  1. Don't forget too that their division features teams that have pretty much been 3 of the bottom 1/3 of teams when it comes to defense over that tenure...
  2. My head hurts just reading some of the "professional insights" tendered here...."Mad Mike?!" So when they introduce Martz and Ditka at the press conference, will Martz be the one wearing the wedding dress?
  3. Well, if Bruschi can register 12 "hits" on every play, why is that such a stretch...?
  4. MMMkkay, so you want "Mad Mike" Martz?! The guy who let one of the best backs in the league pretty much sit the pine while he played air ball with the Pats in the Super Bowl? That "Mad Mike" Martz?! The guy who has made the playoffs recently not because his team has the most wins but the fewest losses in a god-awful division?! THAT "Mad Mike" Martz?! I just don't know how to respond...
  5. Let alone the wag-e-Dawgg-Rays....
  6. No, he should have been the team enforcer.
  7. We're all waiting for DeeRay to come in here and tell us what Off-Topic thoughts we've been having that we're too afraid to share.
  8. Oh, and sometimes what might seem like "colicky" could be a newborn milk allergy, especially if the kid appears to be dealing with "gas pains." This is different than a regular "lactose intolerance" because it's an allergy to the milk proteins, which get passed through breast milk. Pretty easy to figure out if you know to look for it...just keep the mother away from dairy products for 24-36 (or use a milk-free formula, if you're going that route). Both my daughters dealt with it, and they grew out of it by the time they were a year old. It was tough figuring with the first one, but once we figured it out, things got much better.....
  9. You're right, I'm quaking in my boots about it. You're funny, because you speak up loudly now that you speak for what seems like the majority view on this board. I'm the one of few here trying to find positives to come out of the season (or frick, just positives from week to week) with rather than just hating on 90% of the employees of OBD and I'm the one who is "afraid?" Anyway, thanks for speaking up on my behalf. I take it you'll be done repeating this drivel once you've said it once for every member of the board? Does that include those who are no longer welcome? After all, they obviously need an advocate...Are you saying this one is for me? So are you going in alphabetical order or by member number? Just wondering how close you are to done....
  10. What about this week? We haven't had a "complete" (with rockpile) gathering for an away game yet, and look how they have turned out....?
  11. But the point is "Who hired TD?" Who hired all the other schmoes to act as GM of the Bills over the years? Who fired the one GM in the history of the Bills who made the Bills a successful franchise for personal and not professional reasons? Who will be hiring the next schmoe? TD is just maintaining the sub-.500 performance level of the Bills that RW has built over his 45 years...what makes you think, after all the GM's we've been through with so few successes, that the old blind squirrel will find a nut with the next one?
  12. ...and so this is different than your previous 1600 posts how? That you've actually started a new topic to do so? That you've apologized (I'm guessing for saying the same thing in yet another way for the umpteenth time) for it up front?
  13. See, I read the "don't want to wait until 2011" comment to mean a quite different assessment of the situation. To me the comment meant that he didn't want to gut the team all over again with a new regime because it would take too long to rebuild under that new regime. And as far as the silence goes, when has Ralph ever freely talked about post-season changes, especially when Ralph sees us as "still in the playoff picture?" Ummm, Ralph 2 years ago was pissed off...remember his comments after the Jets loss? I linked to them in the other Ralphie thread...For some reason, apparently he didn't see the Carolina performance as heartless and gutless like he saw the Jets game in 2003...I guess he must have gone blind in the last two years...
  14. And under TD, 6 of 8 years in the playoffs, including a Super Bowl visit....your point? I know what they did (and if not, anyone can go to pro-football-reference.com and look it up) I just don't remember the point at which the entire TD roster was overturned to make that playoff run happen....
  15. If the Bills are garbage without Sam how is it that YPC and defensive offside penalties are less in the games he didn't play? Part of our problem stopping the run is him over-pursuing the play, and teams are pretty well depending on it. He's a loose cannon. If they "built a scheme around Sam" it would be back to the Walt Corey "tackle the guy with the ball" strategy....
  16. Ummm, well he has managed to regionalize the franchise for one thing. Let me ask you this: how do you explain season ticket numbers that rival the Super Bowl era in number, despite the fact that we are in the "longest playoff drought in team history! "? Are there more fans in Buffalo all of a sudden? Do Buffalonians have more disposable income? Was there some sort of independent effort by the "fans" to try to get more people to buy season tickets?
  17. Welcome to the most frustrating, and at the same time rewarding, time of your life. I'd suggest the "What to expect..." series (they have a "...the First Year" and a "...the Toddler Years") to help you understand how your baby should be developing, and, um, what to expect. Congrats. If you think time flew before now, it just kicked into high gear...
  18. I'd say if you want to be "around it all," stay on St. Thomas (that's the island you'll fly into). If you want to get away, stay on St. John. If you really want to get away, stay at Estates Concordia on St. John. Be sure to rent a car. Cheapest I'm guessing is late Summer months (also hurricane season! ). That would be it in a nutshell...
  19. How soon they forget... (search on "Ralph Wilson")
  20. Gee, do you mean that Bills coaches do not have a monopoly on bad play calls? Do you mean that even veteran, winning coaches like Cowher out-trick themselves with trick plays every so often? Whoda thunk?
  21. Sorry, you're in the Hall-of-Fame voting period. You won't hear squat from Ralph until he's officially in/out.
  22. But didn't you hear that Mike Williams was a terrible move, and didn't you notice that TD keeps hiring ex-Steelers?! Oops, sorry, I was supposed to say this in a separate thread... And what's this about rational decisions? Don't you know the only way to win is to erase everything that TD has done, which means cutting the entire roster (bad players because they suck, good players because they deserve to be on a winning team) and starting from scratch? Except Moulds, I guess....he was the only one here when TD got here...so he's not part of the problem...
  23. Donahoe was forced to resign in a power struggle after the 1999/2000 season, after the Steelers posted a 6-10 mark and missed the playoffs for the second year in a row. Somehow I guess Cowher managed to completely rebuild a new team the next season, and in 2001, after promoting their TE coach at the time to OC they were suddenly contenders again. I don't know the specifics but I imagine since TD is so bad at running teams that the Steelers never saw any success under him that there might have been 3-5 players left on the Steelers in 2001/2002 that were around when Donahoe was there...and it was the complete overhaul of the roster that returned the Steelers to past glory....
  24. What's funny is that these are the same people who were screaming we'd be blasted for 500 yards rushing 700 yards receiving and 654 points because our defense sucks so bad and the Panthers are the "best team in the NFC." Now they complain about the "heartless," "gutless" performance of the D when, in fact they do lose, but in a game that was a lot closer than any of them would have hazarded to guess. And again, the TD was on Posey. He was assigned the TE, but got deked out by the fake end-around. Wire was assigned outside (that's the direction he was headed), and came in when Posey missed the chuck. Too late. Wire's done a lot of things wrong, but this one's on Posey. Actually, you can put it on Crowell for getting the face mask penalty that gave them the extra tries... Fug this place.
  25. Coy can be a real asset in run support, and yes not enough to make up for his deficiencies in pass support, but if you're referring to the TD the receiver was Posey's responsibility....
