  1. I don't agree at all. The bills have a long term plan. Figure out who on the roster can't play and get rid of them. In the meantime, I'm positive they are working on finding players to replace...
  2. Seriously? Talk about scapegoating... The only players that looked good on offense were: Edwards Parish Lynch Woods (only because his name wasn't called) Maybe Evans The rest of the offense line was a mess! The last thing I'm worried about is Edwards. I'm surprised he's alive after the mess around him. ...but if your a simpleton and like black and white...blame edwards! With that said, I would have liked to see him throw the ball downfield in the last series bit it was pointless with the blocking....he had defenders in his face within 2.5 seconds...can't throw downfield with that
  3. EXACTLY! There will not be any strategy or exotic play-calling in this one. Here is the double secret gameplan: Starters: Make no mistakes Make good decisions Don't get hurt for the 1-2 series your in the game Backups: Make no mistakes Make good decisions Prove to the coaches you can step in for one of the 1st string players if they go down ...and don't let one of the scrubs catch you! Bubble players / scrubs: Make no mistakes Make good decisions Play your asses off and prove you belong because this might be your last chance at making an NFL roster
  4. I'm trying to find a replay as well since I was not able to set my DVR for last night. There's nowhere else to see it now?
  5. Not true. That's not what happened at all. The Bills renegotiated multiple times and they did not have to based on the length of the contracts PETERS signed. The Bills showed more than enough good faith in rewarding the advancements Peters made in his game. The one thing they waited for was to give him the mega-deal until he proved himself at being consistently good over a multi-year period of time, which as we can see he has never done. Very well managed by the Bills....
  6. I second that...I stop by most days, but rarely post. Thanks Lori (et. al.) for the informative posts and providing a "1 stop shop" for the latest in Bills (and rest of the NFL for that matter!) news....
  7. No he's 51 years old, plus its hard to play when you are strung out on coke these days. Though, I am pretty sure he's in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which is more than a little associated with the NFL. He's also recognized as one of the top players at his position, if not top defensive players in the history of the NFL .... I'm fairly certain ALL NFL players are private citizens. Are you aware of any that are not??
  8. http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2010/05/06/nfl-s...igation/?hpt=T3 CNN has one
  9. Just reported on MSNBC...no linky This is just what the NFL needs....
  10. Well, I think you are on the message board of a northeast professional football team, so the whole "ya'll" thing and a discussion about a couple southern college football / semi-pro footbal teams just makes me want to gag ...of course that may be partially because there are no 'local' teams worth a crap so I'm jealous
  11. I don't get it, we can't vote on Shanahan, Holmgren, Gruden, Cowher, etc. because you don't think Ralph will hire them, yet you have Lindy Ruff as a choice?? My vote is for a known vet coach, at this point because that is "the type of coach I want" We can't roll the dice on an unproven commodity right now (see G.Williams, Mularkey) or a retread (see current coach).
  12. I have a question on this service since I will be in Switzerland for most of the season. Yahoo will not let me access the site to view the details since I am currently in the US. It says I am in a restricted territory! How much does it cost? You mention that it is like NFL Sunday Ticket, but the ticket does not carry all games. There are blocked games, games you must watch on the local broadcast + Sunday night and Monday night football that are only carried on the NBC/ESPN network feeds. This will carry all games?
  13. Actually, I think it started when Polian was fired. There was just a lot further to slide from at that point....
  14. ...for a coach that led them to 0-16 instead. WTF is with this doom and gloom thread!
  15. Fair enough. Though it is fair to say we do not know for sure exactly what was offered or not offered since we were not there and most of the leaked reports varied. A better way to say it: there is no way in hell the Bills were going to make him the highest paid lineman in the league after his stunts + 2 years left on his current deal....
  16. EXACTLY. It really amazes me how people continue to think this is an issue of being cheap. There is NO WAY IN HELL the Bills were going to keep a player that quit on the team. Holding out is bad enough, but the fact he clearly did not play up to his ability demonstrates that he quit on the team. You can not reward a player for that behavior or you will see every other player that thinks they are outplaying their contract (see Jackson) also quit on the team. The Bills did not create the collective bargaining agreement with the players, but they play by it and so should Peters. He needed to go...end of story. With that said, I wish Peters well with the Eagles (I happen to like the Eagles!). The problem is, the Eagles have opened pandora's box and now we are seeing the cancer spread on the Eagles with Sheldon Brown and Andrews complaining about their deals after watching Peters get rewarded for the same behavior!
  17. ....so they should have waited until May/June (or later) for the holdout to begin and the associated circus that would go with it? ...which would also further reduce the Bills leverage in a trade due to: * less interest from other teams wanting to trade for a two time houldout * the very real perception that the Bills would have to unload Peters due to the circus he is creating
  18. Then maybe YOU should have offered more!! What did you have to offer...a pack of gum and $40 (guessing what you have in your pocket.... ) OBVIOUSLY any other NFL team did NOT have a better deal to offer or they would have, so I think your point is off base. If you are suggesting that the Bills should have waited it out and traded closer to the draft due to gain some perceived extra emotion causing someone to reach, well, then you are also off base. In order for this trade to happen, it was contingent on a.)Peters passing a physical and b.) Peters negotiating a new agreement with said team. Both of these items take several days to complete sufficiently and any trade is CONTINGENT on the successful completion of both items. Therefore, it must happen like it did several business days before the draft in order to work, since if it did NOT work, you can not go back and "undo" the swap of draft picks after the draft! I agree with your point that we need to move on. This was a well-timed and well negotiated trade that was the maximum amount the 31 team market of suiters would pay.
  19. I am fairly sure that I heard on NFL Total Access (NFL Network) tonight that Detroit is negotiating with Curry's agent...and not Stafford's (yet??)! Did anyone else catch this? ..I was half asleep!
