  1. With due respect i think your arguement is flawed there my friend, haha. But i do agree with the saying "Defenses Win Championships"
  2. Ouch. Please do not ever bring that up again. I remember sitting in front of the tv wincing in pain over that pick. I wanted Ngata in a Bills hat sooo bad. Although my pain subsided suddenly when they traded back into the 1st round. "Nick Mangold!" "Nick Mangold!" i chanted. "John McCargo," they announced. I'm sure many out there have similiar stories about similar drafts and I laugh now at how bitter i still am about that particular draft.. but it helps we now have Wood and Williams.
  3. It'll cost the Bills $9.5 million range to tag him next year.
  4. I couldnt agree more. Whenever the Bills dont convert on third down in the redzone the first thing that pops into my mind is that we have to settle for 3 points. With Lindell nobody really ssits there nervously worrying about whether or not we will be able to put up points. Its almost assumed because Lindell is so solid. Plus now with the new kickoff spot his weakness has been negated. All in all, a half million pay increase per year (on average on a multi year contract) isnt unreasonable imo.
  5. Those numbers make sense to me. Lindell goes out there and does his job every year and is usually clutch. It would be a shame to underestimate his value because once he is gone it may be hard to get someone in here with the same level of success.
  6. I dont think they will cut McGee because while he makes 6 mil next year they would only save 2 mil by cutting him. The other 4 million is dead money. Maybe if they were against the wall and over the cap they might do it but it doesnt make sense in this case. Another guy in the same boat is Thigpen, he makes 3 million next year (yeah, i know) but the thing is, if you cut him you only save a mil. So you arent going to go out and find a better backup for a mil right? Well, maybe. But probably not. Especially since they seemed to overpay to get him in here to begin with.
  7. It doesnt matter if Evans got both feet down because he didnt maintain possession. He did catch it but didnt make a complete football move after doing so therefore how can anyone say it should have been a score? I might be missing something here... if so maybe someone can clarify for me. I mean, nothing would be better than seeing Evans catching the winning td to send the Ravens to the SB because i really like the guy an appreciate all he did for the Bills but i gotta be honest.. i dont see how that was a score. btw... somehow, someway, i hate the Pats even more now..
  8. Wow. Run Run Run. First down. Run Run. First Down. Run Run Run. First Down. Pass... Int. Geez. luckily Ravens got it right back hahha
  9. (a few minutes ago) As the refs measure to show 4th and a half yard to go... Simms- "What i would do here is go up and call a qb sneak and if i like what i see.." Nantz- "Yeah they're sendimg out the field goal team..." Simms- "Yeah...that's what i would do..."
  10. HAha what a goof he is. He gets dumber every week.
  11. Whats the over/under on stupid things phil simms says today. He already suggested that Flacco should have thrown it away instead of taking a sack... ON THIRD DOWN? Really Phil?
  12. Okay, stop being so positive. At least point out a negative or two..
  13. I see what youre getting at (here it comes haha)... Buuuuuttt... The majority of defensive ends who are playing in the Pro Bowl this year are in their 30's. There is nothing to suggest that Mathis will slow down on his 31st birthday. While he has greatly benifited from playing with D. Freeney it certainly goes both ways. In fact Mathis has produced more sacks than Freeney in 6 of the last 7 years; recorded more tackles in the last eight; and caused equal or more fumbles than Freeney in almost every season. (Seven out of nine). Is he small? Definitely. But we also have a NT who is 6-1 and 300lbs that made the prowbowl last year and is a monster on the line. Dont think that i disagree that Mathis isnt the perfect fit and will at times struggle against the run. You are spot on. But the Bills need help in pass rushing and they need it now. Mathis is a beast and will terrorize qbs in the new pass happy NFL. We cant always wait around for the perfect fit and if the Bills go to a 43 it could very well be a Kelsay - Willams - Dareus - Mathis line. Heads up Brady.
  14. I disagree. I think that if the offence improves next year the qb coach will be in for a long wait before he gets the credit he deserves. The media will more likely jump on the Sanchez train and say he has matured and all that. Maybe even give credit to the OC if the playcalling improves.
  15. Easier said than done. Did you see all the drama coming from the Jets locker room last year? Do you think anybody wants to walk into that shhhiistorm? Besides, with a guy like Rex Ryan if Sanchez and the offence do well he'll take most of the credit but if if Sanchez sucks guess who gets thrown under the new york tour bus? Yup, you guessed it.
  16. That makes me happy. By the way, who in their right mind would rather coach under Rex Ryan the loudmouth than Chan Gailey?
  17. Okay, maybe i'm not thinking this through properly.. if not i apologize. But what i'm referring to is the fact that the Bills have to resign Stevie Johnson. That looks to be in the range of 7-9 mil. If you resign Chandler and/or Bell then you are looking at another what? 5 million each? If you sign only one of those you still have to spend another 1-2 million for Lindell. How much room does that really leave you to work with to sign big name free agents? The reason i bring up cash to cap is because i thought that when a team gives a player a signing bonus it is spread out throughout the contract as far as its hit against the cap goes BUT doesnt a team like the bills count the whole signing bonus plus the first year base salary as cash they spent against the yearly cap? I think they do but i could definitely be wrong on that. So assuming all that is accurate you can see what i mean about them not having as much maneuvering room as it seems. Unless you cut a player like Edwards or Spencer Johnson- each of which would save you about 3-4 million next year, in which case they'd have money to throw at someone else.
  18. Here is the thing about Kelsay. You may save 3 and a half million by cutting him but you need to consider that if you do you will also have over 2 million in dead money. The question then becomes, can you sign a player for only 3-3.5 mil. who will give you what kelsay does. I dont think you can when you factor in the fact that kelsay is one of the leaders on defense. Having said that i never thought much of Kelsay and couldnt believe they signed him to the contract he got. But as far as the numbers go.. i think the best move would be to keep him. Especially if they switch back to a 43 next year.
  19. You arent going to get any arguement from me on that. I was thinking the exact same thing. But read the article that mob posted. Titans signing a te with 9 catches, 166 yards and 1 td a contract of 4 yrs/15 mil. (approx.)? Are you kidding me? Chandlers agent is salivating as we speak right?
  20. Hahaha. Yeah, after all these years i dont think i would blame anyone for throwing up their arms and saying "to hell with the Super Bowl.. just give one damn playoff game already!"
  21. At that rate. Chandler is going to be offered 10 million/yr. Well at least now we know why the titans are in trouble.
  22. You're right. The point i was making is that if you are a team on the verge of a championship you would be willing to pay that salary for someone who would get you over the hump. But if you are a team on the verge of becoming a playoff contender would you be willing to pay that much for someone... just to get you to the playoffs? Something to consider.
