  1. Are you suggesting a player can't be hurt and still pass an MRI? There is no chance he felt real pain and was concerned about doing further damage until the MRI was negative? Accusing a player of faking an injury is a huge deal, IMO. I don't know how people do this with the very few facts they have on hand.
  2. And what about the era of massive amphetamine use? Honestly I believe baseball has always been tainted by players using whatever they can to get an edge (as are athletes in most other sports). Baseball is paying more attention to it now, so it is now when the players are getting tagged with suspensions, fines, publicity for use, etc.
  3. Nice Fazioli piano he's got there.
  4. Coming from you that is high praise indeed, as you are another who knows Bills history. And, now that I have seen a few more responses, I'd like to make one correction from a previous post: This is not a chat room.
  5. What's all this now?
  6. and what?
  7. Optimism does not equal braggadocio. Confidence does not equal cocky.
  8. That is is, Cablebabe.
  9. After some brief research and a phone call to a friend, I believe Hard Rock Quarry was in Clarance. On, or near, Rte 5, perhaps. They had some decent concerts there, at one time. I think I saw Savoy Brown there.
  10. Are you suggesting that is a bad thing?
  11. Well, The Bills are in Buffalo and have been since 1960. There are currently no plans to move the teams, no offers that we know of, etc. So, I think you'd need to construct a very persuasive argument to convince me this IS the Bills last year here. I'm thinking you have nothing but a bunch of conjecture, circumstance and hunches none of which amount to squat. A number of things need to happen for the Bills to leave. I'm guessing it is unlikely that perfect storm develops since I see no evidence of it.
  12. I got a haircut today!
  13. Two quick questions: 1. Where did you go for the fish fry? 2. How did Feat sound?
  14. I've only read the first post and a handful of replies, so I am probably repeating what many have said. Sorry. Hopefully Lori is on a break. I can understand that. The old timers here know I've taken my share of sabbaticals (unannounced and I'm certain mostly unnoticed). She just may need a break from things. Sometimes the mind-numbing stupidity that goes down here can get to you. I try to ignore it for the most part, but then I notice I start getting a little bit crankier and make attempts to protect what I see as a very special community. I know some of you don't understand that, but to many here this is more than just a Bills forum. It's that for sure. But many of us have come to know each other, in real life and online. For many of us this is a special place and we try to protect that. Lori is one of the, if not THE, premier contributor to this forum. It's Fearless Leader's board and we owe it to him that it exists and has been as successful as it has over the years. But Lori is one of the major reasons it has been that successful. She does an enormous amount of work as a writer of articles (including the pregame reviews), as a moderator and as one of the few people here with a deep knowledge of Bills history. So, for those of you who haven't been around enough to read many of Lori's pieces and/or posts, trust the old-timers when we assure you her absence means more than yours, or mine quite frankly. I just peeked at the last post before I started writing this and have to agree with Dan's statements: I agree wholeheartedly. Lori, if you are reading, I hope to have you back here during the season.
  15. When you gonna learn that around here?
  16. I'm a netti pot guy now, too. Still having issues, but it really helps when I can get the fluid to go through. I'm often so stuffed the solution just stays in the pot. Having a good, caring, competent person to work with makes a huge difference, in my experience. If the person is a know it all and doesn't really care or is willing to try different things it is likely to fail, IMO.
  17. She's gotta have it!
  18. I can accept that. I always thought Carter was a bit overrated and Andre very underrated. But IMO they both deserve to be in the HOF. If you look at who is in the HOF there should be no doubt. BTW, I think Art Monk belongs, too. Remarkable consistency (at t high level) and longevity is as rare as the talent the flashier guys have.
  19. +1 Competence. A real unexpected treat, these days.
  20. BINGO! And there is also a middle ground between milquetoast and blow-hard. In general, I don't pay much attention to coach speak. But obnoxious braggadocio really gets on my nerves.
  21. Years ago I worked with a very cool woman bartending at a yacht club. She also worked at another bar, which I would visit on occasion. Whenever I'd enter she's shout: "Mr. Massengill, what'll it be? Vinegar and Water again, you douchebag?" She was one funny hose monkey.
  22. And the Devil is, as they say, in the details.
  23. Ryan continues to be a buffoon. Maybe he's not quite as obnoxious as his father and brother, but he's catching up. I rarely root against people, but this blow hard is one whose failure I won't mind watching.
