For what it is worth, he would have been a top ten pick if he had come out last year. He got hurt and is now fully recovered. I would not be disappointed with either Mangold or Winston. I just hope that they do NOT give up our first round pick next year for any pick so late in this year's draft.

I like Whitehurst in the fourth or fifth round, but I have my doubts that he would be there then. I think the guy has a lot of potential and may be worth developing.

That is the question. I really do not know the answer to that. Yet, when I saw him play in person in the Orange Bowl against the Sooners, his arm was plenty strong enough in a big time game. To follow up on your other post, Brady is not known for having the strongest arm, but he does well there, Buffalo, and pretty much everywhere else. To me, another consideration would be whether the Bills think that he would want to play in Buffalo or whether he has his heart set on playing in a "Big Market."

That probably would be what it would come down to. If we could get good value for trading down, we would. If not, I could see the Bills taking him. Every time I have seen him play, he has been a leader, has complete command of the offense, and gets the ball where it should go.

For some reason, those guys at PFT have it in for both Marv and Ralph. I enjoy reading PFT most of the time except lately when they have gone out of their way to diss the Bills, Marv, and Ralph.

For what it is worth, Pro Football Talk seems to think that Leinart is going to fall a la Rodgers. Leinart bracing for slide I personally do not believe this. Yet, if Leinart were to fall to 8, what would you do if you were the Bills' GM?

The guys on TSN went nuts last night regarding the hit on Vanek. They essentially said that there is no place in hockey for that, it was bush league, and that if he had not learned his lesson yet (after being suspended for the earlier hit) the NHL needs to teach him a new lesson. I just hope that the refs continue to call the game the way they are susposed to. If they do that, I will be very happy.

Would we be drafting Bunkley to play QB, cure cancer, re-design the space shuttle . . . ? If not, I am not particularly concerned whether he got a 15 or a 31. If we draft him, his job is going to be to shut down any player going through his gap and to get after the QB. I think the guy can handle that. I really have no vested interest in whether we take him or someone else. I just want the Bills to take the best player available whenever we pick (whether that is at 8 or later).

Of course, that is no longer true given the Giants' unis today. The fact of the matter is those unis looked great. There was no real reason to change to the present ones for aesthetic reasons. I miss them just like I miss the Sabres unis that predate the present ones.

In my view, they should take the best player available (provided there is a meaningful difference) whether the guy is on the offensive or defensive side of the ball. Otherwise, trade down. There is no reason to reach.

For what it is worth, I think that the present uniforms are terrible (especially the home ones). The sooner they get rid of them, the better. The Bills should go back to our super bowl unis and use the throwback unis for two games. Everytime I see videos of our unis during the super bowl years and that era, I am reminded about how great they were. They were definitely among the best in the league. Now they are among the worst. For those of you who think they looked just like the Giants, that argument is now completely moot.

I am starting to feel better and better about Jauron. I was initially disappointed. Right now, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see how it goes.

I was playing blackjack in the Bahamas some years ago. I was on a hot streak. This really hot chick came over to me flashing her cleavage and started to chat me up. At the same time, the cocktail waitress made sure to keep the drinks coming. Needless to say, my hot streak ended. I did have fun though.
