McBeane gave Peterman his shot....
TwistofFate replied to realtruelove's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To keep things in perspective, Petermans 4 games in the NFL have been played against the best defenses in the league, (Ravens, Chargers, Jaguars) the other was in Blizzard, (Colts) with the latest in a monsoon. People need to give the kid some slack. The only reason Allen is the starter this week is because if it's going to look as bad as it was last week, it might as well be chalked up to learning experience for your rookie franchise Qb. -
McBeane gave Peterman his shot....

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/nathan-peterman?id=2558191 Strengths Smooth, quick set-up in pocket. Grips the ball with big, 10-inch hands. Poised in pocket and takes the hit to deliver a completion. Will set-up, slide and then re-set before making his throw. Can cut it loose from off-balance angles from bootleg or play-action if he sees a winning option break open early. Full field reader. Works all the way through his progressions. Shoots glances at safeties to keep them in check. Strong natural accuracy. Able to throw receivers open and lead them away from danger. Can pinpoint passes to moving targets in his intermediate work. Has enough arm to work field side, intermediate throws. Great vision. Sees passing windows before they develop. Throws with outstanding timing and anticipation. Can put the ball on receivers' hands as soon as they come out of a break if coverage dictates it. Utilizes accuracy and anticipation to challenge windows on all three levels. Won at Clemson hanging five touchdown passes on their talented stop unit. Good escapability and can extend drives with his legs. Excellent deep ball accuracy completing 46.2 percent of his deep throws. Weaknesses Inconsistent delivery base causes some throws to sail. Has instances where he short strides and is forced to muscle it to his target. Will float some throws on seams and dig routes. Will have to be mindful to drive the ball on pro level to avoid the ballhawks who are lurking at safety. Has to prove he has enough arm to challenge the same tight windows he did in college. Ball handling a little sluggish in wide receiver screens, hitches and most RPOs (run, pass option). Wants to play hero-ball at times. Needs to learn when to air-mail throw and move to next play rather than trying to get too cute with sideline throws. Can improve overall touch. Draft Projection Round 3-4 Sources Tell Us "I like him. He made me a believer when I watched him against Clemson. I do want to see him throw live and get a feel for how the ball comes out. I never saw him in person and you can't get a feel for that stuff on tape." - NFC Director of Personnel NFL Comparison Kirk Cousins Bottom Line Peterman's experience in a pro-style passing attack gives him a head start headed into the league. His physical attributes are just average, but his accuracy, composure and anticipation are what sets him apart from some of the more physically gifted quarterbacks in this year's draft. Peterman's tape is sure to catch the eye of at least a few teams in need of a quarterback and he should come off the board by day two with a chance to become a solid starting quarterback in the future. -

Trade Lesean McCoy for maximum value to take into next season, with the second most amount of cap space and 9 draft picks already waiting for us, a third for Shady would get it done. What are any of the guys the cut loose doing??? Last time I checked, not one of them were being mentioned anywhere by any sports media outlets if any kind. This team had no talent outside of a limited few. The only way to build a successful long term winner in the NFL is to hit the Jackpot with a franchise Qb, then have a stellar "process" aquiring and developing players through the draft, with FA only bringing in that one or two big time player to push you over the edge. That is the only real winning formula in the NFL, and it can be seen by watching the likes of the Steelers, Patriots, Packers, etc. -
You gotta trade McCoy now... right?
TwistofFate replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At this point it only makes sense to shop Lesean for maximum value. We are not going anywhere with his talent right now, but instead, we can maximize it for the future. IMO, whatever he brings draft pick wise would be more suited on an Oline pick in the near future. The plus side to this for him is he will probably get a chance to actually go somewhere where he has a chance to win now, especially since he's closing fast on the twilight of his career. -
It would be easy to pin today's total and utter collapse on one specific person or thing, but in reality, there is plenty of blame to go around. Penalties, both offensively and defensively, killing drives and sustaining drives. Missed assignments, both offensively and defensively. Execution, dropping passes, wiffing on blocks, gap control, etc. Special teams...missed field goals, large punt returns, and penalties. This was a day for Murphy's Law. If the was a wrong way to do it, it was done. Peterman does not shoulder the blame alone, nor does Allen, nor does any one player. This is a team game and a team effort. This entire team, including the coaching staff was man handled today, and no doubt are completely embarrassed by what transpired today. Growing pains will be the theme going forward this year. We are a far ways off from being a consistent winner, realistically speaking, probably 2 years out. There is no quick and easy fix, so bear down, grunt your teeth, and keep the astroglide near by. Cheers.

Oh, OK Nostradamus. Where's that first rounder Ej at right now? Allen was a terrible draft pick IMO, his deficiencies are well documented and observable. Rosen would have been my choice. But....ill support whoever is out there until a change is made. -

I don't care what you promise, what is reality is Peterman is the starter for a reason. That reason is he gives us the best chance to win, is further along in his understanding, and gives the coaches more of what they want to see. They will make a switch when they feel the tides turn, if they turn. Until then support your young second year guy and hope for the best. -

Well the coaching staff feels differently, regardless of your bias or beliefs. If Peterman years it up, Allen will never see the field. That's not a placeholder. He's starting because he's better, end of story. -

Can't stand the comments about Peterman. He's the starter, get over it and support him til he isn't. He's the starter for a reason, and Allen isn't for a reason. -

Nice piece. Hopefully this hard work actually produces noticeable results on the field. -
I have to laugh at the people saying pull Allen before he gets hurt. Who do you put in, Peterman? Peterman is the clear starter for week one. I've seen enough. Allen needs to learn, progress, and ride the bench the first year. He's definitely not ready to lead this team to 5 of 7 on the road and I'm not ready to ruin another Qb. This entire team is a work in progress, not a finished product that needs a qb. Let Allen play and grow.

Indefinite Detention For American Citizens
TwistofFate replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yes, you can. You can thank the Patriot Act for that. As well as being detained, no information about your charges, whereabouts, etc, need to be revealed about you. You can essentially be pulled off the grid permanently. It's a scary thought, isn't it? They don't need any, which is an even scarier thought. If you are taken into custody, the Patriot Act allows them the ability to not give any information about you. Due process of the law is thrown out the window. -
Assuming the Bills lose one more game ...
TwistofFate replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly, there is no question in my mind that we are in fact the worst franchise in the NFL. From the front office, to scouting, and right down to coaching, we are definitely the worst. After this failure of a season, we will stand alone in terms of epic gridiron failure. Geez, don't we all love being Bills fans? lol -
Back of the endzone. It was thrown behind him but he had two hands on it, and it went right through his hands. He even had a chance on the last play of the game.
-
Yea, and two more went to Stevie. He dropped them too. If a ball hits you in the hands, you have to catch it, especially when the game is on the line. That is what top Wr do, they make elite plays. Like Plax's one handed grab on third and 11. It was a horrible throw, way high, and behind him...he still made the catch.
-
Stevie is not an elite Wr in this league, however he is a solid number 2. He dropped 2 sure td's to win the game, and a third that was close. On the catches that we needed him most, he failed. Elite WR step up and make the play.
