  1. Steven Jackson plays for the Rams. Fred Jackson is a Bill.
  2. "Wasn't there supposed to be a tag title match also? Wonder what happened." I heard that Kid Rock went long and they had to bump the tag title match from the show. Carlito and his brother/cousin/whatever won, or so I've heard.
  3. At least you're helping keep this thread alive!
  4. "Never assume" I'm just making people aware of how well my favorite NHL team is doing. There's a few Bills fans on this board from the Midwest, so I thought I'd see if I could drum up some support for the Blues.
  5. I don't want to take any thunder away from the Sabres and their fans, but wanted to show some support for the hottest team in the NHL since January 1st: The St. Louis Blues. They've gone from dead-last in the Western Conference to 8th-place and on the verge of a playoff berth; seemingly impossible a more than a month ago. They have a good balance of veterans (Keith Tkachuk, Andy MacDonald), young talent (David Backes, Brad Boyes), three of the best rookies/2nd year players (TJ Oshie, David Perron, Patrick Berglund) and solid goaltending (Chris Mason). The franchise hit the skids after the lockout and has slowly built the team through the draft and good acquisitions. A tip of the hat to Dave Checketts, John Davidson and Coach Andy Murray. I know many on this board live in the east and don't follow much of the West, but I encourage you to keep an eye on the Blues as they fight for the postseason this year and in the coming years. They're shaping up to be a very good team. GO BLUES! (Go Sabres, too!)
  6. Trying to grow the family on Facebook. I've also got one going on MySpace.
  7. A motorized bar stool: This sounds like something Tim Allen would have come up with for his comedy routine or for Home Improvement.
  8. If I can suggest you get your local TV news from WCMH. I have two really good friends who work there: one's the morning news co-anchor; the other is a reporter/anchor.
  9. Good luck! There's something a bit special about proving a doctor's initial prognosis was wrong. Hope things have turned the corner for you!
  10. Doesn't matter who starts. Just get the ball in Greg Bell's hands!
  11. What if there's a fumble and the ball gets batted well behind the line of scrimmage? We have one play interfering with the other end of the field. Or if penalties move the offense back 15-20 yards: won't there be a danger of each side overlapping or sharing the same area of the field? Unique concept, but it sounds confusing to me.
  12. Just keep him away from Octo-Mom when she's in heat.
  13. Washington's WR corps was named The Smurfs in the early 1980's and they played in a couple of Super Bowls, winning one.
  14. I was at the race yesterday (I made it a priority of my family's Florida vacation once we determined it would coincide with the race). It was amazing to watch the race as it unfolded. We sat high enough near Turn One (Lockhart Tower, 37th row) to see the entire track. There's a lot to say about the race but I'll hit on a few points... -I am a big Tony Stewart fan and felt good about his chances once he made his way to the front and lead a few laps after starting at the back of the field. I thought he could win but nobody would draft with him and the race was stopped short of the full 500 miles. It would have made a good race even better if they'd have gone the distance and Smoke would have been in the mix. -A lot of Dale Jr. fans at the track. They got all excited when he got his lap back at the end. Junior Nation was sure he would get back to the front. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. -Until you see a race at Daytona or Talladega in person, you cannot comprehend 30-40 cars inches apart at 180-190mph with a couple of seconds separating first from last. It's chaotic yet exciting to see these drivers virtually flying around the track. I had my hands on my head several times anticipating a wreck that didn't materialize. -Note to some fans: if you raise your fist in approval of your driver as he drives past you, don't expect him to see you. He's kinda busy. And, if he could look in the crowd, there's 170,000 people. Would you really think he'll spot you? -Daytona (and all NASCAR races?) allows you to bring in food and drink to the race. There were people around me who had beer and other liquor that they'd brought. I think that's a good idea. I had a lot of fun at the race and would definitely do it again.
  15. This may be the greatest thread... ever.
  16. I've since looked up Gaylord Perry, and it wasn't him.
  17. Is Huggins the kid who tore up his knee at the Combine last spring?
  18. Looks like Martz wants back in St. Louis if Jim Haslett is hired as head coach: Martz To Return To St. Louis?
  19. The Illinois Secretary of State has to sign off on Blago's appointment of Burris before the U.S. can accept him, I believe. The Illinois Senate will go forward with the impeachment trial and, by all accounts, there are enough votes to boot him from office; early February is the estimate. My past job put me in the midst of some of the politics in Illinois and I'd heard horror stories about Blago from some of the lawmakers he was supposed to be working with. The Governor would offer to help lawmakers who voted for his bills, but he burned so many going back on his verbal promises that they began asking for him to put them in writing before even considering supporting his causes. He would also verbally berate people who went against him on issues (which has come to light) when the FBI arrested him The guy is no good to say the least. Blagojevich makes the historically dirty politics in Illinois look clean.
