  1. If you say F-him to Gronk for leaving Buffalo for better opportunities, you better prepared to say the same to at least 1/2 the posters on this board. Did you notice the recent where are you now Bills fan thread? And the guy has put up better numbers than all those guys you mention in his first 2 years.
  2. I hope the memories of your dad and his accomplishments lessen your grief. it's special that he was a part of early Bills history. Whatever happened to the Buffalo Bill character? At what point did he fade from the marketing of the team?
  3. Picking Locks in June is tough. You might turn out to be right, but here are some that are in doubt. McIntyre - may not keep a traditional full back and Dickerson's versatility could win out. Dawn Edwards and Spencer Johnson. The performance of the D last 2 years has shown these guys are below average and a major reason for the big spending in the off season. There will be a major veteran presence on the line anyway, so I think young guys like K. Heard and Carrington have a better chance to make the team. Kirk Morrison - might be a good fit in the new D. But he was unimpressive last year. Plus Wanny's preference for speed should favor young guys such as Carder, Moats, and C. White. Justin Rogers and Brooks. I would expect they'l both be on the opening day roster. But they're hardly locks. For what it's worth McGee and Mckelvin are ahead on the depth chart
  4. MAR-EE-O WILL-YUMS 3 + 2. Is 5 syllables
  5. Hee hee. Their receivers are so bad they signed Chad. Could be just for entertainment purposes during Hard knocks
  6. It's true. Schobel was very good, but the Bills never even had another above average guy on the other side during his career. It's a huge reason for the playoff drought. Bruce, Hansen, and Wiley were leading the pass rush in 1999. With a healthy Merriman, this year's group of edge rushers could be better than the last playoff group in 99'.
  7. Great to see the Bills pick the right guy. Desperately needing D-line help, once Newton and V Miller were off the board, Dareus seemed like a no-brained safe pick. But then again so did Ngata and orakpo. Personally I was really worried Fairley was going to be the latest of the bills misguided picks.
  8. Well stated Meatead. Whitner certainly was not the ideal pick at #8. So it can be said that picks like Whitner and A. Smith were not successful picks in terms of the Bills career you expect from a first rounder. But they're also not total busts in the realm of mike williams, Mcargo, or Maybin.
  9. Thanks for the link. Definitely a top 10 thread. 5 years from now Philly will be craving a loss in th NFC title game
  10. Heard over troup on the DL If you listen to what the Bills are saying, Potter will be on the team for KOs. Will likely keep 2 kickers this year. If the kid can be accurate and reliable on FGs he'll eventually take over for Lindell.
  11. I share your mind set. In summary we should stick with the young guys, but IMO we do need another TE. Either B. Scaife/V. Shiancoe would be good additions at the right price. Definitely no on Porter. Besides the locker room problems he would likely create, we already have Merriman who is a similar type of player.
  12. Come on back to WNY. We could use some Super Bowls and Stanley Cups. Buffalo Mike sounds good
  13. Born in Syracuse. Lived in East Aurora, Buffalo, Connecticut, and now south Florida. Family had season tickets for the first 50 years until 2 years ago. Still get back for a game or 2 each year
  14. Please No. Beck is a strong candidate for the worst player in the history of the NFL. Try to find soemeone worse.
  15. glad the Jets didn't take Ingram. Hope NE doesntbget him. Coples has a chance to be a bust
  16. Because we have the same below average talent on O minus 1 starting lineman.
  17. Can't accuse of Nix of trying to be sneaky. There's no one he talked up more than Gilmore. Feel a little disappointed. Would've liked this pick if were able to trade back a couple spots and get an extra pick.
  18. I almost agree with you. The difference in missing with the 11th pick compared to later round selection is the high quality talent that is still on the board during the 1st round. Bluenews post illustrates this perfectly. There were a dozen or more very good players picked after Maybin in the 1st round. still the next 3 Bills picks salvage a B- grade.
  19. 3 Jeff Wright 2 Regeir / Ruff 1 RALPH WILSON!!!
  20. Thank you San Jose. Give us break Beastly. The comments on Claiborne were pretty tame. learning disability or not, unless he can't read at all, he could still do a little prep and score at least a 10. Yes you can prep for standardized tests. Considering the Wonderlic is a known part of a multimillion dollar interview process, it's just lazy. The criticism is deserved.
  21. I truly hate NE and all Boston teams for that matter. Most pompous fans in the country. But over the past 10 years or so, since the Patriots have been good, I've tried to root for the Dolphins when they play NE and I can't bring myself to do it. My hatred of the Dolphins from the 70's - 90's is too ingrained. So it's MIA, NE, with NYJ a distant 3rd for me. I have lived in all 3 enemy territories and attended multiple Bills road games in each city over the years. Although the Jets fans talk an amazing amount of crap considering what a mediocre and dysfunctional franchise history they have, IMO they're still less offensive than patsies or fish fans.
  22. It was "matriculating" and yes you are the only one
  23. That's an interesting one. As it is the 1985 draft was the base of the Bills golden age. Bruce Smith, Andre, Frank Reich, plus at least a few others who were solid contributors. Replacing Derrick burroughs with Rice, might have made it the best draft of all time. What's really amazing is that the Bills had the first overall pick that year and 2 picks in each of the first 3 rounds. They had 6 of the first 63 picks.
