Wow you guys are missing the point. The point is the offense did NOTHING the rest of the game then you expect it to all to come down to 1 play and they actually execute? Did you not watch the rest of the game where they didn't? That game was embarrassing for the offense and it's not because of 1 play

here you go, i hope you like my art skills. red is what Zay should have ran and yellow is what he ran. if he presses the safety look how much more room he gives Tyrod to deliver the ball. by cutting it off he shortens the area between the defenders and either one could realistically make the play. by pressing the safety high he has a ton of room if Tyrod throws the ball a little short not to mention it's much easier to make a catch coming back to the ball than it is falling away

it's more about where the defenders are and there's a window Tyrod will throw to in a zone coverage. they wanted Zay to press the safety and then that gives Tyrod a bigger window to deliver the ball

this is very true. receivers have a tendency on slants and posts to cut it back in instead of staying high. once you beat a defender to the inside or outside you want to press him and get good body position. if the QB throws it short then you have tons of room to break it off if needed. as a receiver you feel like i need to get away from this defender but thats actually not what you want to do on the pattern itself, give the QB the room to make the throw to the open field.

in yesterday's game it shouldn't have. only scored 3 points and 170 yards total offense? we deserved to lose regardless of the refs missing a call and Zay not making the catch

true but it shouldn't have come down to 1 final drive. we scored 3 freaking points. you can't leave the game in the refs hands

i said it after the Jets win, he only threw to TE's and RB's. it was pretty obvious that he still couldn't connect on throws to WR's down the field and the Panthers saw that. they stacked the line of scrimmage and took away the run and the short routes and Tyrod can't throw normal routes down field and we don't have any deep threats so it was pretty easy to take away our offense

The offense is toast vs Denver D. This is the Denver offense they saw in practice every day. You thought today was bad just wait. I'm glad they didn't score at the end because everyone would be singing Tyrod's praises for leading us to the victory. Holmes interference, Shady facemask no call, Zay drop...we had chances to win for sure. We shouldn't have needed that last drive though. We did nothing the entire game and that's the problem. Tyrod was looking to run every chance he got and was checking down to the RB and underneath routes as much as possible. Is this the Trent Edwards offense where we don't throw it more than 5 yards down field? We need a real QB

Peterman has already had a successful rookie season. He made the team and outplayed Yates. You shouldn't expect any more than that from him. Next preseason is when you would want him to push the starter for playing time. I think we are going to see him this year though and he might not be ready. In the meantime hopefully he's learning and preparing like he's the starter because sooner or later he probably will be

Very good defense today. They were getting roasted on the zone hitch routes but must have made the corrections at halftime. That plus the pressure on the QB and they were great in the 2nd half. But when you don't have an offense it doesn't matter. We had a few years when we had a great defense. The London Fletcher years come to mind. The Schwartz year. Sucks to waste such a good defense when we can't score
