  1. He can't sue the NFL because he quit. ?
  2. Kaep didn't lose his job. The guy voided his own contract. He quit.
  3. . We should give Whaley a lot of credit for recognizing (which we all agreed at the time) that there just isn't enough FRANCHISE quarterbacks to go around. He agreed with the Pegulas to hire REx because "ground and pound" is the only alternative when you can't get that elusive QB. The offense actually improved... but who would have predicted that the defense would tank. Whaley was a victim of circumstance where No good College QB's were coming out, and the few that did (Cam Newton) were out of reach in the draft.
  4. I don't need to reply anymore. Your Bias is overwhelmingly obvious in this one post. Miller is solid and got a FA contract to start for the Bengals. When everyone sucks, being average is good enough. THe NFL has an OL and QB problem. Harvin was a star at the time of his signing. He was also VERY productive until his injury. The fact that Woods and Goodwin have flourished proved that the roster was built LONG TERM, had we kept them. Everyone would take Woods in 2016 over Jones in 2019 1)EJ was Nix, but Whaley brought in Tyrod, who made the pro-bowl. That's not neglect. 2)He spent the cap but never hit cap hell. The team NEVER had to dump talent because of the cap. 3)This is unfounded speculation. He built a team that should have won with the amount of talent he brought here. ...and if you know a long term plan to win, let the world know because 31 teams haven't figured out how to do it, and the 32nd cheats.
  5. Whaley's Roster: Tyrod McCoy Watkins-Woods-Goodwin-Harvin Clay Glenn-Incognito-Wood-Miller-Mills (r)Lawson-Dareus-Williams-Hughes Alexander-Brown-Brown-Spikes Gilmore-Darby-Robey Williams-Graham Carpenter-Schmidt. Outside of Mills, who was a stopgap.... that managed to keep the job several years...find a "glaring" hole in this roster... There was talent at every level. What exactly do you expect the GM to do? THere entire job is to build a talented roster. Which he did. The team was supposed to win NOW. It was LOADED. Rex was supposed to win in his 1st season. Of course the GM would want to bring in talent that would help immediately. The one argument is not finding a FRANCHISE QB, but at least found a servicable replacement in Tyrod. There have been very little news about whaley after he left the Bills. You're assuming a lot.
  6. You are heavily biased against him The starters at DT were Dareus and Williams. Rambo and Bryant were backups... can't really predict suspensions and injuries; although they played well in spot duty. Miller was average, but reliable; anytime you can get a 3rd round pick to start as a rookie, is a win. Waley's roster was his vision... and he plugged every hole; even Quarterback was somewhat addressed with Tyrod. What was lacking was the culture, the process, also known as the Head Coach. ...And the fact that he butted heads with Marone proved he had a vision of how he wanted HIS players used. Unfortunately, because of the hole at quarterback, his "vision" morphed into building a run heavy team, enter Tyrod and Rex... it might have worked too... but, while his offense managed to be respectable, Rex ruined a great defense, which got both of them fired.
  7. They're already spinning the news that Cashman was taking his starting job anyway, that was why he was in there so long...
  8. Thanks for the Info. Us Westerners are rarely taken into consideration for broadcasts.
  9. That was NOT an average team. Seriously, look at the roster. Find a glaring hole outside of Quarterback. Whaley's team was loaded with talent. They under-performed, mostly because of Rex. I remember some articles stating the Bills had built the most complete roster in the NFL... talent everywhere... if only they had found a QB (poor EJ). I would compare Whaley's team to pre-Cousins Vikings, or the current Jaguars... The team can sue to get the signing bonus back, as well as the guaranteed money. That's the reason why many players choose to NOT file retirement paperwork, and wait for the team to cut them, instead. It's something they should put into contracts, but no player would agree to it, especially the medical guarantee.
  10. The quarterback whiff (at a time when there seemed to be a lack of good ones coming out) is what everyone focuses on under Whaley. The trades for Watkins, brown, etc added to a loaded roster. There wasn't a need to add much more; especially late round picks. Whaley's team had a lot of talent, everywhere. But his one mistake was not finding a quarterback... and that is all that mattered.
  11. ON paper, Whaley built a really good team... which is what GM's are supposed to do. The couch is supposed to put it together.. the hire of which can be blamed on All parties involved. The team wasn't in cap hell, they just spent to it.
  12. Doug Whaley/Nix built a REALLY good roster... with the exception of a quarterback. They don't deserve the hate they get here for that... maybe for Rex, but many people loved that move then too. It's been said that every GM/Couch will be judged by their choice of quarterback, no matter how well he does everywhere else. I guess it's true.
  13. If Morse decides he's done, I hope he retires and not just stays on the injured list taking up a roster spot/cap money. The worst thing to happen to the team would be another InCognito situation. I know players would rather get cut than retire to keep the guaranteed cash, Morse would be a complete %$#@ to do it now, when he's never played for the Bills.
  14. He's had two off-seasons, we don't really have enough info for either one of us to be right... ...but both years he's signed a LOT of free agents, the net gain/loss count wasn't even close to be considered in the compensatory pick formula at all.
  15. Miller, Groy, and Mills on the OL were free agents. Last year, the fans were begging the team to release 3 more guys to get comp picks. Beane is the type of GM that signs several players to fill a single spot. I doubt we will ever see a 3rd compensatory pick while he's in charge.
  16. Beane likes to sign a lot of low/mid tier Free Agents that cancel out compensatory picks.
  17. Beane is not the type of GM that will get compensatory picks.
  18. I had close to the same experience as you. I was a casual gamer, so it took about a year to hit 60 in Vanilla. Hated BC and quit at lvl 62. Came back to finish it right before LK. Lich King was probably the best expansion in the series to me. Good story, open maps, interesting (fun) raids. Naxx is still my favorite. Cataclysm got boring so i stopped when i hit max level. Awful raid content. Then came back for Mists and it became my 2nd favorite expansion; although it had the best story. Actually got multiple alts to max. 2nd favorite raiding experience. WoD had a good story followup to Mists, but the overall gameplay sucked, as well as the maps. Legion was bland, but it was the first time I cared what happened to the Alliance. Hated how it ended; basically starting over when they nerfed everyone. BfA has kept my interest and the first Expansion where I'm waiting for new content to continue the "campaign". Although raids are pointless now. I've been part of raiding guilds (was actually ranked top 10 in gearscore ? for my server at one time), but you can never keep those teams together. One expansion your guild is talking about going professional, and the next expansion, half want to spend more time with their kids... Classic will be something everyone will try out, but I think it will be a single, low population server after 6 months. We remember the fun, and forget the grind. Who is willing to spend an hour in a mine trying to gather 20 teeth from toothless miners for a single quest?
  19. In many cases fans will get a lot of these trades, signings, etc correct because we have no obligation to prove it. Even journalists have to wait for a source to say they'll back the story before publishing. Although this trend is changing... Not surprisingly, if we were to cite TBD as a news site, we'd probably have a better record than ICB.
  20. Can't find something that doesn't exist. You're basically asking me to prove you didn't see the Easter Bunny. He claimed proof after the fact, which is probably what you saw, but the original tweets before the breaking news did not name a player, as far as I can google... what I did find named SEVERAL players, including Tate, that ICB MIGHT have referenced... There was also quite a few who assumed he was talking about Tyreek Hill, and that it was old news. ...but, I'm not going to waste anymore time on something YOU claimed happened. Prove it. As far as I can tell he didn't break the Tate news, only got lucky with a vague tweet. However, If you do find it, link it here, because I want to see proof myself that ICB actually broke a story for once, and maybe give hope to those people who want Clowney, not that ICB actually tweeted anything that suggests anything that was brought up this thread.
  21. Math.... There are 53 + 10 roster spots Each team gets 7 draft picks That means it takes 8 years to fill a roster. The average players lasts 3.3 years. Who fills the other 4.7 years?
  22. It was speculated that he might have violated curfew, or some other team rule. Victim of the process...
  23. I imagine Clelin Ferrell for the Raiders will have a Shaq type start to his career.
  24. Notable drafted players after Shaq was picked 19th in 2016 23 L. Treadwell Vikings 36 M. Jack Jaguars 38 X. Howard Dolphins 45 D. Henry Titans 47 M. Thomas Saints 52 D. Jones Falcons 56 C. Whitehair Bears 64 K. Byard Titans 69 Y. Ngakoue Jaguars 81 A. Hooper Falcons 99 J Schobert Browns 135 D. Prescott Cowboys 150 J. Howard Bears 165 T. Hill Chiefs
