  1. Indeed. Had "dog" but deleted it. Like ending with the handle.
  2. Why you be trippin' Cletus?
  3. Yes, they all looked "good". I think EJ looked the best of the three (and yes, it was against the 3's--and with his 3's) as he delivered the most impressive passes from the pocket
  4. I agree with much of what you say. But let's face it EVERY QB makes some maddening throws--no exceptions. The problem, IMO, is that EJ hadn't been making enough of the good/great throws to compensate for the bad ones. And while I agree Tyrod can make more things happen when the play breaks down, I think EJ shows great poise*---never seen him look flustered, actually. I have to admit I'm not sure what "leadership in the pocket" means, but EJ looked far better from the pocket, on Friday, than either Matt or Tyrod. Tyrod was amazing out of the pocket. *But does he have "Chroise"?
  5. Why are you blaming EJ for ONE offensive lineman not getting the snap count? You do know linemen move early on every team, on occasion, right? Is that always the QB's fault? In this case, it was a 3rd string guard who does not play much C. And he had just made a bad snap on the previous play. I'm guessing it was nerves on his part.
  6. There were a couple/three bars on GI we'd hit. Can't remember the name of any of them.
  7. Not really. In college it IS an automatic first down. Kelly pointed that out to you, and you said you understood, that's why you added "and no automatic first down". Maybe you are confusing it with high school football, where there is no automatic first down. So, again, in your system, a PI on 3 and 20 a 50 yard (potential TD) pass would result in a 15 yard penalty and no first down? I think that is far too little punishment and would result in regular molestation of WRs. Not really a game I'd care to watch. Motion and formation penalties serve a purpose, I think. The game works just fine with them, and it isn't as if there are a ton of illegal formation penalties clogging up the flow of the game. Letting the offense move without restriction would change the game significantly. I'd make one or two small adjustments with the Instant Reply system. 1st, I'd let any play be reviewable. But since you get only 1 per half, I'm not worried about the game being held up too much. And my 2nd change would take care of overuse. 2nd, the standard for overturning would be Obviously Miscalled. The review should take about 15 seconds of viewing. If the ref didn't "clearly blow the call" the call on the field stands. It's preposterous to look, repeatedly, from many angles, to see if a toe didn't graze the grass, etc... And, since this process has shown to be far from perfect--good calls get overturned and bad calls upheld all the time--it takes away a standard that cannot realistically be achieved. After all, didn't reply get momentum from some horrendous calls in big games?
  8. Aren't Niagara County bars open til 3AM on weekends? If so, this could create the reverse of the commute we used to make at closing time. We'd head to Grand Island for another couple hours of drinking (Niagara County bars closed at 2AM, when I was 18).
  9. I won't go see this movie, but I might check it out when it comes to TV. Not the biggest NWA fan (nor hip-hop in general). But I might go see a good movie about the beginnings of Wu Tang Clan.
  10. I've never been much of a fast food guy. Though I could rip through all the local pizzerias and taquerias, etc. No chains, though.
  11. I'm all for that. Back to the bump-and-run.
  12. 4.8%. Lower alcohol than Bud. Higher price should mean fewer drunks/people less drunk, no? Nice to see the Bills link up with a quality local brewery, instead of pushing industrial crap on their fans.
  13. The Booze and Weed beat would be right up my alley! I'd do the follow-up restaurant reviews for free.
  14. I had prosciutto wrapped asparagus, and it was good---the first time. The second time it was way too salty. But that brings up another problem--some people have the nerve to use bacon when the dish clearly calls for pancetta. Barbarians! Sounds like a third world problem to me.
  15. Agreed. But in a way they already can kind of do that. It seems officials call "illegal contact" when it suits their needs. What I don't understand is, why PI is waved off, if the ball is ruled uncatchable---but they don't then just reduce the penalty to illegal contact. And, if catachability is the key, how can they call PI on someone clear on the other side of the field? So, if I understand your position, a CB would just regularly molest the WR on passes that would likely result in a TD otherwise. Right? And if the play was, say 3rd and 20, the penalty wouldn't even cost the D all that much. As a former DB that would be great---except it would make the game a joke, IMO. THIS is the #1 rule that needs to be changed, IMO. I can't understand how it is still a rule. The "tuck rule" is another, but hasn't that been adjusted, somehow? No problem with that, but then there wouldn't likely be any negative yards assessed to the offense. You aren't suggesting they mark off the yards AND a loss of down, are you? But your second point about holding seems like it might work. You could also use the same logic with PI, I suppose. which might discourage rampant use of PI in some cases. But for the most part, the rules work pretty well, IMO. I'd be happy if they just changed some of the more ridiculous rules (fumble OB in the end zone) and start making more consistent PI/illegal contact calls. Oh, that and officials way off the play throwing flags well after the play. Don't those guys get a talking to, by the crew chief, after the game?
  16. Outstanding! Maybe I'll get this on a t-shirt.
  17. A better response from me would have been, "Elementary School?" I blew it! My brother-in-law drinks milk with everything. It turns my stomach to watch him drink milk with pasta in a red sauce.
  18. That's what I meant by "makeup specialist"
  19. I think you might be getting this a bit wrong. If you paid for something to resell in a bundle of goods, didn't get one item, but your customer bought (and paid the same price) for your goods anyway, you are out no money. If this story is correct, he was "reselling" the attendance of Geno. Geno didn't show, but the customers paid the same for the camp, anyway. IK wouldn't have any more money in his pocket (or bank account) had Geno attended. Now there is more to the situation that wasn't discussed (typical for Florio, who is a terrible journalist). Not having Geno attend may not have cost IK this year, but might hurt attendance (or the price some are willing to pay) in the future, if he can't deliver the stars he promises. Plus, it's just bad form to not show---that is, unless you had to attend the funeral of a good friend. Florid did have one good point, however, IK should know sometimes situations beyond one's control happen. He should have bought refundable tickets, or purchased some sort of insurance. The real bottom line here, IMO, is two macho idiots resorted to violence in a situation that didn't warrant it. For those who say "If someone disrespected me like that, I'd hit him", I can only say, "Well then, you are an idiot too."
  20. I'll try to do better in the future.
  21. I have to disagree with this. Thick one-ply TP, to me, is superior. This, I should say, from a guy who worked one entire summer making toilet paper (and tissues). My job, mostly, was to pull the broke (the paper coming out of the machine and onto winders, that breaks off the winder) from under the high-heat dryer. My buddy had it worse, as he had to pull the broke from thick coated paper---a truly sucky job. Quick fact: To make tissue paper, this same paper (mostly) was slit by blades as it turned on the winder. Another of my jobs was to splash oil onto the blades. Of course, the oil would quickly get absorbed into the paper as it splashed all over. I really hope quality manufactures did/do it differently. We made crappy ( ) institutional TP and tissues, for the most part. Wine is a second world staple! Old school, as in when you were five?
  22. Agreed. But it's hard to blame him too much, as he really isn't a center. This was a case of a guy who doesn't play center, snapping (poorly) to a guy who has maybe never worked with him (and if so, probably very little). The snaps were not "uncatchable", but hey probably surprised EJ a bit. The first snap was worse, in some ways, than the second. But the second snap looked to be too early and it looked like it was a rocket (by snap standards) and off to the side. If Kupper was likely to play center, I might be worried, but I don't think that is in the cards. And even if he does, he should have time to practice. To me, the takeaway from the two bad snaps/mis-handles, is that EJ recoverd from them, quite nicely. Contrary to what some say, to me EJ appears to be quite calm and confident on the field.
  23. I'm a Cam Newton fan. He's one of the best of the 2nd tier guys, and will be among the 1st tier guys very soon. I also agree if the Bills had Cam, they'd be among the SB favorites. But I don't think he looked very good last night. Not that it matters in their first preseason game.
  24. I agree, to a point. But none of us really know what transpired---except for what we hear about what transpired right before the punch. Again, I'm no Geno fan, and don't really care to defend him. It seems clear her there was more going on than what we know. Hell, it could even look worse for Geno, if and when the facts come to life. It could also be IK was a putz when trying to collect the money. I think the real point is any two semi-intelligent, professional humans should be able to deal with a situation w/o coming to blows. "He stuck his finger in my face" is absolutely not a reason to punch anyone, let alone a teammate, in the locker room. Yes, these guys are alpha males and play a violent sport. But punching teammates in the face is not a common occurrence in locker rooms, despite what some of these knuckle daggers think. Maybe it was at some point. The world is changing. Football lags behind in some areas, but not that far behind. I'm also not saying this makes IK a terrible human. Just a guy who needs to learn with anger a bit better. If he turns out good enough to contribute, I have no problem with him making the team. But the idea that punching a teammate (even if the guy is no good and/or not liked) is somehow a good thing, is beyond stupid.
