  1. I like to think of myself as a pretty tough guy, but I must admit that I had tears in my eyes when he opened the show . . . all of these memories from when I was a kid and my parents started to flow up within me . . . . It was pretty emotional. I fully expect to be a basket case when Paul and his band are playing those Beatles songs on July 5 and I am standing next to my 14 year old and 9 year old. My kids probably are going to wonder what is up with Dad . . . .
  2. Last week, I bought four tickets for my wife, two kids (14 and 9), and me to see McCartney down here in Miami on July 5. There was an American Express presale. I have seen him twice (I am a huge Beatles fan) and thought it would be great for my kids to see him. This may be their last opportunity. For those of you who have not seen McCartney, he and his band are great. They put on a great show. As a Beatles fan, his shows are especially meaningful. I thoroughly recommend going if any of you have any interest.

  4. The criticism of Adriana Lima (of all people) in this thread has shown me that I still need to take a break from this place. I really hope some of you guys are joking. Let's just say that when I see the woman in the pictures above, I have an entirely different reaction . . . .
  5. After participating on this board for many, many years, I decided that I needed to take a break from participating earlier this month. I have been around now and again to check out what people had to say about various subjects (both football and sous vide). Yet, I decided that there really is no need for me to actively participate and express my opinions (at least) for the time being. I have different views from others and it did not seem productive for me to express my views - especially in light of certain comments etc. I found out that, it is one thing to get into a discussion about a subject, but it is another to be told that I was hijacking threads or that I needed to let it go merely because I would dare express a different view. Some seemed to be offended that someone would dare express any opinion that is contrary to theirs or the board's collective "narrative." This thread and some of the others are good examples of threads where I best stay out of the circle while some of you guys . . . . It has been amusing to watch each of the usual suspects take their turns in threads such as these. (Curiously, I noticed that jmc12290 stopped posting the day Rex was fired . . . interesting). As I mentioned some time ago, I was a Bills fan (and season ticket holder) for decades preceding Rex and will be forever. I just have a different opinion from those that are the "loudest" here and in sports radio etc. In the end, the earth continues to circle the sun, and I have been much more productive . . . . I will be back but, for now, it just does not make sense for me to be as active here for a variety of reasons. Go Bills!
  6. I was responding to your post. I am still at the office. I am going to drive home now and let you guys carry on without any dissenting opinion (I know how much some of you hate that) and get the last word. My last two words for now will be: Myopia and irony. Good night.
  7. Again, I have a different view and believe the opposite. How dare I post a different view. The Horror!
  8. You guys love to sit around in a circle j--k and trash Rex. It is amusing how much it upsets some of you guys that someone would dare have a different opinion. Some people might call that myopia.
  9. Believe what you guys want to believe. Whatever.
  10. The Pegulas outperformed the experts - they hired the most successful Bills HC in the past 17 years. Well done. It is going to be interesting to see whether you guys give McDermott some slack if the Bills suffer the depth of injuries and suspensions as we did these past two years. As for this tidbit, it makes little sense. Rex loved being a HC. Those guys love being around the coaches and players. If you do not like him, fine, whatever. It does not pass the smell test that he did not spend a lot of time at the facility. My understanding is that he loved doing what he was doing (until of course the drip, drip, drip of anti Rex leaks). This leak is kind of like the one about Rex supposedly telling the players that they were out of the playoffs when anyone with ears heard him say otherwise at press conferences. It is funny that someone in the building is still so paranoid about Rex that he is still leaking to the media. We can guess who this guy is. Anyway, I will just incorporate my prior posts here and let you guys carry on.
  11. I am going to let you guys have at it. You seem to be enjoying yourselves. I will stand by what I posted up thread.
  12. Useless information: He goes by "Rico" - I like it. I hope he is as successful as Buffalo's last great Rico (Rick Martin of course).
  13. He could get it back easily . . . if he chose to sell to someone who wants to move the team to London or Toronto . . . . I hope it is a good investment for the Pegulas. Nevertheless, they invested $1.4 B to make sure that the team stays in Buffalo.
  14. I am going to choose to be hopeful with this guy (especially after the Olson rumors). We need to see how it plays out. To a large extent, coaches are only as good as the players they have. It would be a lot easier to be an OC with Tom Brady or Peyton in his prime.
  15. That would be good. I guess a positive spin is that he and Kubiak worked well together and developed a successful offensive philosophy. He should be able to engineer the offense.
  16. Is that correct? Please do not tell me that Dennison was the Broncos offensive coordinator in the same sense that Doug Marrone was the OC of the Saints.
  17. You are welcome.
  18. Indeed. It just goes to show you that coaches can only play the cards that are dealt.
  19. Now that Whaley is in charge, I fully expect a Super Bowl run this coming season.
  20. I hope Brock sends him a Christmas card every year. Dorsey would be good. He is a very smart guy and was a successful college QB in large measure because of his intellect as opposed to his physical tools.
  21. I wonder if that was part of the reason Kubiak retired. He worked his ass off and spent a lot of time away from the family etc.
  22. What is going to happen with Ken Dorsey? What did they interview him for yesterday?
  23. I tried to do that here, but it did not work.
  24. As you know, I disagree with you on Rex. Yet again, however, I cannot hold your incorrect Rex opinion against you. I also love Giroud . . . and believe me . . . I defend him probably even more so than Rex. I chose to stop watching games with the Miami Arsenal supporters club because of (how shall we say) a disagreement that I had with some of the guys (including the president). When Giroud gets his century, I think that the Giroud haters are going to spontaneously combust like the Spinal Tap drummers. I have never understood the Giroud hate. He loves the club. He works hard. He produces. He is not a diva (as one other guy I am thinking of). In fact, Giroud (and Kolscieny) worked hard to rise from the depths of the French leagues to get where they are today. Indeed, Sal C has NEVER reported that Giroud has left London Colney early . . . . COYG
