  1. When reading this I was laughing about how this sounds like the anti-cyclists thread. Then you drop the reference in there. >> And yes, I am making some fun of myself (cyclist). And no, I am not trying to hijack the thread. <<
  2. 2 small gardens. One for greens, beans, herbs, and the like that is fenced to keep the critters out. The other for tomatoes. Make a salsa at the end of the season that I freeze for use in the winter. Grow rhubarb and asparagus in some perennial gardens around the house. Make my own sauerkraut. And the occasional ice cream with a hand crank maker. Used to can strawberry and rasberry jam, but the canning lids got harder to locate (lazy?). Going to look into a smoker for my birthday.

  11. Statement on surgery per Buffalo News - Bills great Jim Kelly underwent successful surgery this morning and is resting comfortably at Erie County Medical Center, according to the hospital. Here is the statement released by ECMC’s Thom R. Loree, clinical director of the Head and Neck Surgery Department, and Dr. Maureen Sullivan and Dr. Mark S. Burke: “At Mr. Kelly’s request, we thank everyone for their concern and well wishes for him and his family. Today, Mr. Kelly underwent a partial maxillectomy to remove a squamous cell carcinoma of the upper gingival caused by chronic irritation at the gum site. He underwent reconstruction with a dental obturator. The surgery went very well. “We are hopeful for and anticipate a speedy recovery and successful outcome. “Mr. Kelly is recovering comfortably at this time. He is in the capable care of the great nurses and staff here at ECMC. He will remain here at the hospital until he feels comfortable to go home.”

  17. Here in Cbus area (Worthington) the market just moved from their indoor winter location to the "town center" outdoors. Produce is a bit thin at this time, but in June a tidal wave will begin. CSA's seem to be the current trend. Too much food at one time for only me and not enough neighbors to share.
