  1. Except that activists, and more importantly, politicians have already stated they want to ban ALL GUNS. ...and it's blatantly obvious why ordinary citizens should be armed, even beyond the need for self defense. The 2nd Amendment was specifically created to combat Tyranny, and the riots in Venezuela, Turkey, Spain, France, Hong Kong, and Oregon prove that that need still exists today. It's estimated that more than 75% of firearms were NOT turned into the Australian government after the ban. So the statistics are trying to prove the effectiveness of a BAN that didn't occur.
  2. There would still not be enough data to prove nothing changed. I can't prove that not having a rock in my pocket attracts Bears. He can reduce the time to 2yrs and would still be wrong. Don't start an argument with FALSE statement and expect people to believe anything afterward.
  3. You are more likely to get hit by lightning, or win the Powerball than be involved in a mass shooting... ....yet this irrational fear is enough for people to give up a fundamental Right; and bully others to do the same. Imagine if we had a debate to close beaches during shark week. (which is much more likely to occur)
  4. You can't do statistical analysis on rare instances.. There just isn't enough data to come up with a statement like "16 incidents prevented". It's equivalent to the false argument that a rock in your pocket prevents bear attacks. Bottom line: Restating the LIE that "no mass shootings occurred in 22 years" invalidates his argument; proven by the fact that he immediately attaches exceptions.
  5. THat last line is a complete lie which invalidates the entire article. Australia had one horrific shooting resulting in double digit deaths which caused the hysteria that pushed gun control. They didn't have many before that and don't have many after. The frequency didn't change much. Although, you can argue the methods did get a little more creative.
  6. I find it odd that there are people in this thread, like you, trying to virtue signal their opposition to generational stereotypes, like some crusade to right a reputational wrong. Everything in this thread is nothing but superficial nonsense, born out of memes, jokes, and social media; yet a few seem to be genuinely offended, like stating that young people act young, and old people act old is somehow controversial. As far as your response to me, you clearly didn't understand what it meant when I told you "I'm not a boomer." Think about it...what does that make me, instead?
  7. If he was a real man, he'd grab the cheap, generic, bulk-cases from Costco; or better yet, make some himself from paper towels and duct tape.
  8. I thought it was rather insightful. Just read the guy's posts. There's a lot of self-hate there.
  9. You do realize you're talking about yourself, right?
  10. So your argument is that boomers are bad because they sound like the generation they're complaining about...
  11. Your first mistake was assuming I'm a boomer.
  12. Social Security is not free. It's a forced loan to the government, who promises to pay back less than they borrowed. Free stuff is asking the government to pay off student loans. Does it bother you that no reads any of your manuals? Generally, Boomers don't know how to use a computer. Gen X-ers don't know how to fix a car Millennials don't know how to change a light bulb. Zombies eat tide pods
  13. If Millennials cure cancer, invent cold fusion, and produce the first sex robots...
  14. It's funny that a Newspaper used the defense that they printed opinions, and not facts, to get a defamation suit dismissed. ?
  15. X-ers had it the best. They got all the benefits given to the boomers and none of the headaches landing on Millennial's heads. Also, I think they had the best tv shows/movies... being able to watch the originals as well as the remakes.
  16. I think Millennials are getting a bad reputation because they're too young to have really accomplished anything yet. All bad, and nothing good (yet).
  17. The X-ers can be blamed for not caring enough to fix things before it got out of hand. They saw kids getting participation trophies and just laughed. They thought that re-cycling was enough to save the environment. They allowed diversity of skin to replace diversity of thought. They let music die.
  18. No one ever talks about Gen-X. The forgotten generation. The Ones who didn't screw anything up, but helped build the internet.
  19. They don't know how to use technology, they know how to consume it. I've seen very few (none) that is able to fix anything when it stops working. I've found that many don't bother learning anything, because they know they can google the answer, later. Ever try giving a millennial something to read that's written on paper? Like a user manual... They are even more greedy than previous generations. Not only do they complain that the government is going bankrupt, many still support INCREASING the debt even more to fund universal healthcare, forgive student loan debt, etc.... so they can get their fair share of FREE STuff.
  20. This fits my experience with Millennials as well. One guy wanted a bonus for showing up to work, on time, his first Month on the job; like that's an accomplishment. Many will tell you they are the best worker... if they cared enough to try; but they won't because the company doesn't care about them. There is no initiative; they are perfectly content to accomplish nothing the whole day. When they don't know what to do, instead of asking, or learning for themselves, they'll sit there on their phone till someone notices. There is no loyalty or team bonding; they don't talk to anyone. Any free time is used to bury their face in their phone.
  21. White, Poyer, or Hyde are the only possibilities left. I think White will be the sole Bill in the top 100. Probably in the 20's.
  22. A bit more cult-ish... Name the four Halliwell sisters. Bonus points if you know the Charmed actors.
  23. The technology is beginning to cross the cost/benefit line.... maybe another decade... but i'm still not willing to climb to the roof to clean them every month; might kill myself.
  24. I guess you can't just tell him to learn to code.
