  1. Agreed, he's just trying to deflect
  2. The problem is, he appears to give EJ no credit ever! He is not objective about it, he thought EJ sucked from the beginning and wants to be proven right so bad, he won't relinquish anything. EJ has done what he needs to do so far, and has done a good job doing it. How about a little objectivity and thereby, praise for some of the things he did.
  3. I believe the correct nomenclature is "twits"
  4. Cant see it at work, but could it be that there was a high safety not in the picture that he was about to run behind?
  5. Love the All 22 review...Hackett's game planning is coming around!
  6. There are certainly good things that come with bad too. I recognize what's in bold, it can help to change things that are absolutely morally wrong.
  7. Hmmm weird, I've lived in Raleigh for the last 4 years and never heard this.
  8. Yes, the AP situation is a little different, he admitted to doing what he did and the pictures substantiate it (which he has not denied either), so I think his case is open and shut. Just the little grey area of what constitutes child abuse and what doesnt. To me, open abbrasions on his skin in multiple places IS child abuse. What does the system think?
  9. No, I dont have AP in any of my FF leagues, I tend to stay away from aging RBs, though he continues to prove me wrong when he plays. See above for the real issue here. You commit a felony and are proven guilty (Greg Hardy) then by all means, you need to be fired and never play again. I agree with that. I also agree that the NFL did what it had to do. The problem it all boils down to is the court of public opinion. It's a dangerous road to do what the court of public opinion wants you to do. That leads to what we have now, guilty until proven innocent. A post above I said this: "I'm saying theres an intrinsic problem with the court of public opinion swaying things so much. Often times, people react on feelings and don't have the facts in hand. Their views are skewed, and they want to roast and skewer the person who is "wrong" in their opinion without any intelligent thought to it. This is a problem."
  10. This is why he should not be in a uniform.
  11. Lol, I believe that people are a slave to their upbringing but that does not exhonorate them from all punishment. At the very least, if found guilty, he should be suspended for some length of time, and told to take some classes on the subject. I'm a proponent of corporal punishment, but it has to be reasonable. Can't do what AP did. I think we're arguing about two different things. I'm saying theres an intrinsic problem with the court of public opinion swaying things so much. Often times, people react on feelings and don't have the facts in hand. Their views are skewed, and they want to roast and skewer the person who is "wrong" in their opinion without any intelligent thought to it. This is a problem. If I've gone off on a tangent otherwise, I apologize, but that's the underlying problem here.
  12. Wow you took that in a different direction. I believe calling me a name like that is against the COC? That's not the point I was making at all, you're assuming the poster that I was responding to was a CEO? I'm assuming he was just another run of the mill employee, an assumption yes, but that how I took it. Now, a normal employee, underling, etc is not going to get front page news. They are going to get their due process. Again, I don't condone anything any of these people have done, I simply think everyone should have their due process just like it was meant to be. Innocent until proven guilty. The comment of there being many people who are under these despicable conditions of child abuse and domestic abuse was merely to point out that they are not on the front page. By no means do I say its right, I'm trying to make the point that they are NOT on the front page and so they would likely not get judged in the court of public opinion and would get their day in court. Exactly This is precisely the problem, "The court of public opinion" which is backwards and messed up. We're in a NOW NOW NOW generation, and its causing the right of due process to disappear. You're instantly judged w/o facts, that's a sad state of affairs.
  13. You do realize that kids are beaten everyday, and women have violence against them every day also. You don't see them on the front page of the news do you?
  14. So let me ask you this, do you think this kind of case would be plastered all over the news just like AP? Do you you'd be plastered on all major sports media outlets? Or any news outlets for that matter? No, you'd be on the last page of the news paper with one line, if at all. This is apples and oranges. Its likely your company would allow you to go through the process and still work. If found guilty then they make a decision. That's the way it should be. This is exactly right, and exactly the problem. Everyone has to have everything RIGHT NOW! No time to allow for the legal system to do its job. It's sad sad sad. Again, let me reiterate that I'm not trying to condone anything any of these people did. IF they are proven guilty, then they deserve everything they get. We don't know all the facts, AP's looks cut and dry, Ray Rice's does too, but we need to allow for the process to take place.
  15. So you've seen the contract say that he's guilty until proven innocent in these types of cases? It's that black and white. Can you take a snapshot and post it for us to have a look for ourselves what the language of the contract says?
  16. Very well put. However, Peterson has admitted to his wrong doing, and he himself, called it wrong. He needs to pay a pennance for that, but as you say, that doesnt make him scum, as horrible as it may seem on the cover.
  17. In this case, I agree. He's admitted to doing this, and its disgusting. It should be looked at in a cultural setting, one that Peterson had grown up in though.
  18. In this case, AP has admitted he's done it. So this is pretty cut and dry.
  19. That's the exact thing I'm talking about. I'm sorry to hear your friends having to go through such ordeals. The Greg Hardy thing is cut and dry. He should not be playing another down at this point. He's been convicted. At that point, the NFL should suspend him. That's BS what is going on with him. It's really not about AP to me, its about the big picture, and the dangerous environment these stiuations are creating.
  20. How do you not understand what I'm saying? You're either purposely turning a blind eye to what's right in front of you or you're just trying to start something here. I said, I'm not condoning what Peterson did. Reread what I said please. Namely: "Someone can easily doctor up a photo and present it as evidence to take a player out for weeks while the legal process takes its time because of the social media factor." No one here is defending Peterson for this. If CJ Spiller was GUILTY of the same, kick him out of the NFL for good and put him in the slammer for a long time.
  21. This was not my point. My point is, this is a slippery slope. Someone can easily doctor up a photo and present it as evidence to take a player out for weeks while the legal process takes its time because of the social media factor. I'm not saying that this is happening here, but it could lead to vindicitive people who want to hurt the player any way they can. Why not hurt them where it hurts the most? Their job, their lively hood, since its just soo easy to get people to feel symptathy and so easy for those people to pursuade the powers that be to suspend players for it?
