  1. Finally figured it out, but still don't really understand what the heck is going on. I am old.
  2. I'm only seeing what I posted, Joe B's comment. Maybe because I don't have a Twitter account. No biggie.
  3. Maybe a link mistake? I'm seeing: Joe Buscaglia @JoeBuscaglia Rex Ryan: The work Cyrus Kouandjio has put in all offseason has put him ahead of Seantrel Henderson right now
  4. "Paul McCartney? Didn't he used to play with Wings?" --an Intern of mine back in the 80's
  5. I believe we have ways of permanently keeping these severely damaged individuals away from society without killing them. I actually think the death penalty might be preferable to guaranteed life in a Supermax facility. If severe punishment/vengeance is one's reason for implementing the death penalty---well, I'll simply say there are fates far worse than death. But for the kind of criminals you cite, I can understand, and wouldn't object to, a capital punishment solution---if the process was transparent and fairly applied. Unfortunately the USA has a horrible record when it comes to administering the death penalty. It is hard for me to support the ultimate justice when the process itself is so unjust.
  6. Uh, not what I mean.
  7. Probably true for most serial killers who commit their murders over an extended period of time. But a mass murderer who kills multiple people in one act, can be acting out of hate. Maybe we need a special category for a Love Crime? Not a Crime of Passion, but for committing crimes against people because you really love them.
  8. I can only assume this is some sort of torture/punishment. Do they lock you on the ship and force you to listen to terrible, and very loud, music until your eyes bleed?
  9. I went to my mailbox. Had a few cocktails. Smoked a cigar. Posted on TSW. It was a fabulously lazy day.
  10. While I actually kind of like Huey Lewis, in the battle of the Bay Area musical groups, Tower of Power > Huey Lewis all day long.
  11. Who ever has leftover retatta?
  12. I'd actually watch CSPAN to see that. Well, maybe. Probably not.
  13. Hooray! You're welcome.
  14. We can only hope. This isn't Richie's second chance but more like his 3rd or 4th. He is certainly saying the right things, so I hold out some hope. Perhaps I'd feel a bit more confident about Rex's ability to handle the situation had he not said he was here to "build a bully". A bully is exactly what Incognito already is/was. I hope the Bills do not become "bullies" as bullies are cowards who pick on those weaker than them, but fold when confronted with real strength. I understand I'm probably getting too literal here, but I would have preferred Rex say he's building a team that won't be bullied, or one that stands up to bullies. But I know Rex likes to talk without thinking, which is one reason he is so popular with fans and the media.
  15. Yes, hysterical and crazy. And there is no place on THIS forum for this thread. Try Off The Wall. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/forum/48-off-the-wall/
  16. I was going to mention that, but I saw a review or two online where the posters said there were no Bills fans there. Now, looking back at the one review I could find, it was for a Thursday night game. So maybe that isn't the best time to judge the bar, as many fans will stay home to watch a game on national TV.
  17. Give CB Hannegans in Los Gatos a call (or visit). They were a meeting place for some Bills' fans. Looks like a pretty decent place: http://cbhannegans.com/?page_id=165 Of course, if you get to SF, check out the North Star Cafe in North Beach. The Senator and I got that started as the Bills bar back in the early 90's, when DirecTv got the NFL package. Tell 'em The Dean sent you---though by now I doubt anyone there remembers me.
  18. I admit I had my doubts about Hogan, but he has changed my mind--for the most part. He made a few easy drops, and that kind of a WR really can't afford to make drops. But more often then not, last year, I found myself screaming my, in my best Col Klink impression: Hogan!!!
  19. Well, that might be true to some extent. But the roster has a limit and typically you only have so many guys at each position. So if there is a problem of "too much competition" exists, it exists pretty much all the time, at this time of the year. There really is no downside (other than the possible cap implications) to bringing in guys with more talent to replace guys with less talent (all other things being equal). That is not an endorsement for bringing in Moffitt. I really have no idea if he is the right fit for this team, or if he has any interest in joining the Bills.
  20. Well, he may surpass Levy. I hope he does. But so far Rex has been somewhere between "pretty good" to "downright awful" as a head coach. He's humorous and the press and fans love him. But he has yet to prove himself in the top job. Hopefully, like some before him, he learns from his first stint and improves with the Bills. But at the moment, he isn't even in the same conversation as Wade as a head coach.
  21. I'm not quite sure how that is "apparent" as he only recently became a free agent. As johnwalter mentioned maybe he will be looking to try and win a ring in his remaining years and not just grab the highest $$ deal. The timing of this doesn't work in his favor if money is the only thing that interests him. But he will certainly have offers and as you note, if he's willing to wait, injuries always happen. If it's only more money he's after, then he may be SOL, at least for this year. But it seems as though he is pissed at Philly/Kelly for reneging on a previous offer. He might be happier to play for less on another team, for a GM he can trust. Maybe he makes a deal with incentives for this year, with a bigger number for next year. When you make millions and are financially set, it's easier to stand up on principle, while still making millions. I think Kelly is really playing a high-risk GM strategy. If it doesn't work, it will be interesting to see if the GM Kelly or the HC Kelly gets the axe---or both.
  22. Single handedly? Wow. That IS a bold prediction. Imagine only one guy lining up against eleven.
