  2. If you enjoy inflation , product shortages , lack of workers, hospital no elective surgery then don't get vaccinated. That will teach Biden.
  3. The spat began when Kreutz, in explaining that Chicago needs to open its wallet to attract the best minds, said the Bears had offered him $15 an hour in 2018 — minimum wage in the city — to work with the team’s offensive linemen. Kreutz said then-offensive line coach Harry Hiestand and outgoing GM Ryan Pace have confirmed the account. Yet, when McCaskey was asked about the offer Monday, he suggested Kreutz was not being truthful. https://nypost.com/2022/01/10/ex-bear-olin-kreutz-unloads-on-george-mccaskey-as-feud-heats-up/

  5. Fact check: Republicans, not Democrats, eliminated the Senate filibuster on Supreme Court nominees In 2013, Reid and Democrats lowered vote threshold on most nominees, but not for Supreme Court picks In 2013, Democrats held a majority in the Senate while President Barack Obama occupied the White House. For four decades, a 60-vote supermajority had been required to advance all federal judicial nominees and executive-office appointments, per The Washington Post. Then, Senate Republicans attempted to filibuster multiple Obama nominees to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, his pick for Defense secretary, and his choices to lead the National Labor Relations Board and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In response, Reid orchestrated a move to lower the Senate vote threshold to 51 to confirm most presidential appointments — but not nominees to the Supreme Court. In 2017, McConnell and Republicans lowered the threshold for nominees to the Supreme Court By 2017, roles had reversed — Republicans held the majority in the Senate, and President Donald Trump sat in the Oval Office. After Senate Democrats, now in the minority, filibustered the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch — Trump's first nominee to the Supreme Court — McConnell engineered his own "nuclear option." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/10/01/fact-check-gop-ended-senate-filibuster-supreme-court-nominees/3573369001/
  6. Brady said he wore a dry divers suit under his uniform to stay warm and dry in bad weather.
  7. Did McConnell carveout the filibuster to appoint 3 Supreme Court Judges for Trump ?
  8. I watched their reason for not wanting Biden and Harris there. They blame both of them for not getting Manchin and Sinema to carve out filibuster to have 51 votes for voting rights. Voters had the last say for their Senators simple as that.
  9. Even Canadians fear US democracy could end soon "The United States is coming to an end. The question is how." Those are the jarring opening lines of Canadian author Stephen Marche's new book, "The Next Civil War: Dispatches from the American Future." Released the same week as the anniversary of the January 6 attack on our Capitol that signaled how dangerous our political polarization has become, Marche's book shares different scenarios of how the United States could collapse. https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/09/opinions/canadians-fear-us-democracy-collapse-obeidallah/index.html
  10. Yep Omicron is less lethal but more spreadable then previous variants . With vaccines , treatments , and mitigation we are now in a better place just not there yet.
  11. "We can't vaccinate the planet every six months," says Covid-19 vaccine creator Pollard, who also heads up the UK's Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization (JCVI), stressed the "need to target the vulnerable" going forward, rather than administering doses to all those over 12 years old. More data is needed to ascertain "whether, when and how often those who are vulnerable will need additional doses,” said Pollard. https://edition.cnn.com/world/live-news/omicron-variant-coronavirus-news-01-04-22/h_b563a607338c0ca3ff13520fa4d5f96e

China claims US will pay ‘unbearable cost’ for aiding Taiwan President Biden had said the US has a commitment to aid Taiwan https://www.foxnews.com/politics/china-claims-us-will-pay-unbearable-cost-taiwan The World Relies on One Chip Maker in Taiwan, Leaving Everyone Vulnerable Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s dominance poses risks to the global economy, amid geopolitical tensions and a major chip shortage Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. TSM -0.82% ’s chips are everywhere, though most consumers don’t know it. The company makes almost all of the world’s most sophisticated chips, and many of the simpler ones, too. They’re in billions of products with built-in electronics, including iPhones, personal computers and cars—all without any obvious sign they came from TSMC, which does the manufacturing for better-known companies that design them, like Apple Inc. and Qualcomm Inc Its dominance leaves the world in a vulnerable position, however. As more technologies require chips of mind-boggling complexity, more are coming from this one company, on an island that’s a focal point of tensions between the U.S. and China, which claims Taiwan as its own. https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-world-relies-on-one-chip-maker-in-taiwan-leaving-everyone-vulnerable-11624075400

  21. Sweden and the US are night and day , climate , massive foreign visitors , population. It is more accurate to compare them to their neighbors.
  22. A year and a half after Sweden decided not to lock down, its COVID-19 death rate is up to 10 times higher than its neighbors Plus, Sweden's economy still shrank 8.6% from April to June of last year — its largest quarterly fall in at least 40 years. By comparison, Denmark's economy shrank 7.4% during that time, Norway's 5.1%, and Finland's just 3.2%. (None of these economies shrank by more than 4% over the course of 2020, though.) Sweden's unemployment rate also rose from 6.6% in March 2020 to 9.5% in March 2021. Norway, Denmark, and Finland all saw unemployment rise by smaller margins: around one percentage point, on average. https://www.businessinsider.com/sweden-covid-no-lockdown-strategy-failed-higher-death-rate-2021-8
