  1. Yeah, and like I said during that time we played the NFC East twice. 1-0 against the Cowboys, 1-0 against the 49er's, 1-1 against the Redskins (loss was a meaningless last game of season loss), 2-0 against the Giants. It was just when it counted that we lost...
  2. Did they announce anything about Russ Brandon?
  3. Did they announce anything about Overdorf?
  4. Ummm, yeah they did, except when it counted. We killed the NFC teams in the regular season...2 regular-season losses to the NFC over the 4 Super Bowl years (including the NFC East, which of course produced all of our Super Bowl opponents, twice), and I know one was because we were resting our starters, and suspect the 2nd, but my memory's too bad.
  5. Cool, nice to know he's finally on speaking terms with his current staff. Glad he didn't wait until the season started.
  6. My understanding of what I've heard talking to someone in Maryland about similar systems there (and those there can corroborate), is that catching the plate isn't enough, that the picture has to show the driver's face so that you can't claim it wasn't you who was running the red light. This, of course, leads to people putting newspapers, briefcases, etc, in front of their faces while running a red light. Yeah, tons safer. And I believe, like any other ticket, you can plead not guilty, etc... Another anecdote, I had a friend who had to fight against a similar system in New York City. They sent him a violation with a picture of "his plate" for proof, except he's never been to NYC in any of his vehicles (IIRC it was an OCR problem...).
  7. Neither does it mean that they don't....
  8. The whole situation pretty much underscores the underlying point though: people don't like the Jauron decision, so they will use every friggin' cliche he has said against him. His answers in pressers have been the "perfect," most milquetoast cliched answers to give, but every one of those answers is "wrong" because of the exception arguments against the cliches. The bottom line is that he was not saying that you run the ball every play into a stacked up box of 9 men, but that if you establish that you can run the ball, resulting in the opposing defenses putting 9 in the box, then it gives you room to throw. Teams will not stack up against the run if you have no established ground game, you need to make them respect your running capabilities. But no, the masses hear "run first" and figure he'll run the ball even if the defense puts all 11 guys "in the box" when you're lined up with 4 wide-outs... Maybe I cut my "vacation" too short...
  9. But are you saying that Mike Williams is automatically better than Sean Locklear, because Mike was a first-rounder? And what about the Patriots? The thing about the Steelers you will also find, beyond the draft level of the players, is some amount of "consistency." The "newest" of the players on the line has been starting that position for the Steelers for 2 years. Right to left, years starting for the Steelers in the position they are currently playing: 2,3,5,8,6. The left side of the line has been playing together for 5 years, and it's clear that changes are "staggared." If you look at some of the other highly successful lines in the NFL (Denver comes immediately to mind) you will find that same formula, with rare exception. San Diego's offense did pretty well last year even though they completely blew up their line. That is what has frustrated me about the Bills: constant tinkering. At this point I would not scream too loudly if they decided to "blow up the line," but I'm not going to expect great things out of the chute even if they end up with "Day 1 players" starting every position...
  10. So explain the Patriots....heck even the Seahawks have 2 UDFA's on their line...
  11. Bull. Mularkey had a likeable personality when he came here. The press will spin things any way they want. If the coach uses "personality" and the press decides they don't like him, he's "being flippant about losses, like he doesn't care." If he's all ticked off and pounding on the podium he's "out of control, a madman who has lost his grip." If you're calm, deliberate, you're an "emotionless statue with no passion." There is no winning in the press conferences when you are losing, especially if the press decides up front that they don't like you (which most of the press in Buffalo is going to decide on any one stupid enough to come to our town and coach our loser Bills...[their attitude, not mine]). Just like here it's so much easier to push doom and gloom when the coach gets here, as it stands as a cornerstone if the team fails, and easily swept under the rug if the team doesn't. Jauron is right, winning is the only cure for criticism....
  12. Yeah, I hear there are some fearsome e-bullies e-lurking out there...looking to e-steal your e-lunch money....
  13. What? no love for the 70's Vikings?
  14. Any word on what smartyjoneswinsthetriplecrown.com sold for?
  15. I kinda miss the days of "quoting quotes" ad infinitum...three screenfuls of a variety of quotes from people with "I agree" at the bottom...
  16. Box Office: $80+M US, $110M World-wide.
  17. What if you moved to Florida and the same thing happened to him for wearing Bills gear...?
  18. They made you sit on the floor while taking your tests in math class, didn't they?
  19. Tickets were a gift. 10 in the group, 9 were bought together, I think the 10th bought at the window. We were in 106, he was in the 300's, behind the same-side goal...Roads weren't all that bad coming in from the East..
  20. Lighten up, Bubba. This is a message board, not real life...heck, that's a little rough way to deal with someone pushing your buttons in real life...
  21. How do you explain the attendance growing the longer we go without playoffs? Why are season ticket sales higher than they were at the end of the previous GM's tenure?
  22. They also forgot how to pass...Oh, well, a night off while they travel to Colorado...
  23. Drink two when whatever it is that he's "gotta tell you" is wrong...
  24. Happy Birthday Nick!
  25. I think announced was something like 18007. Attendance looked prety close to that to me.
