I saw someone mentioned the Dolphins/Jets being on bye in week 5, but also remember the Chiefs have a London game Week 8, and therefore will be on bye Week 9. Sigh, offseason cabin fever, I made a chart. And I kind of want to win season tickets. http://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8iZl6wxafbrYkRPTG5KQlFJR1E/view?usp=sharing Blue = AFC Division Opponents Green = AFC East Games Red = NFC Division Opponents Gray = Misc Opponents A few notes - 1. We have had 2 season home openers in the last 5 years, and 3 away season openers. Maybe we have a home season opener this year to even it out? 2. They seem to like to bookend our division games 3. They almost always give us 4 road games in the first 8, and 4 in the last 8. (I know, I know, pretty obvious) 4. There really is no method (or at least pattern) to their madness 5. Just noticed we have been alternating home/away with the Dolphins in December every year. If it follows the trend, Dolphins will be visiting us late in the season.

Bills Big Spender - calculated or reckless?
What a Tuel replied to BillsFan-4-Ever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't believe we overpaid on anyone but Clay, and he was a very special circumstance. Hughes signed a team friendly contract. McCoy signed for more guaranteed money, but a lower average cap hit than his original eagles contract (although he didn't have much of a choice) Harvin is making $6 million, which is about the same as the Jets (add in Seattle fronting the signing bonus, and the Jets paid more), and much less than Seattle was paying originally. Felton while making more guaranteed money with the Bills, he is making less as a yearly average. Urbik took a pay cut We certainly paid players to come here, but we didn't overpay. -
NFL coaches ranked 1-32 by CBS sports

You forgot Oakland. The AFC North is not the toughest division in the NFL. That is baloney. They had a cake schedule. I'll mail the proof to you in December. -

They also ranked us 5th (4th? if Oakland is really just a B) overall. I read through most of them, and they had some pretty good points. They have a serious dislike for DeMarco Murray to the point of congratulating the teams that lost out when they bid for him. -
Freds rushing stats last year
What a Tuel replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ah ha, this is what I was looking for. I knew the punt "fumbles" had to be something that wasn't a huge deal, because I don't remember it being detrimental to any of the games. Overall great post though -
Freds rushing stats last year

He was starting rb for half the season while spiller was out and was out a couple games himself. Then there is the line that was a contributing factor that had us going from second in the league in rushing in 2013 to 25th or so in 2014. Add that to the fact that LeSean mccoy is the starting rb, and I have to ask. What's your point? Jackson isn't going to get as many carries and Bryce hasn't shown he can do better with the carries he's given (3.5 yds a carry 0 tds) -

I think that if you were honestly interested in judging Fred as a player, you would know where these fumbles happened and how they were detrimental to the team effort. If I had nfl game rewind I'd go back and look and see if these were bad fumbles or not. The fact that you are so willing to dismiss reasoning and go straight for the throat tells me all I need to know about your motives and that this thread should be disregarded. -

Bryce had 1 more fumble than Fred in 4 times less carries. That's besides the point that if you are going to criticize someone, try being honest and accurate. Do you have a problem with 0 rushing fumbles? Can you tell me his 2 punt return fumbles? I don't remember them and I feel they might be a statistical anomaly. -

Just go look for yourself at nfl.com career stats. Last year he had 0 rushing fumbles. 3 receiving fumbles (0 lost) and 2 punt return fumbles. That equals your 5 fumbles but he had zero rushing fumbles last year. Can someone tell me when Fred fielded punt returns let alone fumbled 2 of them last year?! -

What a Tuel replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I said. 15 rushing (0 rushing fumbles last season) 8 receiving (3 last year. 0 lost) 4 kick/punt return Your original post suggest he had 5 rushing fumbles last year. He had 0. If you are including his receiving fumbles, then I suggest you include his receiving stats as well. -

Brown 36 carries for 126 yds, 3.5 ypc. 0 tds, 1 fumble, 0 fumbles 2013, 4 fumbles 2012 Fred has 15 fumbles (10 lost) on 1,279 carries over his career Brown has 5 fumbles (4 lost) on 226 carries over his career I'm not blasting anyone, just throwing out stats Edit: Just went to verify your stats and I see 0 rushing fumbles for Fred last year. He had 3 receiving fumbles though (none lost). Care to add his receiving yards into your stats if you are going to include his receiving fumbles? http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/10195/fred-jackson -
Would You Rather - Fitzpatrick or Cassel?
What a Tuel replied to BBills14's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe I am not remembering correctly, but wasn't one of the knocks against Fitz that he couldn't throw a 10+ yard ball? That's not to say Cassell could either though. -
True, the author laid out a decent case in the article that we might have to make some decisions, but I'm not too worried. However it is nice to know it is an option.

Can't we just restructure Clay next year like we were afraid the Dolphins would do to match?

Walter Football grades for every transaction so far

Your profile pic must be accurate because you have to be a troll. Old contract $10.2 Cap hit in 2015 $7.15 Cap hit in 2016 $7.85 Cap hit in 2017 New contact $5.6 Cap hit 2015 $7.675 Cap hit 2016 $8.875 Cap hit 2017 $8.95 Cap hit 2018 ($5.2 Dead Money) $9.05 Cap hit 2019 ($2.6 Dead Money) As you can see we did quite well renegotiating his contract. We effectively locked him up for 5 years, and if he doesn't do well post 30 years old, it will be relatively painless to cut him. FYI the eagles took $3.5 in dead money just trading him. Running backs are a dime a dozen though right? Care to throw one out there that would have been available at our pick? I'd like to find out if your gamble would've turned out better than our obtaining a bonafide running threat for our running offense. At the very least one of these drafts we can toss out a 4th rounder to draft his replacement, piece a cake -

Not to mention continue with $3.5 million of dead cap McCoy money. -

I read a lot of the other ones, specifically ones relating to our division. The guy just doesn't seem to like teams spending money, and he makes that a major factor in his grading. If you ignore the grades, there are some good insights though. I'm not sure why people compare Clay's 5 yr 38 million (7.6 per year) to Grahams 4 yr 40 million (10 per year) as though they are almost the same but then rate Cameron's 2 yr 15 million (7.5 per year) as great. Edit: Even breaking down the guarenteed money, Clay got $20 million guarenteed or 4 million per year where as Cameron got $12.5 million guarenteed or $6.25 per year. -

I didn't know we were planning to win 3-5 years from now. I thought the plan was to break the streak, and get back into contention. We will see in 3-5 years what we need to do, Whaley and Rex did what they needed to do to win NOW. So sorry to ruin the worlds 5 year plan for the Bills -
Will the Bills ever sign Charles Clay?
What a Tuel replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Greg F that makes sense but I think what is meant is that the transition tag cannot be used again til the contract expires if they did not match the offer. So if Cleveland didn't match Macks offer and he went to the jaguars, Cleveland would have been disqualified from using the transition tag again until the contract expired. I'm not sure if that's right, but that's how I took it. Edit: otherwise why wouldn't every team tag a free agent every year and just wait to see what the offers will be. No offers and you don't want to pay the high priced tag? Rescind the tag and you are done. Otherwise wait for an offer you are or aren't comfortable with and you are sitting pretty. That's where this penalty comes in. -

Offering something that was over Miamis cap limit was never a real thing. For one they already have 7 million paid for in their cap for clays tag. Throw in the extra couple million they already had and we weren't going to beat them that way unless we offered something insane and hamstrung ourselves. -

We may be focused on one, but be assured they aren't. Proof is in the Harvin signing. -
