I am loyal . . . to a fault. I am flying up to see UM in the ACC Championship game in Charlotte this weekend. One of the things that I made sure of is that the people with whom I am traveling are not going to give me grief about going to see Arsenal play Man U at one of the local Arsenal Pubs. Great game yesterday. It did look cold though. There was some brilliant moments of Wenger ball. I am convinced that we will definitely finish in the top four. I am not as sure about what to do about Alexis and Ozil though. If they play like they did against City, I would sell and try to get Draxler (always rumored to be going to Arsenal) and someone else (am I allowed to dream about Griezmann). If they play like they did against Spurs, it is a more difficult question. I just would hate to lose them both for nothing . . . especially if their hearts are not into it.

A guy who was hired to comment on the NFL is commenting on the NFL . . . and one of the most universally panned decisions (benching TT in favor of Peterman and the historical precedent) around the country. Hmmm. I wonder what the other players were saying in the locker room about how the team thought about them and how they were going to approach that game given that we were not playing our best QB. I think the result of that game answers the question.

Tre' White Doesn't Care About What Brady Has Accomplished
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh boy. I suspect he is going to care what Brady can do when he is playing the game. For the kid's sake, I hope he has enough self confidence and amnesia to move forward because (as others have mentioned) both Belichick and Brady are vindictive and love to embarrass teams, pick on guys, and run up the score. There is no reason to poke the tiger. If the kids plays well and the Bills win, hats off to both. Nevertheless, I suspect that this game is not going to be pretty regardless of what White says or does not say. -
Still a lot of hating on McDermott after a win...
Peter replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Firing a guy in less than two years, in my judgment, is the definition of being "quick fired" - especially if that guy had the best winning percentage for a Bills coach in 17 years despite injuries and leaks designed to undermine him moments before huge games. Just my two cents. -

Yesterday was a good win on the road after a three game free fall. It turns out that our early success was when we had the 10th easiest schedule in the league. We will see just how impressive yesterday's win was (or was not) depending on how KC finishes. It appears that they are in a free fall. I think we will have better perspective on McCoach after these two Patriot games coming up. We shall see. -
The same coaching staff that thought Peterman was ready to start and a better option than TT were the ones that pushed Reggie Ragland down the depth chart. Reggie sure looked quick to me as he ran through our offensive line twice to tackle one of the best running backs in the league for a loss. You are correct. This is one area where I have direct information. Wade loves Buffalo.

Gameday thread - Bills and Chiefs 2nd half
Peter replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We will never know. You are correct. I cannot say we would have won. Who knows. We do know 100% however that we could not overcome the five picks and we would have had a better chance of winning if TT had started. -

Oh, ok. So the five picks in the first half had no effect on the game. Gotcha. -

It is all relative. McCoach better hope that the Bills don't fall one game short of a playoff spot. -

I don't view him as a third stringer. I also think TT is clearly a better QB than NP right now. I also think that Dareus clearly could help this defense and is worth more than a 6th round pick if you are going to consider trading him at all. These are just a few of the decisions with which I have disagreed. -

He was demoted by the same coaching staff that thought it was best to sit TT in favor of a rookie who obviously was not ready to play at all. -

. . . and he never should have been down to the third string defense. Reggie has not looked slow at all shooting through those gaps. -

Trading Dareus was stupid too - especially for a 6th round pick. -

Very well said gentlemen. Very well said. This was just another example of McBeane thinking that they are smarter than everyone else. -

It is pretty simple that we could have used a guy who can tackle opposing running backs these past few weeks - no matter what the scheme. The guy deserved at least one roster spot on the Bills. -
Rex Ryan Rips McDermott on NFL Countdown
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I keep on reading and hearing that he has all the players with his DNA on the roster. I write this just a few moments after a guy McBeane discarded wipes out our star running back for the second time this game. -

After watching Reggie Ragland play today, how is it possible that there was not even one spot on the Buffalo Bills roster for him???? -

It would be interesting to see a fight between Rex and McCoach. If it were a bar or street fight, I fully expect that the players would have Rex's back and hammer McCoach. -

The past three weeks may have been the worst consecutive three weeks that I can recall watching our team (and defense). Just awful and embarrassing. -

Including Marrone. You may want to check their records again. Rex had the best winning percentage since Wade. Rex's winning percentage was .484 for the Bills. Marrone's winning percentage with the Bills was .469. -

Rex is correct. The decision was woeful. Bad for the team. Bad for Peterman. Bad for how the players view McCoach. McCoach had no choice but to reverse himself to try to save himself. As for Rex, he had the best record of any Buffalo Bills coach in years even though the Bills had many injuries and someone behind the scenes was trying to undermine his position with the team by, for example, leaking to the media just before the Pittsburgh game. The guy completely embraced the Buffalo community and did not deserve to be fired in less than two years. In fact, it makes no sense to fire a coach in less than two years . . . especially after the team had spent the previous year pushing the importance of continuity. But hey, that is just me. I know the Rex haters come out every time there is a thread like this. -
I was afraid that the Canes could lose this game against Pitt. During the game, Mark Richt (who I typically think is a great coach) pulled Rosier for a series. I joked to a friend that McCoach must have made that decision - it was that dumb. The back up could not complete a pass and we wasted a key possession.
-
I do. It is completely unfair in any event to fire a coach after less than two seasons. You really need to give a guy at least three to five seasons. Just my two cents.
-
I am guessing that those games are the only ones that we will be favored to win. It is going to be a long off season. It is going to be interesting to see how many people renew their season tickets. I probably will renew, but it is getting tougher and tougher to justify it as an out-of-town season ticket holder living in Miami. This is especially so given that this year was the worst year that I have had re-selling tickets to games that I could not go to - I could not even sell the tickets to the home opener at face value and my tickets are on the 45 yard line in the lower bowl. Right then, I knew that a lot of people did not have faith in the McBeane era.

That might make a little bit of sense if the new brain trust had agreed to re-sign Zach Brown. In the meantime, we cannot stop the run. How embarrassing was it that the Saints ran it against us 20+ times in a row. Not good.
