How do you figure the bills offence played terrific against Miami? They had 247 yards. The defence won them that game and Josh just had to manage the game on offence

I agree to a certain extent. I'm definitely not sold on Brady yet. Out of 4 games this year I think he was excellent against the Jags but that's it. ARZ I didn't like his game plan as I feel like Josh bailed him out. Miami was hard to judge as the defence won that game. Jags excellent, and Baltimore horrible. So out of 4 games, I feel like he called 1 really good game, 1 horrible game, 1 game that was hard to judge, and 1 neutral game where his QB played special

That kind of reflects the eye test in my opinion as Cam Lewis is pretty bad all around at corner. He has the occasional good moment, but more often than not looks like a soup sandwich out there

Ya he played I think 4 years in San Diego- From what I remember he was good, but not so sure he was ever elite and had the right shoulder injury scare Which caused Miami to sign Culpepper over him.. lol

In San Diego, would you have considered Brees an elite QB also though? I was a bit young so honest question, but to my recollection he wasn't

Fair but that was because of serious injury concerns with his shoulder I was a bit young so I don't say this with confidence, but to my recollection brees also wasn't an elite QB when he was with San diego

You're probably right in terms of they went to more neutral boxes. (As they most likely started with 6 in the box) But I think it was very rare they played with heavy boxes outside of a few plays, which I find extremely puzzling

I hear you and those are fair points. Bills were overmatched cause the injuries im Not denying that . You referenced the bills and heavy boxes though. If I am not mistaken, they only ran heavy boxes 8 percent of the time and I think Baltimore had around 55 plays? So that's like 4-5 plays you run heavy boxes- combined with a few goal line situations where you have to go heavy. So how many times did they actually run heavy boxes in open field, like 2-3 plays?

I think the bills had the wrong mindset going in though. Whats the best thing Baltimore does? Clearly running the ball. Whats the number one golden rule from Belichick, one of the best coaches of all time? Take away what the other team does best. I think the bills should have stacked the box and forced Baltimore to beat them deep as they are one of the worst down the field passing teams in the league. And if they crushed you deep? Then you can adjust a bit I just think the bills had it backwards and the ravens OC was a step ahead of them all game because of that

Interesting point as I had a convo with someone in the game day thread and they said the same thing where you should punt against those teams. I see it the opposite way- when you play great offences, I would try to get as many points as I can and try to keep the ball away from them as much as possible. Like if Mahomes , Lamar or burrow are on, does it really make that much of a difference if they start at the 15 or 45?

The most annoying part is he is aggressive against bad/average teams, but then against good teams he goes conservative. Example: JAX 1st drive of the game- 4th and 3 around midfield and he goes for it. Baltimore 1st drive of the game- 4th and 2 around midfield and punts. Makes 0 sense to me- You think you would want the opposite mindset, and not punt in those situations when you are facing great QBs

Problem for Miami is they were so tight against the cap. The way they built this team was ridiculous and flawed all around

I knew it was gonna be a long night when the bills defence opened up with two deep safeties and were in nickel against a power run team. Sometimes I just don't understand what this coaching staff is thinking

What in the actual hell is McDermott talking about lol. Does he not know how many drives were killed because of 2nd and 3 runs that resulted in no gain? Bills only TD drive was because Josh made an insane play and the guy wants to put more emphasis on the run game opposed to putting it in the hands of his elite QB. Dumb quotes like that officially make me believe the bills will never win a SB with McDermott
