  1. Correct. Surprised to see fans here talking about this game like its a gimme. This is our first 8 win season since 2004.
  2. Personally I think Bridgewater looks better. Would rather have him. He was the clear #1 QB until he had a bad pro day, as I recall.
  3. KC and it's not even close. The most winnable game, for the second year in a row. Literally just gave it away.
  4. Are half of these comments intended to be stupid? I'm imagining a Broncos fan stumbling on TBD, seeing this, and having himself a hardy laugh.
  5. DT might be out....I'd say that's pretty much our only hope. Well, that and if JT hurts himself again.
  6. Was anyone on TBD against letting Byrd go? I feel like there was pretty overwhelming support for the decision not to offer him big money. Given his position and the fact that he's vastly overrated, Byrd is worth about half of what he received from NO.
  7. Winston will blow in the NFL. He really makes a lot of bad decisions. He's also such a jagoff that I can't see guys rallying behind him. Having said that, yes, he is a much better prospect than our backup QB.
  8. Thanks for putting that together, man. Just watched it -- sober this time. Excellent replay value.
  9. I don't think anyone is ecstatic about the situation - we're just happier than we were when EJ Manuel was playing QB. That's all. The only people on the planet who think EJ showed potential as an NFL QB live in Buffalo, NY. What prescient knowledge do the EJ advocates have that every other scout, analyst, GM, etc. fails to understand? Kyle Orton isn't great; I'd say he's mediocre to sub-par...and yet that's still a huge boost over EJ. As an aside (and I'm not using this as an argument against EJ, I just thought it was a funny story), a friend of mine was hanging out at a bar in Buffalo in July. A friend of his is buddies with Scott Chandler, who eventually happened to show up for a few drinks. At one point my friend asked him if he was confident with EJ this season, to which Scott sighed, replying, "we were better off with Fitz." He also added that the guys refer to Aaron Williams as "Pringles," because he dong is the size of a, well, you know. We sure could've used Pringles out there on Sunday.
  10. Pats win in a close one, as usual. They just have our number, plain and simple. I'll go with 24-21 Pats.
  11. To praise EJ at all for his performance in the SD and HOU games is, frankly, idiotic.
  12. Schwartz literally asked to be carried off the field, which kind of takes away from it IMO. Ecstatic we won and very glad to have Schwartz as our DC but it is kind of a douchey move. At least, that's what I'm hearing from everyone who isn't a Bills fan.
  13. Golden Tate is top 5 in receiving yards. I think he's earned the moniker "Showtime" after clowning our defense all day on Sunday. Thankfully they had zero other weapons.
  14. I know it's not rosy but going 4-3 through this stretch seems reasonable and would definitely be respectable. That would put us at 7-5 before the Denver-Green Bay gauntlet. Frankly, we're going to get annihilated in Mile High, and Green Bay will be very difficult as well, so I'm counting those as losses. We should be able to beat Oakland (even though it's an away game). It could come down to the game @ NE to determine if we make the playoffs. Just my two cents.
  15. Megatron not playing, or being hobbled, is a huge bonus. Detroit's defense is much improved, though, and that could be the difference. I don't think we're going to win in Detroit, but hopefully the Bills can prove the analysts wrong.
  16. Look, NOBODY thought Manuel was going to be good -- except for the Bills front office. He was projected as a fourth- or fifth-round talent, but the Bills inexplicably reached for him. Analysts destroyed the Bills for selecting him because he was slow to read defenses, inaccurate, and inconsistent in college. He was, at best, a project QB who might be able to pay off in several years if he was able to improve upon those flaws, which he clearly has not done in Buffalo. At all. We all wanted EJ to succeed because he seems like a standup, likable guy, but the scouting report was never promising. Unfortunately, EJ is a sunk cost. Now we have to move on.
  17. Unless it's too hard to get into DC, Grand Central and Laughing Man are both a lot of fun. You might be able to sit down at Laughing Man if you sit upstairs, whereas Grand Central you're standing the whole day for sure. Wings are better at Grand Central, while Laughing Man is probably the nicer bar of the two. Both have great beer specials. Have fun!
  18. I don't think anyone is excited about Kyle Orton. There is excitement because someone who might not be categorically terrible will be starting. That doesn't mean Orton won't be bad, it just means it's something different than what we had been trying, which clearly wasn't working.
  19. Nobody outside of Buffalo thinks EJ was a better prospect or has more potential than Bridgewater. Not a single person. We are the only team that believed in EJ. As many people on this board predicted, our front office was totally wrong, and it sucks. Hopefully they use better discretion the next time around.
  20. Wait...people are actually defending EJ after that performance? God, this is just sad.
  21. I love Sammy Watkins and want him to succeed as much as anyone. I own his jersey and he hasn't even taken a regular season snap. Having said that, there's a reason every single analyst ridiculed the Bills for this move. It's the type of move you make when you're one or two pieces away (even then history is still not on your side, but it's more excusable). The Bills are so clearly more than one piece away. Trading next year's pick was universally regarded as a bonehead move. Now we might not even get to watch the kid play for I don't know how long. Next year's draft is going to blow even more than usual. Oh, the Bills. I'm gonna go get drunk.
  22. For whatever it's worth, they discussed selecting the next division to cover on their NFC East podcast last week. They contemplated the AFC East, but chose the West instead because they didn't want to have to do research on the Bills. Soo I don't think they were going to come out praising the Bills based on their earlier bias, which may or may not turn out to be fair. Grantland has some really good stuff, but it also includes stuff from Bill Simmons and his wannabes (see: exalted fans who, in spite of their explicit biases and total lack of accuracy when it comes to projections, get to publish front page material on ESPN....actually now that I think about it, that's 95% of sports media). It's like listening to a Matthew Berry podcast...while you might find yourself entertained, you certainly don't want to put any money on the things they're saying.
  23. If you criticize EJ Manuel for being a bad QB, which he clearly is, you get flamed on this board. Why would anyone be optimistic about himl? And why is it taboo to be pessimistic about the Bills this season?
  24. To those saying "I don't give a crap about this story," that's fine, and honestly it's totally understandable. But I'm assuming you don't give a crap not because you're a homophobe but because you actually couldn't care less if a player is gay or not. My question for you is, do you believe a sizable portion of the American population is anti-gay? If yes, don't you think that's a detriment to the emotional and general well-being of homosexuals in our country? The story is getting as much coverage as it is because our country as a whole does not openly embrace - or even tolerate - homosexuality. Whether he is successful or not, the Michael Sam story serves to inspire gay people and really any others who have been discriminated against, picked on, bullied, etc. to believe they can pursue their dreams in spite of these obstacles. Nobody has to pay attention to this story, but the fact of the matter is it's important for the homosexual community. Nobody is asking you to be glued to a story like this, but it should at least be embraced as a positive development in our society.
  25. Sigh. I can take solace in the fact that they probably would've blown their first pick next year anyway.
