisation. So bottom line-The Bills start the season in appreciably worse shape than the end of last year from a talent perspective. I predict the Bills will be a majority run team on O the first part of the year. This is rare in the NFL -- but I actually like our 3 headed monster (Shady, Ivory and Murphy). We will coach to a lot of 16-13 type games (see last year's Atlanta game for reference) and likely go something like 2-6. The second half of the year to me is key...its when we will see Allen on the field and Edmunds maturing...we will open it up more. If we go 4-4 or better the last 8 games--watch out for 2019....we will all feel like the 49ers are feeling going into this year. Flame away...
  15. Phoebe plays LB on the British National Women's Team and also plays on a men's team in London. She's been a coaching intern for two years with the Bills. Congrats to her. Just from video clips, she fits the culture..she can also teach technique based on the tackles in this video
  16. Good analysis. The only thing I would add is that "recovery speed" is important in both schemes. Even in zone coverage, within your area of responsibility, you need to break on the ball quickly and defend the ball. "MC Hammer feet" is how coach put it. I think Vontae's speed has deteriorated and he is still adjusting to playing smarter rather than relying on his speed to cover slow reads in the zone. The groin is probably still a little tender and the system, as you say, is not second nature yet. I hope he closes the gap. I don't think he is in danger of being cut, but stranger things have happened.
  17. This thread should go to the waiver wire.....
  18. How about a $64 per person GoFundMe for bail money and incidentals to entice the sides to come together? Richie would have a stash and the Bills would say their batshit fans made them do it.
  19. The Bills should extend Vlad and John Miller.... an invitation to leave the team..
  20. John Wawrow: Did you order the code red on Josh Allen? I repeat did you order the code red on Josh Allen? Coach: John, what the heck do you mean by code red? JW: Vladimir Ducasse one on one with Geno Atkins is akin to ordering a code red on Josh Allen, that's what I mean....sir... Coach: You're damn right I ordered the code red. You want me on this sideline, you need me on this sideline. I want Peterman. If it means killing Allen, so be it. Stroms off...
