Among those who were targeted 50-plus times, Gilmore was second in catch rate below expectation at -11.8 percent, second in ball-hawk rate (20.8 percent; this is the percentage of targets where the nearest defender made a play on the football), first in passes defended with 20 and tied for the lead in interceptions with six. He also ranked seventh in coverage success rate (60.4 percent) and allowed opposing passers to log just a 38.0 passer rating when targeted, second-best among that group. Only teammate J.C. Jackson, who faced nearly half as many targets (58) as Gilmore (96), was better in that department (allowing a passer rating of 21.8 when targeted). Gilmore's numbers and the tape don't lie: He's a premier cornerback. White's opposing catch rate below expectation is a bit less substantial, but at -8.4 percent, he still ranks sixth among those who were targeted at least 50 times. His hawk rate (20.2 percent) ranks third among that group, and his opposing passer rating allowed is just barely below Gilmore's, at 38.9. White is also tied atop the interception leaderboard with Gilmore at six, isn't far off in passes defended with 17, forces passes into tight windows on 28.6 percent of targets and allows just 4.0 yards after the catch on average. Wow , this is huge people. Fuller adds a whole new element to that passing attack. That's a huge loss for them , will have a big impact on their passing attack.

PFF is great to add on to an argument on how good a player is but that's it. It's just a good reference tool, their system is wayy to flawed , it shouldn't be considered as " the holy Grail" in determining how good a players season is

I noticed an uncomfortable trend with Buffalo and Josh Allen in particular. Allen has played a defense rated no less than 12 over the last 6 weeks and played well. There is some jostling in terms of pure passing defense, but when I look at the last game where he faced a "bad" defense (MIA week 11) he absolutely lit them up (4 total TDs). I wonder if RAC is going to be able to pull another rabbit out of his hat. Buffalo has a suspect offensive line in terms of pass protection. Run block grades are more favorable. Geez everything I look at in terms of matchup and strength vs weakness regressions it looks like more and more that Buffalo should win this game. Texans fan

Ya I agree. I don't like him at all and I very rarely feel that way about players . A franchise QB is so much more than on field ability. Allen clearly is heavily respected by everyone in this organization , the way he handles himself off the field has a huge impact on the team and has a direct impact on the teams performance imo.
