  1. Im afraid that your calculations are slightly off my friend. The Bills are about $25 million under the cap but the 16 free agents have already been factored into that so unfortunately you dont get another $5 million from that. Now assuming the Bills follow your advice (which im not agreeing with or disagreeing with) the cap will take a hit next year of about $8 million to keep Stevie Johnson. The way it looks it will cost the Bills about $5 million plus a year to sign Chandler. The Demetrius Bell situation is a bit harder to predict and will depend alot on how aggressive other teams are. Considering the lack of quality offensive tackles that hit free agency this year.. he will likely get offered alot. For the sake of arguement lets put the number at about $5 million. (I think it will be higher but you might think it will be lower so i think 5 is fair. Finally, Reggie Corner made over $1.3 million last season. It was the final year of his rookie contract. Even if you get him at the same price (which you wont) by the time you add it all up you are looking at almost $20 million. If you sign all three of the restricted free agents at a hometown discount you will still be almost at your limit. Now take into consideration that all the numbers i threw out there were on the conservative side in order to give you an advantage. Also remember that they have to sign their draft picks and fill up all any open roster spots left by departing free agents... you see where im going with this right? You brought up a good point about cutting players to give yourself more cap space and the Bills certainly have a few that make sense to cut. But only then would you have enough to go get even one free agent you named and to be honest... you would have to cut an awful lot to sign almost any big named free agent. Do you still want to resign all of the four Bills players?
  2. Mario Manningham maybe... but they definitely cant afford Mario Williams.
  3. If the Bills resign him then yes, i think having Pete come in will benefit Chandler. So will another year of working with Bob Bicknell. But the question isnt whether he will improve... its how much will he improve and whether or not it will be cost effective to resign him at the money (its looking like) he will demand on the open market.
  4. Interesting questions. Cant wait to see what the Bills do this offseason. In my opinion..
  5. He and Carr are definitely the two top coners on the market. They will both cash in huge.
  6. Noone is arguing about any of that. But the question is what it will cost and what he is worth. Put it this way.. exactly how much would you pay him a year?
  7. Enjoyed the post and i like the names you threw out. Wouldnt mind seeing a couple of those guys in a Bills uniform next season. I'm wary of resigning Chandler because we will have to probably pay him way more than he is worth. San Diego has the inside track on Gaither, especially since it looks like they might release Marcus McNeill.
  8. He's not worth the money. Pass.
  9. They'll get on fine as long as Manning keeps throwing the ball to Omar.
  10. Where do i start?? "I agree Fred is a better all around RB when it comes to things like experience and pass blocking but the guy is 31 and about 7 years older than Spiller." - Who cares if he is better? He is older! "CJ had almost exactly the same yards per carry as Fred" - Amost! "Had a respectable yards per catch close to Freddie" -Not equal but pretty gosh darn CLOSE i tell you! "and for the big one....HE SCORED MORE TDS PER TOUCH THAN FREDDIE!!" -the clincher!! Fred Jackson = starter Cj Spiller= a hell of a player and one of the best backups in the NFL
  11. I guarantee you that this guy did not come out on the plus side once all his bets were tallied. Who the hell would drop a grand on something like that. Serious issues.
  12. I agree with you. Fred Jackson needs to be taken care of and the sooner they get it done the better. The talk of trading him for a draft pick is just ludacris. But i do think that (as others have mentioned) there are other priorities at the moment which should be addressed first.
  13. If we are going to dream let's dream big. Can you edit that to "Buffalo is going to WIN the Super Bowl"? Thx
  14. Yeah but they weren't ELITE coordinators.
  15. I give Micheal Irvin credit for going OFF on NFL Gameday about the politics that go on in the selection process. While the other guys looked a bit uncomfortable and even tried to lighten the mood by laughing - Irvin said "We gotta stop this maddness... and these guys played with courage! They've taken courage out of the National Football League! Tim Brown, Chris Carter, Andre Reed - they played with courage!" He also talked about how Charles Haley wasn't in and made the valid point that if any QB had five Super Bowl rings they would be in the HoF right away. They also touched on how there is a maximum of seven inductees allowed per year yet at times like this year they only let in six. (vote percentages) It does seem like a waste... and before anyone argues that rule is to prevent only the best making it in- keep in mind the politics involved. As Irvin points out; if one guy sees the player he wants in not getting the votes he may not vote for someone else's "guy" out of spite more than anything else. Its deplorable but human nature. I read everyone's comments and i see people slamming other deserving inductees because they are angry Reed or someone else wasn't chosen. This is the stuff im sure happens to keep players like Andre out. I just think the whole thing is sad.
  16. All they care about is winning. Any little thing no matter how unlikely to give them the slightest of advantage- and they are all over it. They dont give a damn about the players or the trainers or the fans or even the coaches. They dont give anything a second thought except what will make them better for today. Those heartless, classless, dispicable winners. No i do not like the Patriots. I hate them. But i also respect and envy them. They are all about winning and try to never let anything get in their way. Could i cut that kid? No way.. the guilt would eat me alive. But if i were the owner of the Bills and i was paying someone and average of 7 million a year to coach my team i;d make damn sure he was able to do whatever he had to do to win.
  17. That's a might big risk giving up three number ones. I understand the need for an elite QB but teams also have to make sure they don't trade away their future for that one guy. I'd rather emulate new englands strategy of stockpiling picks and selecting players they feel are valuable at that spot. Regardless however on the two of us disagreeing on the proper strategy.. I think we can both agree its highly unlikely the bills move up to take RG3.
  18. I prefer to see the Bills keep their picks if they can unless a unique situation presents itself. Maybe even try to get more. The more picks they make the better chance they have on hitting a quality player. Its really a numbers game these days when it comes to drafting imo.
  19. Yeah I've heard Blitzer mention he was from Buffalo a few times actually and always wondered if he was a Bills fan. On a dside note - Piers Morgan? Really brother? What a creeper that guy is.
  20. I'd start with our best offensive player and work from there. He's earned it.
