  1. Share of Covid 19 Deaths in Nursing Homes & Assisted Care Facilities map of U.S. https://freopp.org/the-covid-19-nursing-home-crisis-by-the-numbers-3a47433c3f70 Other states were a lot worse then NY, that is no excuse for what happened here
  2. I hate to see controversial statues part of history destroyed , put them in a museum with a explanation. Same with the names of military bases, rename for Congressional Medal of Honor members , buildings on bases also. Audie Murphy and Alvin York are my heroes
  3. What the heck happened , I thought Botts was just given a vote of confidence.
  4. Never ever resist arrest , even if innocent . Mental illness and drugs on the other hand likely to resist.
  5. I was not sure if the cut was for employee or employer How Much Money Would a Payroll Tax Save You Every payday, 7.65% of your wages are subtracted from your paycheck to fund Social Security and Medicare (6.2% for Social Security; 1.45% for Medicare). Your employer pays an equivalent amount of tax. For 2020, the Social Security tax is only levied on the first $137,700 of earnings; however, an additional 0.9% Medicare tax is collected on wages over $200,000 for the year. It's not clear if the Trump administration is pressing for a 100% payroll tax cut (i.e., no tax is taken out of your paycheck) or only a partial cut. Assuming it's a 100% cut, then someone making $15 per hour and working 40 hours per week would save about $46 per week, or slightly over $180 per month. Democrats and some experts are also concerned about the impact on Social Security and Medicare, which are already dealing with financial issues. Since payroll taxes fund the two programs, they are worried about the long-term effects of diverting money away from these two social safety nets. https://www.kiplinger.com/article/taxes/T054-C005-S001-what-a-payroll-tax-cut-would-mean-for-you.html Unless the federal gov makes up the loss to SS and medicare then I would be against it
  6. I'm interested in which party controls the House and Senate in 2021 .
  7. To me it looked like the supervisor pushed the officer who pushed the man instead of ordering arrest. The 2 officers did not look like they meant any harm to the man , it just went bad . Poor judgement to shove a elderly man. I would be surprised if the Grand Jury indicted them.
  8. How will a tax cut for those working help the millions of unemployed and businesses going under ?
  9. U.S. Ballistic Subs alone could make China disappear.

  12. Lets see what the economy and covid 19 look like Nov 1. I don't favor either one but will accept the electoral vote.
  13. Biden would be wise not to debate Trump , just read from a script till the election.
  14. The police were calm and polite until he resisted . Not likely mental illness or drugs what the heck made him fight and run ?
  15. I think Mayors will fire right away to try and prevent riots and more deaths. I would not want to be hit in the eye with a taser dart that might have spooked the officer. They have his ID and car , shooting causes more riots during these tense times.
  16. A Black Lives Matter protester carries an injured far-right protester to safety, near Waterloo Station. DYLAN MARTINEZ/REUTERS https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/inpictures/pictures-uk-protest-slammed-racist-thuggery-200614073924149.html
  17. Received post card today that the polling station I've used over 30 years a half block from where I live is closed for the June 23 primary. I expected that so have a absentee ballot for the primary and should receive one for the general. If covid 19 is spreading in Nov a lot of polling stations will be closed and could cause chaos with that election across the country. I'm in the high risk category and a lot of others are also who want to vote safely.
  18. The House had his hands tied controlling the budget , 2 expensive wars to fund , and less funding to repair the military Budget Control Act of 2011 An Act to provide for budget control. 19. Beijing district in 'wartime mode' amid fresh coronavirus cases Beijing closes city’s largest wholesale food market after detecting seven locally transmitted cases over two days. He added that throat swabs from 45 people, out of 517 tested at the district's Xinfadi wholesale market, had tested positive for the new coronavirus, though none of them showed symptoms of COVID-19. Military police were sent into the Fengtai district to "seal it off" and many planned public gatherings and sporting events were now cancelled. Nine nearby schools and kindergartens were also closed. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/06/beijing-district-wartime-mode-fresh-coronavirus-cases-200613065127299.html They do not fool around there
