I liken this to the rumors two years ago about Haslett coming here..."local" boy comes home feel-good type story. More feasible with Gray, since we wouldn't need to be compensated, but probably the same "reason."

The story-line was laid out really well...especially how the emperor came to be....the scheming, etc....trying to avoid too much detail to not spoil it for the "newbies," but it was cool to see it unfold.

Not to say this matters much, but the combined records of the teams Carolina has won against this year is 25-38....and the combined records of the teams Carolina has lost to is 5-13. They have what has turned out to be the luck of playing the NFC North and AFC East this year. Not to say they won't beat the Bills, but considering the way the Bills have been winning at home as of late and the means by which Carolina has acquired their record I wouldn't automatically put it down as a loss...

Oh, and as to the "bend-don't-break" they are 20th in points allowed/game...only two teams have scored less than 20 on them...

They also barely squeaked by the Brooks Bollinger-led Jets, as ugly as it was....

They are #1 in yards/games, but they are #31 in attempts against/game. When your pass defense is suspect teams aren't going to run on you all day... Further, the only top ten runner they've faced (total yards) is Tiki Barber, and he had 15 carries (for 60 yards) against them. Chargers built a reputation based on last year's performance. Last year they got their record pretty much the same way the Bills got theirs: by beating a bunch of non-playoff teams. You do have to give them credit as they were able to beat all the non-playoff teams they faced (unlike the Bills last year), but when it came to facing teams that made the playoffs, they had one victory, and that was against a divisional foe. This year they are looking to repeat that pattern. Of course that means with us being a "non-playoff" team they should beat us. But I have trouble figuring out what all the hoopla is about them sometimes too...

I'm guessing the point in time that there is a Bills player in the opposing team's end zone is the exact time you have to worry about fans diving/falling out of the stands...

The guy is from football outsiders. Give them credit, they are the only ones that do more than sticking their professional finger in the air (and look at the W-L record) to determine power rankings. They actually use stats to "normalize" teams by correcting for the records (and relative stats) of the teams they've played, for example...

But go ahead and just say he was replaced at RT because HE SUCKS and then didn't cut it at guard because HE SUCKS and use your 3rd down %age stats to show that HE SUCKS.... Oh, and last I checked the Bills' D pretty well shut LJ down on the carries he did have in the second half...his YPC in the 2nd half was boosted by his 15-or-so yard run on 3rd and 97 (or so, I don't know how to read stats, so it's just an approximation)...
