  1. That screen was the perfect play for the blitz that Frazier dialed up.
  2. Haha. Elam rejecting Mayfield’s attempt at sportsmanship. Would be great if Elam can get a pick off him.
  3. Sideline looked pretty happy after that Barkley punt.
  4. That’s not necessarily true as California has a “mistake of facts” defense which allows defendants to present evidence that there was “a reasonable and actual belief” that the victim was 18 or older.
  5. Again, we can’t presume that nobody in the room cares about the punter. That’s just more projection. I can project the opposite, that there are players who might rally behind the idea of a teammate being convicted in the court of public opinion. As for the coaches and front office, after the first 50 responses of “no comment” or “can’t comment” the questions will ebb and eventually die out.
  6. He’s certainly a distraction for fans and media, but I wouldn’t presume to know what the feeling is inside the building among players, coaches, and other staff. But we fans are really good at projecting.
  7. He’s the punter for the Browns, so I’m thinking they might not agree.
  8. We have a lot of self-righteous indignation to indulge.
  9. The plaintiff’s lawyer is contending that the SDPD stalled efforts to investigate. After reading his incessant tweets about the case, I’m taking everything he says with a huge boulder of salt. It’s just as likely that the DA’s office did investigate the complaint and felt there wasn’t sufficient evidence to bring criminal charges.
  10. This is an interesting thought as California law requires the consent of both parties when it comes to recording phone conversations. Unless California law excludes recordings made by law enforcement agencies and if Araiza did not consent, then it was illegally obtained.
  11. Not at all. I was piggybacking on your response to Buffaloflash who suggested her parents were somehow lacking by “letting” their teenager get piercings, etc. Buffaloflash’s comment was the one out of touch.
  12. It’s modern culture. I’d bet that this young girl’s parents have some piercings of their own, too. Regardless, suggesting the parents are somehow lacking because of it is a really out of touch comment.
  13. I’m not here to argue gray areas of legal statutes. Just thought you’d be interested to know he was actually 21 at the time.
  14. Araiza turned 21 in May, 2021, months before the alleged incident occurred.
  15. This guy doesn’t strike me as very professional at all. Trolling just isn’t a good look, imo.
  16. I doubt the Bills will cut him outright. I suspect he will be designated “reserve/suspended” while the legal process plays out.
  17. I know for a fact that private investigations aren’t used strictly on first round picks. Every potential Bills draft pick is subject to background checks and other investigative processes. Some go deeper than others depending on what the initial investigation reveals. I’d be surprised if the Bills weren’t aware of the incident by the time their draft board was constructed. As I said earlier, my concern is they received unreliable information since no criminal investigation was being conducted by SD police at the time.
  18. True. Teddy and Dorsey are two separate entities from different school of football. But they do have something in common; both served as a Bills QB coach before being promoted to OC.
  19. The presumption of innocence is a legal concept only.
  20. All potential draft picks are investigated by both league and team private investigators during the draft process. I’m confident the Bills did their due diligence given the information available at the time. My concern is that information was less than candid and reliable.
  21. Yeah, we figured it all out a couple days ago in subsequent posts in this thread. Turns out the ESPN article I linked was the ONLY article to state that PS players DON’T count against the cap. I should have read other articles before posting that link.
  22. Defense lost SBXV, no doubt. That said, Kelly’s ego definitely got in the way, especially early on. Belichick, with his “genius” two down linemen with everyone else standing up, was essentially daring us to run the ball. All those defenders standing up was a gift of leverage to one of the most dominant O lines we’ve seen and Kelly should have punished them with TT early and often until Belichick had seen enough. Given how TT tore them up on his few opportunities just underscores that idea. And Kelly would have had better opportunities to torch them as a result.
