  1. I would take Mario in his prime over any other hockey player in his prime -- including Gretzky.
  2. Thanks for posting. I heard about this, but missed it live.
  3. I predicted that all of the guys who trashed Peters would post these types of responses when people pointed out that he was playing well for the Eagles.
  4. The Green Mile . . . . I feel sorry for both him and our RBs.
  5. Wow. I was in a meeting all afternoon and never would have expected to read that this had happened. This makes no sense whatsoever. At the very least, they should have moved him back to RT if they thought that they could do better at LT (or even kept him as a back up). We got a young QB. We signed TO. We have good to very good skill position players. The problem is that we have an offensive line with the biggest QUESTION MARK that I can imagine. These young guys may end up being very good, but it is more likely than not that we are going to have a lot of growing pains. It is not as if we are adding one rookie or new player to the line. We have three rookies and no returning player from last year. This is a very, very odd move.
  6. None of the starters (except for the o-line) are starting. It is not just Edwards that is not starting.
  7. As a Greek and a former player (HS), I resent that.
  8. I read that earlier and found it astonishing. I wonder what Raheem Morris is going to say about this later. Jagodzinski has had a very interesting year.
  9. I like your optimism. I am going with 9-7 right now. I also am a glass is half full kind of guy. I hope you are correct on your prediction.
  10. I have the sports pack and should get it. Unfortunately, in the past, they have blacked out preseason games on those channels. There does not appear to be any reason for this -- especially if you pay for the sports pack and Sunday Ticket. I have set my DVR to record just in case.
  11. I agree. The Bengals are kind of ruthless in that regard -- especially compared to the way the Chiefs did it last year. Do you remember the episode from a week or two ago when they woke the guy up at 5:30 in the morning to tell him that he was cut and that he needed to be out front about two hours later for the car to take him to the airport. With the Chiefs, it usually was a position coach who gave the bad news in that coach's office. The coach also was much nicer about the way that he handled it (especially compared to the hatchet man that the Bengals use). For some reason, I am reminded of an episode of Cheers where norm was the designated guy to tell employees of his company that they had been let go.
  12. I might be in the minority on this board, but I like Chad. I think that he has a great personality and loves playing the game. I thought that it was kind of cool when they showed him going to the club, but he did not drink, and when he went to buy earings at some strip mall place and spent $15. He was making a point that just because you have a lot of money, you do not have to waste it. It is too bad more athletes do not realize this. I would take him on the Bills anytime. In a way, he is like TO. They both have personality (sometime oversized personality), but never get in trouble with the law.
  13. You have season tickets for Lambeau Field. Wow.
  14. I watched the INT again last night. Lee Evans waited on the ball while the DB attacked the ball.
  15. Good for Trent. Sullivan knows very little about football.
  16. And you know better why? How do you explain the Bills history with signing their picks?
  17. Why not? How is it that there are so many here who are quick to blame the FO when the Bills have a solid history of signing their picks.
  18. I will watch again tonight. I did play it back several times yesterday and saw it differently. I guess a question I have is who attacked the ball more - Lee Evans or the DB who initially was behind Evans?
  19. I think that I read somewhere (cannot remember where) that the Bills had that package on the table for more than a week prior to Maybin agreeing to it.
  20. I am too lazy to read this entire thread, but here are my two cents: Lee is a good WR, but if an opposing team wants to take him out of the game, that can and has been done. That is the difference between him and the elite receivers in the game. In watching the replay of the first half, I paid particular attention to the INT. Two comments. First, how was that not pass interference (especially given the call that the officials made against Ellison later). Second, Lee has to do a better job attacking the ball. The DB (who was behind Lee) attacked the ball whereas Evans appeared to wait on it (at least more so that the DB). The DBs are too good in this league to not attack the ball. Just my two cents.
  21. Another factor to look at is the quality of the nose tackles that we faced last year playing for the teams that run the 3-4. That also explains a lot about how poorly we did (regardless of the scheme that those defenses employed). The three in our division are all excellent. We had a horrendous time against them.
  22. You are correct. The Dutch came up with that idea.
  23. Now that his rookie likely is not going to meet anyone's expectations of the 11th pick in the draft, the Bills should insist that any contract be for 6 years rather than the 5 years that the rookies typically want. I remember this issue being a hiccup with Whitner. The Bills finally caved. In this case, if there ever is a deal, it should be for 6 years.
