Breaking: Daryl Williams signs 3 year extension
machine gun kelly replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But inside sources say some guys have a house on the market. 🤪 -
And Badolz, does the broken leg mean he’s injury prone? Even a torn pec is not like tons of soft tissue injuries of bad knees, ankles, etc. Hey everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I disagree with you. Players get hurt. Watt just received $15.5 mil., Gronk was paid at top level and had multiple back, forearm injuries. I’ve torn a pec. If you’re stretching rigorously, using yoga etc., to keep yourself from unnecessary injuries, it doesn’t mean you still can’t get hurt. Eric Wood missed 24 games in his 9 year history. One was a broken leg. Bottom line for me if he’s in the future injured, he won’t realize those dollars, as part of his contract. You don’t like him, ok. No worries. I don’t see this as a problem. I respect you’re opinion, just don’t agree it’s a big issue. Hey, I could easily be very wrong in two years. We’ll know then and they certainly can get out of the contract in two years. Have a good one bud.
-
Thanks Nasty. Another tidbit Sal who analyzed as much as he could the contract, and made a significant pt. In the 6am hour for those that want to hear it on demand on radio.com. His statement was he only earns that $44 mil. If he plays. He has incentives to get to 44 by playing. He did get a substantial of guaranteed which is not touchable. So for the great Carnak guys who are predicting more injury proned years, he won’t get those $. For you youngins and I was only a preteen at the end of this guys run, here is the Great and Mystical Carnak. (Not for you OldManFan, Shaw, Chand, and so on).

Ask Pittsburgh how easy it will be to replace 60% of you’re line when they are only under by $6.1 mil. The Chiefs are over by $4.3 mil. There going to have to cut more players this week. That’s a lot of drafting of lineman. I like Mahomes, but he’s going to need a line for any success. At least he’s mobile, whereas Ben is not anymore. We bought a line in 2019, but we had a lot of cap space. The other problem for each team is they both pick towards the end of each round. I used to like the Steelers when we were in the drought, but there whining this year was annoying. The whole league had to deal with games moving around, and I didn’t hear other teams whining. As far as the Chiefs, they have some excellent players, but wasn’t unhappy about them getting spanked in the SB.

[Vague Title] Is this it with cuts/restructures?
machine gun kelly replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably. They have Epenesa as a backup. I don’t want to mortgage our future, but if they could find a way with other reductions, and cut Addison, how cool would it be to have Ngakoue, Oliver, Star, and Hughes. Milano and Edmunds with Edmunds best friend in front of him (Star), and one of the best three D Backs in the league as a unit. I’d love to see Jackson take the leap this year in the #2 position, and considering we play nickel more than a 4-3, we’d have Taron Johnson, or Dean Marlowe depending upon who’s we’re playing. -

Behind the scenes, I’m guessing Beane has already given the offer to Addison’s agent to either take a pay cut or test the market. Addison doesn’t have the leverage with an underperforming 2020 season. -
Joe Buscaglia's Mock Offseason
machine gun kelly replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Roberts is a luxury I don’t see us investing only because of the cap this year. In a normal year we keep him, but McKenzie provides more flexibility and should be cheap. He can do gadget plays, can be a backup WR, and in 19 was a CB for one game. He may not be as dynamic as Roberts, but Roberts does not impress me as a backup WR. I thought he was terrible in the Titans game. As far as Joe B’s article, he is already wrong on Milano. Joe B tends to write decent articles. -
Brandon Beane at Clemson pro day
machine gun kelly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well this has been fun reading. Someone on here mentioned before in FA, if there are the $ you plug holes, but don’t overpay. What we do in FA will determine what we’ll do in the draft. The Captain obvious answer that has even been eluded to by Beane is we need a rushing game, more production from the TE, and the ability to get a rush with four. we’re deep still even with Brown gone in receiving, we have solid LBers, and our secondary is our strength in defense. No TE will be available at pick 30 that’s worth it (find the $ for Jonnu Smith is my vote). Can we really find an effective edge rusher at 30 (I doubt it), so if we can get a high impact RB at 30 like Ettiene, I don’t see why not. If we have an elite O Lineman dropping to us that could impact the running game, ok. Im not in the camp of draft Ettiene no matter what, nor am I against it. It just depends how big of a run will QB’s go in this draft, edge rushers, elite O Lineman, etc. What people do above us will influence who we take. -
He’s been available to play 54 of 64 games plus 5 playoff games. So in the regular season 13.5 games on avg. He didn’t always start in the beginning of his career. He played himself into the starting role. He had a tough year in 2020, but that doesn’t mean he’s only available in an avg. of say 9-10 games for four years. $11 mil. On avg. was a nice price tag, and I started giving up hope Beane could sign him. This was an excellent day for the signing. He has months to rest up a and contribute in 21.

Who's your pick for a breakout season?
machine gun kelly replied to BruceVilanch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mark the tape. I’m all in on Wang and Jasper. You can never go wrong with a Wang. All kidding aside, I’m with the earlier poster it’s The Dane man. He has a very brief professional resume, but I’m going 21 Red on him. I think he may shore up #2. It’s a guess and have nothing other than eyeballs to think with even a modified off season if not a real one, he will make progress. Bruce, thanks fir the thread. -

The Jests. 😜 -
RRB, you might be right. For me, star opting out before the players knew how far the league was going to protect them was one of the fairest decisions. He has a congenital heart condition and was safe. I don’t blame him at all and no reason to think he was getting out of shape. I’m not saying you were bud. Let’s just hope he is in shape, taken care of his condition, and is a great contributor for us this year. We need him.

Really? I grew up there on South Park Ave. about 7 houses from 179. My father worked for the buff news for 44 years. I went to st Francis, a couple of years ahead of polian, Daboll, Telesco, and Caldwell. My cousin sat in front of Chris in home room for four years, as homeroom is done alphabetically. My dad worked with Vic, Felser, and knew for 40 years Van Miller. I also worked there for my college job delivering their inter office mail. I think I know Buffalo. You don’t know anything and just trying to stir up trouble. Why the heck would they cut a player that costs them more to release than to keep? Beane would never ever Do it.
-
Well my cousins hairdressers sisters mothers boyfriends other girlfriend said no way. It was completely reliable so must be the truth right. this is a ding ***** trying to stir up trouble. I won’t be mean mods but please delete this thing when you have time. It’s just instead of fake news a fake fan.

But did ya talk to Kim? Ya Diggs.

You have absolutely no idea like me and everyone on this board has no inside sources. Star is key to this defense and smells like inspiring fear. Done with is silly thread.

The Compensatory Pick System Is BROKEN.
machine gun kelly replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don, I don’t disagree at all, but it’s been around since FA started with Reggie White. I don’t see it ever changing. I’m happy they added recently the comp pics for promotions in management and coaching for diversity persons. It was a solid decision with the Rooney rule stuff. One of the things the MTC guys mentioned that I thought was interesting was it’s really an 8 round draft, not a 7, and what about the teams that did everything right, but their 4th round pick, picking 2nd is now several spots lower due to the 3rd round comp. picks. Don, if you have Sirius, I think you’d like it. Anyway, good to hear from you brother. -
The Compensatory Pick System Is BROKEN.
machine gun kelly replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Listen to MTC on demand from yesterday, Wed. on Sirius, in the beginning Pat and Jim review exactly the comp. pick system. You don’t get a comp. pick for cuts like Brown and Jefferson. They go through in detail the formula. I hope that helps for those who don’t understand this formula. -
Looks like John Brown was released
machine gun kelly replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never thought about the Bengals, but that makes a lot of sense. A healthy Brown would be great for Burrow. Burrow looks like the real deal before his injury. I felt bad for the guy, and the Bengals need weapons for Burrow. I’d hate see Smoke at the Pats or Jests. Both need weapons, but if I’m Brown, why go to a team that doesn’t have a QB. Now if the Jets take Wilson, and then another 1st, and then 5 more picks in the first 98 slots without anyone trading for Darnold. I wouldn’t be surprised another team giving away a 3rd for Darnold. I’m certainly not rooting for the Jests, but they can improve significantly and Brown could agree to it if they give him some assurances what support they will provide for him. I would strongly prefer the Bengals, But it could happen. -
Vernon Butler takes pay cut
machine gun kelly replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reduction, not restructure. Restructure just means you push the cap down the road. Now if he earns the incentives back, that’s fine. I forget he was primarily a 3 technique guy so thank you for sharing. Since he took the cut, it sounds like a good decision to play opposite of Star, and rotate with Oliver. The key is what can be done opposite if Hughes. I was in favor of Addison, but he had a down year. Can he come back to the four years prior to 2020, or can he be replaced and cut? I don’t know, but I’m expecting more moves from Beane. He’s not dumb. His end of year conference screamed he wante upgrades at TE, Edge Rush, and the running game. -
Beane's salary cap management
machine gun kelly replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me it’s a balancing act. Mortgaging the future too much will place us where we were in the late 90’s with John Butler. I loved him at the time post Polian, but he mortgaged the future buying tons of defensive talent like Spielman, Big Teddy, Wiley, Paul, and so on. Donahue was brought into fix it, when Butler went to SD and we know what a banner job he did. I understand the sentiment to buy a couple of stars and I floated the possibility of Ngakoue, but Inigo you are right. The problem even for some of soundest smartest guys on this board who are so passionate about the Bills, they want to whatever it takes to get that first SB championship. Most of us aren’t old enough to remember the 60’s championship wins. As always Inigo, thank for such a thoughtful and thorough thread that places things into perspective. I guess the insiders knew what they were doing when they voted him for executive of the year. I see the mood down here in Tampa after they pulled off what most thought wasn’t possible. To completely emasculate the Chiefs to 0 TD’s in the biggest game of the year. People in this city have been on cloud 9 since that night. I just want the same for my present and former Buffalo brethren. Besides, unless there more pay cuts, we don’t have that much. Some wise man again on this board have reminded us in years past we have to keep $12 mil. minimum in the rears. $7 mil. for the draft, and a $5 mil., emergency fund as players get hurt, and replacements are needed every year. So if we can find one or two more players to accept modest cuts, that would be optimal. -
He was mediocre in SF and worse in a Miami. It’s too bad as I saw him a couple of times in Brooksville in HS. For those that don’t know it’s a risky dink town about 50 minutes north of Tampa. He looked so fast back then, but he was playing against slower players. Maybe give him a workout post draft and I’m sure Daboll and McD will evaluate whether he can contribute on this team.

Go get this guy!!! (Kyle Long returning)
machine gun kelly replied to glazeduck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He’s 32 and took a year off. I wouldn’t write off Ford yet. He had one season and was moved back and forth out of necessity from RT to G. He was a natural G in HS and college. They were placing a square peg into a round hole. It wasn’t fair to him. If they went ahead and just slotted him at G, he may have had a better 2019. Now if in 2021, he plays strictly at LG and loses the starting job fine. I’m guessing he will steadily improve all year and he is still cheap labor. Thats much better than bringing in a 32 yr old player that could get hurt again. This is not a great year for players over 30.
