NFL Sunday Ticket 2014...No Satellite required!
Maybe Someday replied to gflande1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Highly doubtful. I used to do the bar thing but found it was much cheaper to get the package. $199 / 16 games = $12.44 per game. That's maybe 3 beers at the bar...4 if you don't tip. My wife & I were easily spending about $50/week on beer and food every Sunday so spending $300 on the max package was saving us money. Surprised it took DTV/NFL this long to do this. The NFL keeps finding ways to extend their grip. -
Bills' Final Sale Price contest
Maybe Someday replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
She let it slip during a little pillow talk?? LOL I'll go with 1.378 Billion. -
I believe in TJ too. I believe that his NFL dream won't be over once the Bills cut him this fall. Some team will give him a call…maybe Carolina…because you can’t teach speed.

Potential veteran QBs available next year
Maybe Someday replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't it a bit early for this kind of thread??? EJ has played 10 games in the NFL and so many want to give up on him already. He may not be Peyton Manning but he's certainly not Jamarcus Russell. It's possible he could develop into a Big Ben type player and I'd be happy with that. Why talk about signing some other team's castoff at this point? If EJ totally sucks it up, shows no sign of improvement and we're out of it by Halloween, then I could understand but sheesh. -
Bears have signed entire rookie class
Maybe Someday replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The rookie cap basically states what each pick will make so it's not a shock. Do all rookies need to be under contract before they can participate in OTAs? -
That makes no sense. I'd say a realist is someone who isn’t swayed by opinion – either their own or another’s - and is willing to admit when they don’t have all the answers. IMO, the egomaniacs are the people that state their opinion as fact. Like those who say they know that EJ will be a bust after only 10 games or anyone that reads this article and says I know he’s going to the Pro Bowl. None of us know for sure but I think that we all just hope.
-
That EJ has only played 10 games in the NFL, is nowhere near a finished product and probably still won't be by the end of this season even if he plays all 16 games. So we really have no idea if he is the answer or not and won’t know for sure for awhile. His desire and work ethic appear to be what you want from your franchise QB and we all hope it pans out. The truly great ones are never satisfied and will always work to get better.

Gotta love the attitude...now hopefully he can back it up on the field.

Does Sammy have a Jersey number?
Maybe Someday replied to oman128's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It'll probably be a few days before he picks one. When will he be in Buffalo? Then I think he's stuck with it for a few years due to NFL contractual stuff so can't wait around for a guy to get cut and then change. Just curious why you say not #83 for obvious reasons? The year after they let Andre go they gave that number to a scrub tight end, then to Lee Evans and didn't another scrub TE recently have it...maybe Mike Causin? If those guys can have it, it should be no problem for Watkins to take it. -
Stevie Johnson Trade Value
Maybe Someday replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good Post. Let's wait for some of these young guys to prove they can play before we dump a guy that has already done so it. I’m sick of having to play scrubs once the injury bug hits because we have no depth. Fixed. Let's wait for Watkins to prove he's an every down, true #1 WR before we anoint him so. I think people need to keep their expectations for Watkins in check. Just because we gave up so much for him doesn’t make him the next Randy Moss. It would be nice but I don’t expect that he will start the season as this team’s #1 WR but I do expect that he will be next year. This season I expect him to be part of a great platoon and will need to have a bunch of plays designed specifically for him, like screens/quick hits. Most WRs take time to learn the NFL game which involves reading defenses, making adjustments on the fly, etc. I get the feeling some on this board will call him a bust if he doesn’t go for 80 catches, 1200 yards & 8 tds this year. -
Except that Boldin only had 1 year remaining on his contract, Stevie still has 3. A team may be willing to give up a little more knowing they'll keep the player for more than 1 year. I still don't think we'd get more than a 3rd...no way we get a 1st. IMO, the only way we trade Stevie is if it's to move up and draft a WR to replace him. Man I can't wait until tomorrow night!!! So sick of all the speculation.

Does anyone think DT is now a need?
Maybe Someday replied to HerdMenatlity1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
MD's situation doesn't change a thing. He is not getting suspended unless they consider this part of the personal code of conduct. Even then, it's only 4 games and Branch can fill in. If we draft a DT, it’ll likely be a late round guy for depth & development. We also have Stefan Charles who played somewhat decently last season. I’d like to see what he can do with a full offseason and training camp. -
Enjoy this Brady Pic. It takes the cake.

Oh the jokes on Brady alright. See what happens when you let your wife dress you. -

What are your draft day plans this year?
Maybe Someday replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My draft day plans are to do everything possible to not to die from anticipation. Going to the Dr with the wife in the morning for the ultrasound that will show the sex of our baby/future Bills fan but not going to find out the results until Saturday. Between that and the draft, I’ll have a lot of waiting and wondering. Saturday night can’t get here fast enough. -
James Hardy in "violent" LA arrest

If only he played with that much emotion!! -
Do I at least get a stock certificate with a picture of EJ on it or something? Would mind donating $10 but would want something to hang on the wall in return. Maybe something that I can get EJ to autograph.
-
Maybe I’m not completely understanding this but if EJ takes the $4.7 mil and would owe 10% of future earning in return, isn’t that like he’s betting on himself to fail? If he turns out to be the stud we all hope for, he could get a contact in excess of $100 mil plus the endorsements that would go along with being a high profile QB. In that case he’d owe $10+ mil. I can understand why a player like Davis or Foster would do it since they are both closer to the end of their playing career and are unlikely to earn another $40 million. But for a guy like EJ, it doesn’t sound like a good investment at all…unless of course he busts as a player. Am I missing something here?

I don't watch much college ball either so I'd like to add another question to your list - what are his ball skills like? Does he go up and get it at its highest point or does he wait for it to come into his body? That’s a lot to give up to move up 4 spots so he better be more than a 1 trick pony. Basically, he better be able to do some of the things that guys like AJ Green, Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitz do like go up over double coverage and bring in a pass in. If he can do that, I’d be ok with this trade; if not then I think the price is too steep.

Well done sir. I laughed out loud at that one.

Imagine the Absurd- Is it Legal?
Maybe Someday replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
+1. The majority of owners (75% sticks in my mind but not sure if that’s the number) have to approve the sale and no way someone like Jerry Jones would go for this since it would most likely affect the value of their franchises. Just like if you sell your house for much less than the market value, it will lower the value of your neighbor’s homes until others sell because values are based on comparable sales. In that situation, you can do whatever you want but imagine if your neighbors had the right to veto your sale. -
I do agree with your overall point but if we drafted Watkins or Evans in the 1st round this year, we would not be drafting SJ13’s replacement; we would (hopefully) be drafting a true #1 receiver - #1 by league standards that is, not just the guy at the top of our depth chart. Personally, I like a guy with the size of Evans over Watkins but don’t really know much about either. Goodwin is our burner and maybe, just maybe the light will come on for Graham someday. I want that big guy that EJ can just throw it up to and he’ll come down with it. My point is, should we trade SJ13, IMO we already have his replacement on the roster in Woods and/or Mike Williams. Overall, I do like SJ13 and hope we don’t trade him this year - wait for Woods or Williams to prove themselves first. I like the fact that he seems to be committed to this team and the city. I don’t like the fact that he just hasn’t been clutch when we needed him to be. I am not sold on his work ethic either. He always struggles with and then fights through injuries, which is admirable, but I think if he took his offseason more seriously, he could avoid a lot of those injuries. Others have said that he doesn’t seem to have chemistry with EJ. Last season I wouldn’t really expect him to since EJ was a rookie who missed a lot of time with injuries. SJ13 is a different type of receiver, not fast but quick and uses deception and that quickness to get open on the best CBs in the game. I saw that the 2 of them worked out together this offseason so hopefully that and a full year together translates to the field this year.

Things I hate: Any player with less than 2 complete seasons being called a bust. Sometimes it takes a guy a few years for it to click. Posters calling for a player to be cut midseason because they “suck” when there is no one better to replace them with. i.e. all the people calling for TJ Graham’s head midway through last season. You don’t make the team better by cutting a player toward the top of the depth chart no matter how bad you think they are. You make the team better by finding better guys to push the players at the bottom of the depth chart off the roster. All other teams in our division. The fact that good chicken wings are roughly 700 miles away from me. Things I love: Andre Reed finally getting into the HOF and the fact that I will be there to see him inducted. The fact that the Bills will be playing in Carolina this year…even if it is just the preseason. The moves that this front office has made and the fact that I finally Billieve that they know what they are doing. Fred Jackson, Eric Wood, Robert Woods, flash88, Aaron Williams, Kiko.
