  1. I'm not trying to start a flame war with you, but this is the first positive thing I've seen you post and I'm more than a little pleasantly surprised by it. Hopefully Watkins works out the way we hope and the first we gave up in '15 will be a late round pick. I'm interested to see what they do with #41. I kind of hope he addresses the OL but if he doesn't, I'll just chalk it up to me being a fan and this being his job. In Doug I trust!
  2. And here I was thinking the trade and pick was consistent with Brandon's January press conference where he talked about the Bills taking bold steps to return to relevancy. Some players will take a little time to develop and we need to be patient but this is one of those instances where the Bills are a better team today than they were yesterday. And that's a good thing, isn't it?
  3. That's the same thing that struck me. While I was watching that video I was listening to GR and Whaley was talking about how he plays bigger than his size. I think this kid could be the true #1 WR we've been lacking for some time. It's not what I expected but I do like this move!
  4. By moving up from 9 to 4 they gave up one first in 2015.
  5. Plus this year's # 9 of course. Sammy Watkins!
  6. The next talking head who refers to the "University of Buffalo" when talking about Mack will make me freak out.
  7. I thought it was interesting when Boomer said something along the lines of nobody wants to see the Bills leave Buffalo Goodell said "I know you're a Bills fan, too, Chris." It was the first time I've heard him actually mention or refer to being a Bills fan. It's not breaking news, but it's reassuring to me to hear him say that. I think any owner who plans on moving the team anytime soon will not have an ally in the Commish!
  8. In fairness to CJ, it'd be different if he hurt his shoulder or something but a high ankle sprain - especially for a guy who relies on speed and quickness as much as he does - is a difficult injury to overcome, don'tcha think?
  9. Yes, and yes. Although it would give a lot of people who tune out after the first round extra incentive to watch!
  10. The Bills facebook page posted that a couple of days ago - it was pretty cool. For those that missed it, you can see the tweet at http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2014/4/29/5664912/eric-wood-will-sign-anything-you-send-him
  11. He must've deleted it - the last tweet I'm seeing he posted was from four hours ago thanking somebody for a good time and "awesome meal." What'd it say, Pete?
  12. That dude's name sounds like it should be a scotch.
  13. It seems some of you didn't actually read the article. It's pretty clear to me that EJ didn't go around literally asking people "How do I be a leader" but instead picked their brain for information and tips and the article mentions reading coverages and shifting protections specifically. Those are abilities most QBs acquire only with experience. And once they do acquire them, they are in a position to be better leaders. So, what's the harm in that? Why is that a bad thing? And as for you "Gee, I don't remember Kelly doing that" folks, just give me a freaking break. First off, how would you know? Were you such a big Gamblers fan back in the early 80s that you know with 100% certainty he never reached out to a more experienced QB for guidance? Secondly, does that mean every Bills QB has to be equal to or better than JK to be considered anything but a flop? Some of you - and we all know who you are - are so quick to pounce on any Bills news and spin your negatively it's predictably boring. Your contrarianism does not make you look smart or the least bit enlightened. In fact, it has quite the opposite effect.
  14. And while we're discussing potential owners, check out this short quiz of Who Said It featuring Donald Sterling and Donald Trump. http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/04/donald-sterling-donald-trump-quiz
  15. Would Glennon be a significant upgrade over Lewis, Dixon, and/or Tuel?
  16. There are some jobs - a lot of jobs - where your actions matter even when you're off the clock. It's because we hold them to a higher standard than Chuck the bricklayer. Cops, clergy, attorneys, teachers, accountants, C-level executives, etc, all know and understand there is an implied morality that comes with the job.
  17. I am an NHL fan. As much as I love my Bills, I think hockey is a much better sport. But instead of arguing with you over subjective claims (E Smith better than OJ???), let's compare the two clubs and see where we end up. The operating income for the B's is $18.5MM, $1.9MM better than the Bills' $12.6MM. For a market five times larger than Buffalo, that's not particularly impressive. All of those New England fans you referred to don't really bring much to the table. The B's average revenue per fan is only $21.00. Compare that to the Bills at $79.00 per fan. The Bills are the third from worst NFL team in terms of overall valuation at $870MM. The B's are the sixth highest valued team in the NHL but still trail the Bills by $270MM. Jacobs has a respected position in the NHL as the Director of the Board of Governors, and that's important. He's also owned the B's since '75, so he's an entrenched owner. As we all know, he's from Buffalo and he and his family are Bills fans. And I think that matters more than any of the numbers. If they want the team, or if they feel they are the best chance to keep them in Bflo for the long haul, I believe the Jacobs family will make it happen. http://www.forbes.co.../boston-bruins/ http://www.forbes.co.../buffalo-bills/
  18. But the Bills were not guilty of that - they made a strong offer to keep Byrd. Had they low-balled him, it would be different, but the Bills did not "let" their best safety walk. I always thought Stevie was in over his head as a #1 WR from a talent perspective. I'm interested in watching him healthy and focused playing in the slot. I think he could thrive there but if the Bills decide to move him I don't think it would be the end o the world.
